The most well-known ANN architecture is the Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) network which is widely used for solving problems related to data classifications. However, the conventional ANN theory selects the best MLP (after training) for classification based on one which has the least number of hidden neurons, and gives the highest percentage of correct classification when if there are other MLPs (with more number of hidden neurons) which gives the same highest percentage of correct classification. The concept may not be correct since the other MLPs may perform better when presented with new datasets. Therefore, this project intends to investigate the capability of multiple MLP system with majority voting technique. It is a system which consists!
of all the best-performed MLPs and a single final output from these MLPs is selected by the voting system. The work employs neural network algorithm and C++ programming language as the tools to develop the proposed system. The MLP networks are trained using two types of learning algorithm, which are the Levenberg Marquardt and the Resilient Back Propagation algorithms. The performance of the multiple MLP networks are calculated based on the percentage of correct classificition. Data from two case studies; triangular waveform classification and breast cancer detection, have been used to test the performance of the developed system. The results show that the multiple MLP system with voting technique had the capability to improve the classification correctness. The advantages of this innovated method show that the MMLP system with automatic voting technique had the capability to improve the classification correctness. The most well-known artificial neural network (ANN) archite!
cture is the Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) network which is widely used
for solving problems related to data classifications. By approaching these invented MMLP system with automatic voting, the better classification result will be produce. With further advancement in the hardware of the system, "An automatic voting of the innovated (MMLP)" software has a vast potential to be prototyped as a commercial product.
Keywords: Automatic voting technique, multiple multilayer perceptron, artificial neural network, learning
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session:
Organizer of the Session:
How Did you learn about congress: asklibrarian@ppinang.uitm.edu.my
IP ADDRESS: 210.48.147.117

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON SYSTEMS
Transactions ID Number: 42-122
Full Name: 527 014
Position: Professor
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: 401
Country: BOTSWANA
Tel: 0
Tel prefix:
Fax:
E-mail address: lake8361@yahoo.com.cn
Other E-mails:
Title of the Paper: 000
Authors as they appear in the Paper: 000
Email addresses of all the authors: lake8361@yahoo.com.cn
Number of paper pages: 10
Abstract: 1042
Keywords: 242
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session:
Organizer of the Session:
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 222.178.10.254

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON SYSTEMS
Transactions ID Number: 42-121
Full Name: 527 014
Position: Professor
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: 401
Country: BOTSWANA
Tel: 0
Tel prefix:
Fax:
E-mail address: lake8361@yahoo.com.cn
Other E-mails:
Title of the Paper: 000
Authors as they appear in the Paper: 000
Email addresses of all the authors: lake8361@yahoo.com.cn
Number of paper pages: 10
Abstract: 1042
Keywords: 242
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session:
Organizer of the Session:
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 222.178.10.254

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON MATHEMATICS
Transactions ID Number: 42-120
Full Name: Sennimalai Kalimuthu
Position: Professor
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: 211 & The utilization of UPFC can result in significant reliability benefits in modern power systems. This paper proposes a novel reliability network model for a UPFC, which incorporates the logical structure and the distinct operating modes of a UPFC. The proposed model divides the UPFC operating modes into seven states, in order to improve the accuracy of the model by recognizing the practical operating states of a UPFC. The new model also incorporates an AC flow-based optimal load shedding approach to assess the impact of bus voltages and reactive power flow on UPFC in order to decide appropriate load curtailment in the reliability evaluation process. The performance of the proposed model is verified using a test system. Historical urban quarters are special places not only because of the cultural heritage they house, but also because of their urban pattern. The tourist preferred to visit a comfortable city, but of course did so because of its old monuments. Heritage is highly valued, because it allows the traveler to experience historic density differently in each city. It belongs, is at home in the shaping of the identity of the city - for its inhabitants as well as visitors. The study of urban history reveals that a variety of factors has influenced the development of ancient cities, with one of the most important factors being the economy. In fact, the very survival of a city was highly dependent on its economic power. As the most significant pe!
destrian network and backbone of a city, the bazaar plays an important role in the development and livability of traditional Iranian cities. This paper analyzes two examples of where modern construction and the old urban bazaar intersect, and discusses how the old urban texture is being lost.
Keywords: Bazaar, Traditional cities, Modernization, Street, Iran, Cultural heritage, Kerman, Transformation, Neighborhood centers, Preservation
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session: The impact of modernization on traditional Iranian cities, case study of Kerman
Organizer of the Session: 639-179
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 131.180.113.140

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON POWER SYSTEMS
Transactions ID Number: 42-118
Full Name: Kaigui Xie
Position: Please, select:
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: College of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University, Chongqing
Country: CHINA
Tel:
Tel prefix:
Fax:
E-mail address: kaiguixie@yahoo.com.cn
Other E-mails: kaiguixie@cqu.edu.cn
Title of the Paper: reliability evaluation of bulk power systems incorporating unified power flow controllers
Authors as they appear in the Paper: Bo Hu, Kaigui Xie, Rajesh Karki
Email addresses of all the authors: kaiguixie@yahoo.com.cn,hboy8361@yahoo.com.cn
Number of paper pages: 10
Abstract: Unified power flow controller (UPFC) is one of the most advanced flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) devices that can simultaneously and independently control both the real and reactive power flow in a transmission line. Calibration in the field using internal parameters is considered herein, using results obtained from typical open and short circuit tests and winding resistances, performed with common meters. A Möllinger & Gewecke graphic diagram is employed together with the results of an accuracy test previously carried out to determine the exact value of the winding turn relation and of the primary winding dispersion reactance. These values are used to calculate the phase and ratio errors, which must lie between definite limits, defined by the accuracy class of the instrument. Four commercial IVTs were tested to determine the validity of the procedure. The errors are compared with those obtained with the Schering-Alberti method (AC!
Bridge and comparison with standard IVT).
Keywords: - Instrument Transformers, Inductive Voltage Transformer, Voltage Transducers, Measurement Errors, Error Estimation, Certification, Calibration
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session: ON SITE CALIBRATION OF INDUCTIVE VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS
Organizer of the Session: 626-346
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 143.107.163.27

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS
Transactions ID Number: 42-117
Full Name: Sarawut Sujitjorn
Position: Professor
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: School of Electrical Engineering, Suranaree University of Technology, 111 University Avenue, Nakhon Ratchasima
Country: THAILAND
Tel:
Tel prefix:
Fax:
E-mail address: sarawut@sut.ac.th
Other E-mails: kongpol@sut.ac.th
Title of the Paper: Design and Implementation of Hybrid Power Filter for Harmonic Current Compensation for an AC Drive
Authors as they appear in the Paper: Kongpol Areerak, Soupagorn Visawa-phatra-dhanadhorn, Sarawut Sujitjorn
Email addresses of all the authors:
Number of paper pages: 12
Abstract: This paper presents a hybrid approach to harmonic current compensation in a single-phase variable speed ac drive, which is widely used in agricultural, and textile industries. Passive power filtering utilizes contour-based design method, and is aimed to significantly reduce the 3rd, and the 5th harmonic contents, and to achieve the total current harmonic distortion after compensation of below 20%. Active power filtering is aimed to assist the passive filter to compensate for the residue group harmonic. The active filter employs a current amplifier, and the sliding window Fourier analysis (SWFA) for harmonic identification. Simulation and experimental results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and the usefulness of the proposed method. The proposed method can cope with the speed range of 72-100% rated speed, and the load torque range of 80-110% rated torque. The results of the proposed harmonic compensation are complied with the IEEE Std519-1992 for low p!
ower systems.
Keywords: Harmonic, Hybrid power filter, Contour-based method, Sliding window Fourier analysis, AC drive.
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session:
Organizer of the Session:
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 210.246.92.2

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: Please, select the Journal that you submit to
Transactions ID Number: 89-134
Full Name: Teet-Andrus Koiv
Position: Professor
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: Ehitajate tee 5, Tallinn 19086
Country: ESTONIA
Tel:
Tel prefix:
Fax:
E-mail address: teet.koiv@ttu.ee
Other E-mails: takoiv@gmail.com
Title of the Paper: Domestic hot water consumption in educational premises, apartment and office buildings
Authors as they appear in the Paper: Teet-Andrus Koiv, Hendrik Voll, Allan Hani
Email addresses of all the authors: teet.koiv@ttu.ee; hendrik.voll@ttu.ee
Number of paper pages: 10
Abstract: : Investigations of domestic hot water (DHW) consumption and the consumption profiles have been carried out in many countries. Over-dimensioning of systems and equipment has been observed in the US. The last 15–20 years have seen drastic changes in people's DHW consumption in Estonia. Great changes have also taken place in top consumption. In Estonia it is customary to determine DHW design flow rates for schools and children's institutions, residential and office buildings proceeding from the sum of the standard flow rates. The design flow rate calculated by standard EVS 835:2003 for residential and office buildings, ordinary schools and children's institutions are considerably bigger than the actually measured ones. For determining the design flow rates for the determination of the water heating devices for schools, children's institutions, office and residential buildings calculation formulas are recommended. By the recommended formulas the design flow rates for!
ordinary schools are approximately 1…1.2 times smaller than those calculated by the EVS standard, 1.1…2.1 times smaller for children's institutions and 2 times smaller for office and residential buildings. Recommended calculation formulas reduce over-dimensioning both the DHW instantaneous heat exchangers and the flow rates of the district heating network.
Keywords: DHW consumption, Determining the design flow rates, Schools, Kindergartens, Office and residential buildings.
EXTENSION of the file: .doc
Special (Invited) Session: Domestic hot water consumption and the consumption profiles in education premises and office buildings
Organizer of the Session: 624-198.doc
How Did you learn about congress: Dr. Valdu Suurkask;valdu.suurkask@ttu.ee
IP ADDRESS: 193.40.244.212

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON COMPUTERS
Transactions ID Number: 42-116
Full Name: Adel Al-Jumaily
Position: Senior Lecturer
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: Faculty of Engineering and IT, University of Technology, Sydney, City campus, PO Box 123 Broadway
Country: AUSTRALIA
Tel: +61 2 9514 7939
Tel prefix:
Fax: +61 2 9514 2655
E-mail address: adel@eng.uts.edu.au
Other E-mails:
Title of the Paper: Exploring in Face Recognition Approaches
Authors as they appear in the Paper: MUTHANA H. The purpose of this paper is to present and describe the main methods of human face recognition. We proposed a general Automatic Face Recognition (AFR) system framework to illustrate the processing stages of face images. The AFR includes two main phases: the enrolment phase and recognition/verification phase. Different popular and modern algorithms that have been applied on living persons to verify or recognize the identity based on his/her physiological characteristic are reviewed in this paper
Keywords: AFRS, Face Detection Approaches,Face Recognition/Verification
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session:
Organizer of the Session:
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 138.25.50.100

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON SIGNAL PROCESSING
Transactions ID Number: 42-115
Full Name: Ashraf Zaher
Position: Associate Professor
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: Kuwait University, Science College, Physics Department, P. The General Trigonometry will be one of the most important phenomena introduced into the mathematical domain; it gives a general concept view of the trigonometry and forms an infinite number of trigonometry branches and each branch has its own characteristics and features. The concept of the General Trigonometry is completely different from the traditional trigonometry in which the study of angles will not be the relation between sides of a right triangle that describes a circle as the previous one, but the idea here is to use the relation between angles and sides of a geometrical form (e.g.: circle, elliptic, rectangle, quadrilateral …) with the internal and external circles formed by the intersection of the geometrical form and the pos!
itive parts of x'ox and y'oy axis in the Euclidian 2D space and their projections. This new concept of relations will open a huge gate in the mathematical domain and it can resolve many complicated problems that are difficult or almost impossible to solve with the traditional trigonometry, and it can describe a huge number of multi form periodic signals.
The most remarkable trigonometry is the "General Elliptical trigonometry" that has a huge advantage ahead the traditional one. The importance of this trigonometry is that we can produce multi signal forms by varying some parameters of a single function. At a general level, competition in cyberspace is becoming more intense. With vast information available at the click of the mouse, consumers may easily switch at low cost, thus gaining higher bargaining power in the electronic marketplace. In turn, companies have no choice but to rethink their marketing strategies in order to retain customers. Apparently, one of the ways to gain higher market share companies have sought to use information technology to learn the needs and preferences of their customers – building log-term relationships. This study attempts to investigate the extent to which companies utilize the Internet technology to help build customer relationships. This study aimed to assess the usage level of Electronic Customer Relationship Management (E-CRM) tools by telecommunication !
companies. The results indicated that companies are indifferent in their levels of usage for informational and transactional tools but are significantly different in the adoption of relational tools. Present-day laser eye surgery techniques like PRK and LASIK correct only defocus and astigmatism, which are 2nd order aberrations. Surgically correcting the additional higher-order aberrations could extend the limits of human vision beyond 20/20. In addition, this type of capability could be used to eliminate the higher-order aberrations that may have been caused by a prior surgical procedure. These induced aberrations are responsible for the glare, halos, and other visual defects that have been reported by some eye surgery patients.
Keywords: Aberration,Zernike,Aberration,Pupil,Passband,Wavefront,Optical Structure
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session:
Organizer of the Session: Prof.Mohammad Etrati Khosroshahi, and his Email is: khosro@aut.ac.ir
How Did you learn about congress: Smithsonian Institute
IP ADDRESS: 212.120.212.212

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON FLUID MECHANICS
Transactions ID Number: 42-110
Full Name: Amena Ferdousi
Position: Senior Lecturer
Age: ON
Sex: Female
Address: Department of EEE, Eastern University, H#8/A, R#4, Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1207
Country: BANGLADESH
Tel: +880-1912159550
Tel prefix:
Fax:
E-mail address: amenaferdousi@gmail.com
Other E-mails: amena@easternuni.edu.bd
Title of the Paper: The Effect of Radiation on Natural Convection Flow of Fluid with Variable Viscosity from a Porous Vertical Plate in Presence of Heat Generation
Authors as they appear in the Paper: Amena Ferdousi, M. The governing boundary layer equations are first transformed into a non dimensional form and the resulting non linear system of partial differential equations are then solved numerically using finite difference method together with Keller-Box scheme. The numerical results show that the variable viscosity affects the surface shear stress and the rate of heat transfer, which are here in terms of skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number. It affects velocity as well as temperature profiles also. These are shown graphically and tabular form for a selection of parameters set of consisting of viscosity variation parameterƒ×, heat generation parameter Q, radiation effect Rd, Prandtl number Pr.
Keywords: Radiation effect, Porous plate, Heat generation, Natural convection, variable viscosity
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session:
Organizer of the Session:
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 147.162.54.234

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON INFORMATION SCIENCE AND APPLICATIONS
Transactions ID Number: 89-132
Full Name: Pavel Sedlak
Position: Senior Lecturer
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: Studentska 95, Pardubice, 532 10
Country: CZECH REPUBLIC
Tel: 00420466036071
Tel prefix:
Fax:
E-mail address: pavel.sedlak@upce.cz
Other E-mails:
Title of the Paper: Spatial Analyses Help to Find Movement Barriers for Physically Impaired People in the City Environment - Case Study of Pardubice, Czech Republic
Authors as they appear in the Paper: Pavel Sedlak, Jitka Komarkova, Adriana Piverkova
Email addresses of all the authors: pavel.sedlak@upce.cz, jitka.komarkova@upce.cz, adriana.piverkova@student.upce.cz
Number of paper pages: 10
Abstract: One of the main aims of the contemporary society is to provide barrier-free environment so all physically impaired people can move safely and without any discomfort. For this reason, WGIS applications have to be user-friendly. In the terms of a software quality, WGIS applications have to be usable. Lately, many various usability evaluation methods have been developed. Real users or their representatives are included in some of them. Other methods are based only on GIS experts' evaluation of applications. Advantage of deploying real users or at least their representatives is clear – they are able to identify some usability problems which could not be identified by experts. The problem is that usability evaluation in a real situation done by real users is quite difficult. Experimental user usability testing done by representatives of users is the next possibility. In this case, artificial environment is prepared in a laboratory and the whole experiment must be precisely conducted and controlled. In all c!
ases usability testing method must be precisely proposed and/or adapted for the given situation and conditions. Aim of the paper is to propose a suitable experimental method based on usability user testing to identify the most serious usability problems of 14 equal WGIS applications (all applications are run by the Czech Regional Authorities and they are targeted at citizens and other end users). The proposed method is qualitative, so its main aim is to identify the most serious usability problems of the evaluated applications. The proposed method, results of testing and identified problems are described in the end of the paper.
Keywords: Usability, User testing, Web-based GIS
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session: Web-based Geographic Information Systems and their Usability
Organizer of the Session:
How Did you learn about congress: hana.kopackova@upce.cz, pavel.sedlak@upce.cz
IP ADDRESS: 77.236.211.1

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON POWER SYSTEMS
Transactions ID Number: 89-130
Full Name: Reeli Kuhi-Thalfeldt
Position: Researcher
Age: ON
Sex: Female
Address: Ehitajate tee 5, 19086 Tallinn
Country: ESTONIA
Tel: 5186241
Tel prefix: 372
Fax: 6203751
E-mail address: reeli.kuhithalfeldt@ttu.ee
Other E-mails: reeli.kuhithalfeldt@mail.ee
Title of the Paper: Estonian electricity production scenarios and their CO2 and SO2 emissions until 2030
Authors as they appear in the Paper: R.Kuhi-Thalfeldt, A.Kuhi-Thalfeldt, J.Valtin
Email addresses of all the authors: reeli.kuhithalfeldt@ttu.ee, aron.kuhithalfeldt@mail.ee, juhan.valtin@ttu.ee
Number of paper pages: 11
Abstract: Closing of old oil-shale based power plants and fast development of wind power has raised several issues regarding possible future electricity production capacities in Estonia and their environmental performance. In February 2009 Estonian government adopted a new Development Plan of Energy Sector until 2020. This study was performed in conjunction to the strategic environmental assessment of the plan highlighting especially the CO2 and SO2 emissions of electricity production scenarios. The analysis is carried out using the Long range Energy Alternatives Planning System (LEAP) software, which is suitable for elaborating the scenarios and their impact on power balance and to the environment.
Keywords: Estonia, development plan, CO2 emissions, SO2 emissions, oil shale, wind power
EXTENSION of the file: .pdf
Special (Invited) Session: The effect of Estonian electricity production scenarios on CO2 and SO2 emissions in 2000-2030
Organizer of the Session: 626-281
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 84.50.45.217

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON POWER SYSTEMS
Transactions ID Number: 42-109
Full Name: Saleh Al-Jufout
Position: Associate Professor
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: P.O. The idea of this procedure has been based on nodal voltages technique and on differentiation of Kirchhoff's current law (KCL) applied to each non-reference node of the system, the result of which a system of algebraic equations for nodal voltages has been obtained. Currents flowing through the electric power system components have been determined by solving their respective differential equations. The overall number of the algebraic and differential equations has been decreased by one third by transforming the three-phase coordinate system into Cartesian coordinate system, where the use of the latter does not ignore the DC component during transient conditions, but restricts the model's implementation for symmetrical modes of operation only. A numerical example for a four-bus ring electric power system with graphica!
l results has been computed and illustrated.
Keywords: Mathematical Model, Ring System, Transients, Steady State
EXTENSION of the file: .doc
Special (Invited) Session:
Organizer of the Session:
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 86.108.3.156

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON INFORMATION SCIENCE AND APPLICATIONS
Transactions ID Number: 89-129
Full Name: JALALUDDIN ABDUL MALEK
Position: Senior Lecturer
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: Centre of Social, Development and Environmental Studies, Faculty of Social Science & Humanity, National University of Malaysia (UKM), UKM, Bangi, 43600, Selangor
Country: MALAYSIA
Tel: 6012-3865514
Tel prefix: 603-89215616
Fax: 603-89213334
E-mail address: la7458@hotmail.com
Other E-mails: jbam@ukm.my
Title of the Paper: Informative Global Community Development Index of Intelligent City
Authors as they appear in the Paper:
Email addresses of all the authors:
Number of paper pages: 10
Abstract: Abstract: - Informative Global Community Development Index (IGC) is an analysis method that looks at the development of the community currently residing in a intelligent city. From the understanding method, the development of intelligent cities based on a deontological ethics, the process of developing an intelligent city has to return maximum interest to the majority of the residing community in terms of hardware and software. The enhancement of IGC has become vital as the mile mark in developing Malaysia into a developed nation by the year 2020. In conjunction to that the method of cumulative index analysis IGC development has been used in this research as the main method in measuring the development of IGC. About 127 middle class families in Subang Jaya Smart City were chosen as research respondents in order to measure the IGC development index in Subang Jaya. All the variables are covered under ability component (humanware), management component and informatio!
n supervision (infoware), components of ownership and communication and information technology usage (technoware), as well as the usage value of ICT and cyber ethics (valueware). The IGC development Index which was used utilized the Rogers scale which looked at levels of innovation, pre-acceptance, pre-majority, final majority and final scale. The analysis showed that most of the residents in Subang Jaya only achieved IGC development in the pre-acceptance, pre-majority and final majority scale. This meant that there weren't any of the residents in Subang Jaya which achieved the final scale.
Keywords: Informative Global Community Development Index and Intelligent City
EXTENSION of the file: .doc
Special (Invited) Session: Informative Global Community Development Index of Informative Smart City
Organizer of the Session: 626-264.doc
How Did you learn about congress: Assoc. While forecasting fuzzy time series, most of forecasting applications use the same length of intervals. The determination of length of intervals is significant and critical in fuzzy time series forecasting. The usage of convenient performance measure may also have an important affect for forecasting studies. MSE (Mean squared error) as a performance measure is widely used in many studies. The aim of this paper is to improve fuzzy time series forecasting by using different length of intervals with neural networks according to various performance measures. For this reason, we take ISE (Istanbul stock exchange) national-100 index as a large data set for forecasting. We use various performance measures such as MSE, RMSE (Root mean squared error), MAE (Mean absolute error) and MAPE (Mean absolute percentage error) to compare forecasting p!
erformances with different length of intervals. The empirical results show that the most convenient length of intervals can be chosen as 300 by comparing overall performance of MSE, RMSE, MAE and MAPE by using neural networks.
Keywords: Forecasting, Fuzzy time series, Neural networks, Ise national-100 index, Performance measures, Length of intervals.
EXTENSION of the file: .doc
Special (Invited) Session: A Comparison Study of Performance Measures and Length of Intervals in Fuzzy Time Series by Neural Networks
Organizer of the Session: 626-282
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 78.163.1.86

Wseas Transactions

New Subscription to Wseas Transactions
The following information was submitted:
Transactions: WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON INFORMATION SCIENCE AND APPLICATIONS
Transactions ID Number: 89-127
Full Name: Cigdem Giriftinoglu
Position: Doctor (Researcher)
Age: ON
Sex: Male
Address: Anadolu University, Science Faculty, Department of Statistics, Eskisehir, TURKEY
Country: TURKEY
Tel:
Tel prefix:
Fax:
E-mail address: citgirif@hotmail.com
Other E-mails: cgiriftinoglu@anadolu.edu.tr
Title of the Paper: generalized entropy optimization distributions dependent on parameter in time series
Authors as they appear in the Paper: Aladdin Samilov, Cigdem Giriftinoglu
Email addresses of all the authors: asamilov@anadolu.edu.tr, cgiriftinoglu@anadolu.edu.tr
Number of paper pages: 10
Abstract: In this paper, we have proposed Generalized Entropy Optimization Problems (GEOP) concerned with parameters which consist of maximizing Entropy Functional subject to constraints dependent on parameters. Therefore, MinMaxEnt and MaxMaxEnt distributions are obtained as solutions of these problems. On bases of MinMaxEnt distribution we have developed a new estimation method of obtaining missing values in time series. Mentioned estimation method is applied to the data generated from autoregressive model for one missing value. The performance of the developed method is evaluated by mean square errors (MSE) calculated from simulation studies and the validity of this method is shown.
Keywords: MinMaxEnt Distribution, MaxEnt Distribution, Time Series with Missing Value, Estimation of Missing value, Autoregressive Modelling
EXTENSION of the file: .doc
Special (Invited) Session: Estimation Method Based on MinMaxEnt Distribution for Missing Value in Time Series
Organizer of the Session: 626-276
How Did you learn about congress:
IP ADDRESS: 83.66.233.98
