Abstract: Many organizations rely on a heterogeneous set of applications in virtual environment to deliver critical services to their customers. Different workloads utilize system resources at different levels. Depending on the resource utilization pattern some workloads may be better suited for hosting on virtual platform. The objective of this paper is to compare the performance of different workloads on two different virtual platforms. The IO performance of two different hypervisors are evaluated statistically by using a novel framework called Design of Experiment and it is used to identify the significance of input parameters and their overall effect on the model. This helps the end users and IT industries to select the suitable hypervisor for their IO scalable workloads.
