Abstract: Computer Systems used in Military and other challenging applications, are often exposed to increased levels of electromagnetic radiation. Embedded systems falling in this category often suffer from this exposure due to the operation of the device to which they belong. Consequently data communications within such devices need to be protected against transmission errors. Current general purpose encoding schemes that are used in other communication applications are prohibitively complex for this application. In this paper an innovative extension to the well known checksum concept is proposed that is capable of controlling errors in intra device data transfers. The new technique is shown to be simple enough for implementation and to increase the probability of detection of errors by several orders of magnitude. The scheme is hence shown to be suitable for embedded computing platforms for military and other demanding systems. More specifically, the modified checksum is !
examined in respect of its suitability for use in schemes for the transient error detection in schemes for reliable data storage within computing systems and it is explained why it is extremely suitable for this application. The modified checksum is also considered in the context of algorithm based fault tolerance schemes and it is again concluded that it can contribute to the overall scheme efficiency and effectiveness. The modified checksum is hence shown to be an algorithmic tool that can significantly contribute to the design of reliable and fault tolerant computing systems, such as the ones used for military systems or other applications that operate in adverse environments.

Abstract: In this article, a study is presented that aims at the development of a prototype system for the secure real-time exchange of messages between users of workstations connected to the same TCP/IP network. The security is provided based on the AES prototype cryptographic algorithm. An advanced key management scheme is used within this system that enhances the security of the system, reduced the effects of possible security breaches and simultaneously hides from users the unnecessary complexity related to handling multiple encryption keys. The scope of application is military units and is intended to become the basis for the design and development of an integrated framework for the exchange of secure messages between different sites of military or other organizations that are concerned about information security. The present design is limited in its application to local area networks only. There are however no fundamental restrictions and an expansion to wide area netw!
orks and the internet is also possible. The design of the application is firstly presented. Problems of security and ease of use that are related to the management of the secret encryption keys are explained. A solution is hence presented for these problems, that is based on an innovative scheme for key storage and management. The design and implementation of the application is presented in detail along with description of its basic functionality. The plans for application and further development of the application are described and conclusions are finally drawn.

Abstract: This paper investigates the issue of real time simulations using MATLAB as a tool. Real-time systems are loosely defined as the class of computer systems that interact in a time frame defined by the external world. It is an environment where a single computer is a host and a target. After creating a model and simulating it with simulink in normal mode we can generate executable codes with real time workshop. Here we have used MATLAB as an application tool which provide us the specialized tool boxes for specific areas. The real time window target communicates with the executable program acting as a control program and interfaces with the hardware device through the I/O port. Here we tried to analyze a magnetic levitation system. The control goal is to suspend a steel sphere by means of a magnetic field counteracting the force of gravity and to be able to apply a controlled disturbance to force the sphere to follow a predetermined trajectory. The control to be app!
lied is the voltage, which is converted into a current via internal circuitry in the controller located in the mechanical unit. The current passes through and an electromagnet which creates a magnetic field in its vicinity. The sphere is placed along the vertical axis of the electromagnet after the control system is started in the software. In this way a approach towards real time workshop is analyzed and applied.

Abstract: In this paper we introduce a fast algorithm that can detect the most unusual part of a digital image. The most unusual part of a given shape is defined as a part of the image that has the maximal distance to all non intersecting shapes with the same form. The method is tested on two and three-dimensional images and have shown very good results without any predefined model. The results can be used to scan large image databases, as for example medical databases.

Abstract: abstract :- Voided slab bridge deck composed of two continuous span is 17.3m Long and 16m width with all over depth of 0.9m. The voided slab is composed of 20cm top and bottom slabs with circular voided areas of 50cm in diameter and center to center of these circles of 75cm. The locations of AASHTO loadings are positioned at certain points of deck slab to give maximum positive and negative shearings. These locations are determined from one dimensional model. The analysis of the bridge deck is carried out by two approaches. The first is AASHTO specifications where one dimensional approach is adopted and the second is three dimensional approach where finite element analysis is considered. The maximum shears obtained by both methods are found to be in good agreement with negligible differences.

Abstract: This paper addresses the problem of conventional FFT/IFFT problem in high speed applications. When the number of data points are the power of four at that time it is wise able to use radix-4 algorithm instead of using the conventional radix-2 algorithm. Here a 16 point radix-4 IFFT algorithm is taken into consideration. It offers fewer multiplications than the processors using radix-2.Number of stages are also minimum in comparison to the other. A novel and simple architecture of this IFFT algorithm is presented. It includes pipelining and parallelism in together. With the concurrent use of pipelining and parallelism the advantages of minimization of latency time and the increment of the throughput rate can be achieved. This architecture incorporates Radix-4 CORDIC which provides almost multiplier less architecture. The whole radix-4 CORDIC based radix-4 IFFT architecture is implemented on a FPGA device at operating frequency of 50 MHz with the accuracy up to 32 !
bit precision. Only 43% of the total area is consumed by the implemented architecture

Abstract: The present paper will investigate adaptive reuse and sustainability of existing buildings and historic ones by having special consideration for Iran's climate change. Abstract: The administration and management of a farmer¡¦s associations are governed by Farmer¡¦s Association Act and Regulations of Credit Division of a Farmer¡¦s Association to ensure a solid and solvent management of a farmer-oriented financial institution, guarantee the benefits and privileges of account holders, and promote the economic development and prosperity of the communities for farmers and fishermen. Abstract: Local utilities face new challenges under changing conditions of the energy sector by the application of decentralized energy management systems which strongly depend on information of the grid state. Due to distribution grids are not entirely observed missing data has to be approximated i.e. using load profiles. Furthermore, future distribution grids have to offer system services similar to transmission systems and thus reactive power profiles are strongly needed for demand management, stability concerns and cost optimization. In this paper a method to determine load profiles based on measured time-series is introduced as well as eleven independent reference profiles of reactive power of classified load types. In combination with existing active load profiles the gained information shall be used for state identification of underdetermined grids, to support energy management systems and to forecast load demands.

Abstract: The plate-type electrostatic precipitators have long been used by industry applications as the preferred method for controlling pollution with dust particles. The paper analyze the collection efficiency, for electrostatic precipitators with three sections (still, there is in industry applications), when are used different voltage supplies of electrostatic precipitators sections, the gas particles mass distributions, element average V-I curves, onset Corona voltage, spark discharge voltage, current density, collection efficiency, the inlet and the outlet dust concentration for different energization of sections. It's been performed an analysis of the total harmonic distortion coefficient of the current absorbed by the source, the supply voltage, the apparent and active power (for fundamental and harmonics), and the power factor (global, fundamental's and deforming) in situation when the current's value from the ESP field was superiorly limited.

Abstract: This paper presents the development of a mecatronic unit EOD/IEDD [1] (explosive ordinance disposal/ improvised explosive device disposal), by carrying out a modeling and simulation of a proposed PID control, this unit is applied to perform hazardous-duty operations. The mechatronic unit uses an interchangeable gripper, a robotic arm with 5 degrees of freedom Stanford type, a climbing system and 3 CCD cameras, from which one of them is controlled through wireless signal. Two simulations are executed, one simulation for the arm and the other for the vehicle, such that the errors in the model can be detected and later confined by control.

Abstract: A novel optimal method is developed to improve the identification and estimation of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The idea comes from the fact that the main drawback of T-S model is that it can not be applied when the membership functions are overlapped by pairs. This limits the application of the T-S model because this type of membership function has been widely used in the stability and controller design of fuzzy systems. It is also very popular in industrial control applications. The method presented here can be considered as a generalized version of T-S fuzzy model with optimized performance in approximating nonlinear functions. Various examples are chosen to show the high function approximation accuracy and fast convergence obtained by applying the proposed method in approximating nonlinear systems locally and globally in comparison with the original T-S model.

Abstract: The RAMS-CALMET-CALGRID modelling system developed by the LaMMA consortium has been used as a supporting tool in the framework of the "MODIVASET" project promoted by the Tuscan Regional Government with the aim of modelling emission scenarios variations. The system is based on the RAMS meteorological model forecasting and the CALGRID photochemical grid dispersion model, being suitably modified for the present work to be applied for inert pollutants. As a matter of fact, the attention was paid to particulate matter (PM10) primary component, as well as Nitrogen Dioxides (NOx), which is one of main precursors of PM10 secondary inorganic component. Both pollutants have been treated as inert ones. A one-year long-term application of RAMS-CALMET-CALGRID has been carried out over the Florence metropolitan area, Italy. The study area is 49x40 Km2 wide, featuring a 1-Km spaced 3-D computational grid. The main project's aim is to assess possible air quality improvements after!
a number of interventions on emission scenarios have been planned by local authorities. Therefore, basing on IRSE regional emission inventory, two PM10 and NOx emission scenarios have been set: a present one, updated to 2003, and a future one, projected to years 2010-2012, where "business as usual" emission variations are supposed to occur. All types of emission sources have been taken into account, i.e. point, line and area (split into 4 sub-categories) ones. This enabled single contributions brought by any to be assessed, as well as the overall one. Summarizing, a total of 28 run combinations (2 scenarios by 2 pollutants by 7 source categories) have been performed by the modelling system. CALGRID-calculated PM10 and NOx concentrations resulting from present and future emission scenarios have been compared, both in terms of spatial pattern over the study area and local one to a number of chemical stations. The final result was a general NOx concentration reduction in the !
order of 10÷35%, particularly effective over the Florence and Prato ur
ban areas. On the contrary, primary PM10 concentrations proved to decrease, about 15% over the Florence urban area, as well as increase, 10÷15% over the mountainous area Northwest to Pistoia. Summarizing, the proper use of an integrated modelling system proved to be a fundamental tool for planning emission scenarios variations to improve air quality standards. Moreover, methodologies implemented and results achieved in the present paper are in agreement with other similar scenarios analysis works.

Abstract: Multiple radar system and spread spectrum communication system can fundamentally improve the system performance by using a group of specially designed orthogonal signals. A Modified Simulated Annealing Algorithm (MSAA) is proposed as a statistical technique for obtaining approximate solutions to combinatorial optimization problems. The Proposed algorithm is a combination of Simulated Annealing and Hamming Scan algorithms. MSAA is used to design orthogonal eight-phase sequence sets, which have good autocorrelation and crosscorrelation properties. Some of the synthesized results are presented, and their properties are better than four-phase sequence sets known in the literature. The synthesized eight-phase sequence sets are promising for practical application to multiple Radar system and spread spectrum communication. The convergence rate of the algorithm is shown to be good.

Abstract: Abstract— This paper focuses on the modified design and implementations of Current Reuse (Single ended and Differential mode) CMOS Low noise amplifiers comprising voltage shunt inductive feed back cells targeted for wireless sensor network applications. Key issues in wireless sensor network receivers are discussed and the existing circuit level implementations of Low noise amplifiers are compared. Emphasis was placed on observing device reliability constraints at low power to maximize the life time of the wireless sensor nodes. The proposed single ended LNA can operate at 2.4GHz and dissipates a power of 125µw from a 1V supply. It gives a Noise figure of 1.55B at 13.98 dB gain. The differential LNA consumes a power of 200µw and gives an IIP3 of 0.7 dBm at 2.4 GHz frequency.

Abstract: The problem of minimizing the number of vertex-guards necessary to cover a given simple polygon (MINIMUM VERTEX GUARD (MVG) problem) is NP-hard. This computational complexity opens two lines of investigation: the development of algorithms that establish approximate solutions and the determination of optimal solutions for special classes of simple polygons. In this paper we follow the first line of investigation and propose an approximation algorithm based on general metaheuristic genetic algorithms to solve the MVG problem. Based on our algorithm, we conclude that on average the minimum number of vertex-guards needed to cover an arbitrary and an orthogonal polygon with n vertices is n/6.38 and n/6.40 , respectively. We also conclude that this result is very satisfactory in the sense that it is always close to optimal (with an approximation ratio of 2, for arbitrary polygons; and with an approximation ratio of 1.9, for orthogonal polygons).

Abstract: In tension systems, the main concern is to decouple the tension and velocity in spite of radius variations and other perturbations. To solve this control problem and design the optimal controller, this paper develops a mixed-sensitivity robust control based on self-optimizing algorithm. First, the modeling of the tension system is presented with relative theorems. Second, a mixed-sensitivity robust control which reduces the coupling between tension and velocity is compared to PID controller. But the controller is conservative, the controller method with parameter fuzzification is introduced. At low velocity, the control method with parameter fuzzification gets fine results. However, for the high velocity and real time requirements of tension system, the control method with parameter fuzzification cannot keep the controller optimal always. Therefore the tension robust control strategy based on self-optimizing algorithm is proposed. The controller is optim!
ized by hyper generation GA (HGGA) which reduces computing time. Furthermore, the current error and the change of the error are turned to compensate time delay. In order to test the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms, the tension experiment platform analog system is developed based on DSP (TMS320LF2407A) board. Finally the algorithms in this paper are tested in tension system platform, and the feasibility has been verified.

Abstract: The paper presents the way to use Lyapunov techniques to analyse and to assure stability of control systems with fuzzy PI controllers. The stability is assured based on a compensation of the input-output characteristic of the fuzzy blocks used in PI fuzzy controller. The compensation is made on fuzzy control law by the action in parallel of a crisp block for non-linear parts of input saturations. Stability analysis of fuzzy control systems for general processes is framed in the field of non-linear systems. The paper presents the way to prove absolute global internal stability in general cases. The correction principle is theoretically substantiated and methodologically structured with application at the fuzzy control of the second order processes.

Abstract: This paper shows the results of the computer analysis of images for the purpose of finding differences between medical images in order to classify them in terms of separating a malign tissue from normal and benign tissue. The diagnostics of malign tissue is of the crucial importance in medicine. In this paper, we are presenting an algorithm that provides approximate comparative match between any input strands. It will overcome the draw backs and short comings in prevailing techniques. It becomes most difficult to find approximate match when Genome Adoptive Points (GAPS) are present in the input sequences, this algorithms tries to handle the complex situations and finds the number of approximate matches for optimal results.

Abstract: This study seeks to examine, through empirical evidence, the relative explanatory power of three prospective models in predicting users¡¦ continuous adoption of information system (IS). The three models include: Expectation-Confirmation Theory Model (ECTM, Model 1), the integration of ECTM with Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) (ECT-TAM model, Model 2), and a hybrid model integrating ECT, TAM and emotions (Model 3). Three hundred and fifty web portal site users were obtained from a survey. The paper assessed the psychometric properties of the measures through confirmatory factor analysis and then employed structural equation modeling analysis in order to examine and compare the ability of the three prospective models to better predict users¡¦ continuous adoption of IS. Data analysis using LISREL shows that all three models meet the various goodness-of-fit criteria. In terms of variance explained for intention to continue IS usage, all three models perform equally!
well. As for the explanatory power of satisfaction, Model 3 has the highest R2 (71%), followed by Model 2 (69%), and Model 1 (68%). This result confirms the erstwhile discussion of continuance intention behavior in which adding emotion factors to the cognitive process model will enhance the predictive power of the satisfaction. Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use predict the level of user satisfaction better than emotions and perceived usefulness is the stronger predictor of user satisfaction than other variables. The Model 3 provides additional information to increase our understanding of IS continuance intention behavior.

Abstract: Many studies reported that the hematocrit (HCT) is the most highly influencing factor affecting the accuracy of the glucose measurements by portable/handheld devices. It is also known as an important factor for clinical decision-making situations. Therefore, estimation of HCT plays a crucial role for enhancing accuracy of glucose measurements and performance of therapy. In this paper, we present novel methods for hematocrit estimation from the transduced current curve which is produced by glucose-oxidase reaction in strip-type electrochemical biosensors. The proposed methods are nonlinear, including neural networks and support vector machine. Input features are composed of two parts: the sampled points of the time-varying current curve and extended extra features computed from those sampled points.

Abstract: Problems associated to the performance, delivery and quality of product or services emanating from ineffective performance of the human resource in the Malaysian built environment are a continuing debate. Abstract: After a presentation of the complexity to apply the fuzzy logic on industrial systems, we present the issues involved in the application of the fuzzy logic particularly the way to approach a control or classification problem. In order to deal with these issues, we present a case study of a grading system of cereals that allows us to determine the price of transactions of cereals (Durum wheat, Soft wheat, Barley, etc.). Abstract: The efficient management of industrial systems can be only in a system whose activities are synchronized thus enabling a good traceability. This is why the development of a reliable Information System is a primordial objective of industrial systems. To this effect, we elaborated in this paper a methodology of designing automated systems using participative methods on the one hand and we present the issues involved in upgrading the industrial systems on the other hand. Abstract: Nowadays, large amount of data is being increase explosively and rapidly by development of Information Technology. Data can be large in terms of size, dimensionality, or both in World Wide Web. Consequently, we have some difficulties for extracting useful knowledge from massive data in the task of data mining. In order to support data mining, many approaches are proposed. Classification and clustering are two forms of data mining, which are used to extract useful knowledge from raw data and classify a data item into one of several predefined categorical classes. In clustering, a given set of data can be mapped into one of several clusters based on similarity metrics or probability density models. In this paper, as a Data Mining approach, we have proposed a Rough Concept Analysis and developed Rough Concept Analyzer for extracting hidden knowledge easily from given vague data. Also we show some experiments that demonstrate how our approach can be applied in World Wi!
de Web mining. Our research results would be helpful for clustering and classification of the vague web data, in particular when dealing with the uncertain data resources.

Abstract: Risk management is an essential fraction of project management, which plays a significant role in project success. Many failures associated with Web projects are the consequences of poor awareness of the risks involved and lack of process models that can serve as a guideline for the development of Web based applications. To circumvent this problem, contemporary process models have been devised for the development of conventional software. This paper introduces the WPRiMA (Web Project Risk Management Assessment) as the tool, which is used to implement RIAP, the risk identification architecture pattern model, which focuses upon the data from the proprietor's and vendor's perspectives. The paper also illustrates how WPRiMA tool works and how it can be used to calculate the risk level for a given Web project, to generate recommendations in order to facilitate risk avoidance in a project, and to improve the prospects of early risk management.

Abstract: The determination of a specific orbit and the procedure to calculate orbital maneuvers for artificial satellites are problems of extreme importance in the study of orbital mechanics. Therefore, the transferring problem of a spaceship from one orbit to another, and the attention to this subject has increased during the last years. Many applications can be found in several space activities, for example, to put a satellite in a geostationary orbit, to change the position of a spaceship, to maintain a specific satellite's orbit, in the design of an interplanetary mission, and others. The orbit and the general data of the Brazilian Satellite SCD-1 (Data Collecting Satellite) will be used as example in this paper. It is the first satellite developed entirely in Brazil, and it remains in operation to this date. SCD-1 was designed, developed, built, and tested by Brazilian scientists, engineers, and technicians working at INPE (National Institute for Space Research) and in!

During its lifetime we will study its orbital behavior and we will perform some orbital maneuvers that could be necessary, being this one either an orbital transferring, or just to make periodical corrections. The purpose of the transferring problem is to change the position, velocity and the satellite's mass to a new pre-determined state. This transfer can be totally linked (in the case of "Rendezvous") or partially free (free time, free final velocity, etc). In the global case, the direction, the orientation and the magnitude of the thrust to be applied must be chosen, respecting the equipment's limit. In order to make this transferring, either sub-optimal or optimal maneuvers may be used. In the present study, only the sub-optimal will be shown, since we want to study an algorithm for this type of maneuver. Hence, this method will simplify the direction of thrust application, to allow a fast calculation that may be used in real time, with a very fa!

assumed small and constant, and the purpose of this paper is to find the time interval that the thrust is applied. This paper is basically divided into three parts: during the first one the sub-optimal maneuver is explained and detailed, the second presents the Satellite SCD-1, and finally the last part shows the results using the sub-optimal maneuver applied to the Brazilian Satellite.

Abstract: The paper presents a current-mode CMOS image sensor embedded smooth spatial filter algorithm with a flash analog-to-digital (A/D) converter. The sensor includes a 66¡Ñ66 pixel array with an on-chip 6-bit A/D converter that can identify the output value of pixels in gray level resolution. The last row of pixel cells (1¡Ñ66) based on the double sampling is used for reducing fixed pattern noise (FPN). Processing circuits are dedicated for the spatial filter algorithm and support reusability to increase the image processing speed and to reduce the design complexity and chip area. The sensor chip has been designed and implemented in TSMC 0.35ƒÝm 2P4M CMOS mixed-mode process. Experimental results show that each pixel occupies a area of 15.8ƒÝm¡Ñ10.6ƒÝm with a fill factor of 37.2%. The power consumption is 35.15mW when the sensor operates at 175 frames/second.
