Abstract: Abstract: - The shapes of motor unit action potentials (MUAPs) in an electromyographic (EMG) signal provide an important source of information for the diagnosis of neuromuscular disorders. In order to extract this information from the EMG signals recorded at low to moderate force levels, it is required to: i) identify the MUAPs composed by the EMG signal, ii) cluster the MUAPs with similar shapes, iii) extract the features of the MUAP clusters and iv) classify the MUAPs according to pathology. In this work, three techniques for segmentation of EMG signal are presented: i) segmentation by identifying the peaks of the MUAPs, ii) by finding the beginning extraction point (BEP) and ending extraction point (EEP) of MUAPs and iii) by using discrete wavelet transform (DWT). For the clustering of MUAPs, statistical pattern recognition technique based on euclidian distance is used. The autoregressive (AR) features of the clusters are computed and are given to a multi-clas!
s support vector machine (SVM) classifier for their classification. A total of 12 EMG signals obtained from 3 normal (NOR), 5 myopathic (MYO) and 4 motor neuron diseased (MND) subjects were analyzed. The success rate for the segmentation technique used peaks to extract MUAPs was highest (95.90%) and for the statistical pattern recognition technique was 93.13%. The classification accuracy of multi-class SVM was 100%.

Abstract: For enterprises, customer relationships have been commonly recognized as a critical factor to succeed their business. Effective customer relationships could help enterprises deliver services to customers based on their needs, preferences, or past transactions. This model however emphasizes on the use of customer information for benefiting enterprises; customers in contrast receive less information from enterprises. To address this issue, a new paradigm, namely Consumer Support Systems (CSS) is initiated to support effective information provision for customers to help on their decision making. In this paper, we present an ontology-based architecture for such a new CSS paradigm. The architecture starts from the identification of CSS characteristics, through the recognition of architectural components that support the realization of these issues, and finally ends with the specification of collaborations among architectural components to realize these issues. In partic!
ular, for those inherent integration issues in CSS, it imposes semantic ontologies on the specifications to facilitate integration among customers and enterprises. The architecture is modeled by UML and illustrated by a CSS for travel arrangement.

Abstract: Geographical Information System (GIS) technology integrates hardware, software and spatial data for capturing, storing, updating, managing, analyzing and displaying geographical data and phenomena. Spatiotemporal analysis of such phenomena is one of the major tasks of a GIS. In this paper, we use GIS for the modeling of the exposure to direct sun light in a rural road network. When a vehicle is moving towards the direction of the sun, drivers may experience temporary loss of vision. The main target is to build a system able to identify road sections at risk due to direct sun-light for a specific time period. The proposed methodology is based on the road network geometry, the relief of the study area under investigation (Digital Elevation Model – DEM) and the sun position. The hillshade creation function and various filtering techniques have been adopted. These techniques are based on the geometry of road segments in comparison to the sun position. The output of t!
his analysis is the identification of road network parts that appeared at risk for a specific time period. The proposed method is implemented in Santorini Island during summertime period. The results in this case study shows that a significant part (5% of the total road network length) of the road network is highly exposed to the risk under investigation during the summer. Additionally, the implementation of the proposed method for a long time period allows a dynamic modeling of the conditions under investigation, and the adoption of various preventing actions.

Abstract: The liberalization of global trade has placed Taiwanese companies under unprecedented competitive pressures. Hospital information system (HIS) implementation is generally an extremely challenging task in hospitals. In fact, nurses, physicians and other healthcare employees, working with the HIS, spend a lot of time each day in completing forms, reviewing medical examination results and handling administrative information. HIS outsourcing thus is increasingly important in securing competitive advantage for hospitals and reducing the cost of HIS implementation. Obviously, the quality of HIS outsourcing significantly affects user satisfaction, though a dissatisfied users frequently end their relationship with the company and discuss negative experiences with friends. Therefore, an empirical work is conducted to clarify the frequency of negative critical incidents to improve overall user satisfaction. According to the analytical results, the explanatory power of overa!
ll satisfaction is 7.6% for positive quality attributes of HIS, and 16.46% for the frequency of negative critical incidents related to HIS outsourcing.

Abstract: Broadband internet has spread quickly in today¡¦s electronic society. Traditionally, users have not been satisfied by the delivery of text, picture, and music files. Therefore, the digital contents service has been expanding, and has been changing the existence, such as the e-mail, chatting, e-news, Live TV and radio. The multimedia-on-demand (MoD) is one of the services based on the digital contents issue to develop the related technology. This study replicates and expands the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) from information and system quality perspective, named extended TAM to measure the user¡¦s behaviour intention in multimedia-on-demand. Data were gathered from 300 potential users of MoD. Structural equation modelling was used to analysis the responses. Analytical results indicated that the extended TAM to have a good fit to data. The predictive power of TAM and extended TAM for behaviour intention are both 83%. However, extended TAM has a higher predictive !
power for perceived usefulness (47%) and attitude (70%) than TAM (19% and 69%, respectively) in the context of MoD. This finding demonstrates that extended TAM in MoD only addresses the user¡¦s behaviour intention, but can also consider the information and system quality.

Title of the Paper: Adaptive Beamforming with Novel Blocking Matrix Design Using Matched Filter Ratio Array for Generalized Sidelobe Canceller

Number of paper pages: 10
Abstract: A novel blocking matrix design technique is proposed for adaptive beamforming of microphone array based on the generalized sidelobe canceller (GSC) structure. The classical GSC presented by Griffiths and Jim suffers from desired signal cancellation problems due to the complicated acoustic environment. To overcome this issue, this work utilizes the pseudo-inverse property of matched filter array and subarray structure to design a new blocking matrix of the GSC. For practical implementation, matched filter ratios between microphone pairs are estimated, as compared with estimating matched filters from the sound source to each microphone. In addition, since most additive noises in signal are non-Gaussian, the adaptive filtering is applied to adaptive interference canceller to enhance the robustness to the system model dynamics. Simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract: In this paper a cumulant-based method for identification of gait using accelerometer data is presented. Acceleration data of three different walking speeds (slow, normal and fast) for each subject was acquired by the accelerometer embedded in cell phone which was attached to the person's hip. Data analysis was based on gait cycles that were detected first. Cumulants of order from 1 to 4 with different number of lags were calculated. Feature vectors for classification were built using dimension reduction on calculated cumulants by principal component analysis (PCA). The classification was accomplished by support vector machines (SVM) with radial basis kernel. According to portion of variance covered in the calculated principal components, different lengths of feature vectors were tested. Six healthy young subjects participated in the experiment. The average person recognition rate based on gait classification was 90.3±3.2%. A similarity measure for discerning differ!
ent walking types of the same subject was also introduced using dimension reduction on accelerometer data by PCA.

Abstract: Recently, the spread of the Internet makes familiar to the incident concerning the Internet, such as a DoS attack and a DDoS attack. Some methods which detect the abnormal traffics in the network using the information from headers and payloads of IP-packets transmitted in the networks are proposed. In this research, the method for the analysis of the flow of IP packet based on SOM (Self-Organizing Map) using the occurrence rate of the elements in IP-packets as input vectors is proposed. The flow of the packets can be visualized on the map and it will be available for detecting the abnormal flows of packets.

Abstract: In Cellular Mobile Networks, assigning of cells to switch is known as assignment problem. The conventional integer programming method could be used for solving this problem, but then, when the number of cells exceeds 35, the total computational data surpass the memory available, computational time grow too larger and it becomes unfeasible to obtain the optimal solution. Thus this assignment problem defined above is a complex integer programming problem which has been proved to be NP hard problem. Abstract: In order to evaluate the impulse magnetic field distribution inside buildings truck by lightning or by nearby stokes, a set of measuring system composed of self-made magnetic detection coil and fiber transmission system was developed. The sensitivity coefficient of the optical fiber transmission system was calibrated by sine wave generator. Connecting the output of a portable 8/20¦Ìs current generator with a circular coil whose diameter is 0.3 m to compose the magnetic field generator, the detection coil was fixed in the center of the circular coil for calibration. The B/V calibrated coefficient error of the system is less than 3%. A demonstrating application of the developed measurement system is in the investigation of the electromagnetic environment in buildings under direct and nearby lightning strokes. Experimental verification of such application has been carried out on metal frame structure models of building in laboratory. Two scaled metal frame structure !
models are set up in the laboratory. The measured transient magnetic field distributions inside the building frame structures are verified by comparison of the testing results with the calculated results using the circuit method simulation. In the circuit method, the lightning channel and the building¡¯s metal cage are modeled by a multi-conductor system. Every branch conductor is divided into several suitable segments. The length of each segment is less than one tenth of the wavelength corresponding to the maximum frequency in the equivalent spectrum of the lightning transient current. Each segment is modeled by a coupled -type lumped circuit. The test results of the developed measurement system coincide with the calculated results well. Under the situation of nearby lightning strokes, the developed measurement system is also used for the investigation of the shielding effectiveness of the building frame structure. The test results of the shielding effectiveness on the me!
tal frame structure model shows that the effectiveness coefficient inc
reases with the decrease of grid width of the frame. While the width of the grid changes from 0.5m to 0.25m, there is an increase of shielding effectiveness of approximately 10.2%. While the width of grid changes from 0.25 m to 0.125 m, the shielding effectiveness increases about 5%. To simulate the situation when metal plate wall exists in the building, 0.5 mm steel plate was attached on the frame structure model. Under such situation, the shielding effectiveness increases to 4.9. The application experiments of the developed measurement system show that it can fulfill the requirements of lightning impulse magnetic field measurement.

Abstract: On the physical point of view, the dewetting phenomenon is governed by the Young-Laplace equation of a capillary surface in equilibrium, which is a nonlinear partial differential equation of second order. Starting from this equation, an analytical expression of the meniscus surface in zero gravity condition was established, leading to important information about the meniscus shape, useful for further stability analysis of the growth process. The analytical results were validated by the numerical studies. Therefore, the Young-Laplace equation has been solved numerically, in the axi-symmetric case, using the adaptive 4th order Runge-Kutta method for InSb crystals.

The interest of the model is around the maximum value of the contact force, which physically means that the wheel is closed to a block situation. After this we obtained the characteristic values for every subsystem, and the model is evaluated for a metropolitan transport bus, Finally, considering the constant time for changes on the angular velocity as characteristic time we apply the fractional analysis to obtain a reduced order model of a vehicle, for the simulation the parameters of a bus were considered and the result the dynamics with enough accuracy for the conditions considered.

Abstract: The aim of this article is to propose three different solutions to stabilise the four DC input voltages of a Five-level Neutral Point Clamped Voltage Source Inverter (NPC VSI). For this, we use cascades based on respectively one, two or four two-level Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) current rectifier controlled by sliding mode control. In the first case, a clamping bridge composed by four switches and two resistors, in the second two switches and one resistor make up the bridge and no one is used in the last case. Those cascades are used for the speed control by sliding mode of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine.

Abstract: Control of an industrial robot includes nonlinearities, uncertainties and external perturbations that should be considered in the design of control laws. inverse dynamics control is a well-known conventional motion control strategy for manipulators which ensures global asymptotic stability for fixed symmetric positive definite (proportional and derivative) gain matrices. To enhance the inverse dynamics controller performance for the control of rigid planar robot manipulators, in this paper, a fuzzy precompensation of a hybrid fuzzy inverse dynamics controller is proposed. The proposed control scheme consists of a fuzzy logic-based precompensator followed by a hybrid fuzzy inverse dynamics controller. The hybrid fuzzy control is a supervisory hierarchical fuzzy controller (SHFC) for tuning the Proportional and Derivative gains of the conventional controller according to the actual tracking position error and the actual tracking velocity error. The hierarchical contr!
ol scheme of the hybrid fuzzy controller consists of an intelligent upper level supervisory fuzzy controller and a lower level direct conventional PD controller. The upper level controller provides a mechanism to the main goal of the system and the lower level controller delivers the solutions to a particular situation. Numerical simulations using the dynamic model of three DOF planar rigid robot manipulator with uncertainties show the effectiveness of the approach in trajectory tracking problems. Performance indices i.e. integral absolute error (IAE) and integral time multiplied absolute error (ITAE) are used for comparison. Our results show that precompensation of a hybrid fuzzy inverse dynamics controller have superior performance compared to a conventional inverse dynamics controller.

Abstract: In this study, a real time 3D virtual simulation software for visualizing the military battlefields was developed. Developed software, named Sandbox, used elevation data stored in DEM format corresponding to the battlefield. Sandbox uses this data to create the platform on which the military units will be added. Different military units can be added in the software. Military units were viewed by both using a recent military symbology, NATO-APP-6A, and 3D models of the real military units. Software uses translation animation for the position updates. Since data transmission between different platforms was considered, developed software extensively uses XML based data. A database was used for long term storage of received reports. Web services were used to transmit and receive reports to/from remote field observers and change the state of the software.

Abstract: The digital format of music led to the necessity of creating big music libraries in the Internet, which provide the user with great possibilities of acquiring and listening to music. These Digital Music Libraries (DMLs) should fulfill the user communities¢ needs. Since DMLs do not deal with pure text, but with sound and its several representations, special treatment is needed during their development. This paper presents the crucial issues concerning the implementation of a DML and the user-DML interaction. The implementation issues are categorized in a useful framework taking into account the keys of success of the most popular DMLs worldwide, while the interaction issues are applied on MELIRIS music repository.

Abstract: Characteristic shifts for the Subcarpathians is that they are distinguished by their combination and development within the source area. The slopes, mostly cleared, are used for pasture and crops apple growing. The response induced by its negative influences on the process of preparation and triggering landslides (deforestation, overgrazing, cutting of slopes exploata in quarries or underground). The peculiarities of geological, hydrogeological and geomorphological are identified as unfavorable for years to rainfall. The excessive amounts of water given by the heavy rains and long duration of previous years and the rapid melting of snow due to high temperatures, determined the change in the balance on slopes which are of localities, socioeconomic institutions, channels of communication, and apple growing agricultural crops, forest areas. Landslides, next generation natural factors, are determined by processes antropogènes (fund holdings irrational forest exploitati!

Abstract: It is well known that the vibrations are a major cause for the instability in the mechanical systems and major source of noises. In this paper we propose a simple system with two degrees of freedom based on a non-linear elastic element and the hypothesis for the coefficients of the elastic force.. For this system, it is proved in the present paper that the motion is stable, but not asymptotically stable. A comparison between the non-linear case and the linear case is performed, and for the both cases the eigenpulsations are also determined. All theoretical results are validated by numerical simulation. Finally, we considered the general case.

Abstract: In this paper we propose a performance measurement and queueing analysis for medium-high blocking probability where the service rate is less than equal to the arrival rate of parallel connection servers, and for which we can estimate the system response time. First, we calculate the system response time of the parallel network. Second, we simulate the queueing model of the parallel network and calculate the system response time. Third, we measure the system response time by using different numbers of ASP multiplication loops to represent the different service rates of the parallel network. Fourth, we take 30,000 data for imitation as the foundation and use linear regression to compare the measurements of both the system response time and the search service rates of the actual system under different service load conditions. Abstract: This paper presents a new extension for the effect of Radiation on MHD Natural Convection Flow with Variable Viscosity from a Porous Vertical Plate. The governing boundary layer equations are first transformed into a non dimensional form and the resulting non linear system of partial differential equations are then solved numerically using finite difference method together with Keller-Box scheme. The numerical results show that the variable viscosity affects the surface shear stress and the rate of heat transfer which are here in terms of skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number. It affects velocity as well as temperature profiles also. These are shown graphically and tabular form for a selection of parameters set of consisting of viscosity variation parameter ƒ×, magnetohydrodynamic parameter M, radiation effect Rd, Prandtl number Pr.

Abstract: Abstract: - Modeling business processes is vital when improving or automating existing business processes, documenting processes properly or comparing business processes. In addition, it is necessary to evaluate the quality of a business process model through a set of quality metrics. One specific categorie of such metrics is coupling which measures the functional and informational dependencies between the tasks/processes in a business process model. Our contribution in this paper consists in adapting object oriented software coupling metrics for business process models. This adaptation is based on correspondences we establish between concepts of the Business Process Modeling Notation and object oriented concepts. The new adapted coupling metrics offer more information about the dependencies among processes and their tasks in terms of data and control. They can be used, for instances to evaluate the transferability effects of errors occurring in a particular task/!

Abstract: This paper studies the stabilization of the infinite-dimensional linear time-varying system with state delays ÿx = A(t)x + A1(t)x(t − h) + B(t)u . The operator A(t) is assumed to be the generator of a strong evolution operator. In contrast to the previous results, the stabilizability conditions are obtained via solving a Riccati differential equation and do not involve any stability property of the evolution operator. Our conditions are easy to construct and to verify. We provide a step-by-step procedure for finding feedback controllers and state stability conditions for some linear delay control systems with nonlinear perturbations.

Abstract: This paper is concerned with the problem of delay-dependent stability analysis for discrete-time systems with interval-like time-varying delays and the problem of stabilization for discrete-time linear systems via time-delayed controllers. The first problem is solved by applying a novel Lyapunov functional, and an improved delay-dependent stability criterion is obtained in terms of a linear matrix inequality. Based on this, a sufficient condition for the solvability of the second problem is presented. The reduced conservatism of the proposed stability result is shown through a numerical example.

The classification accuracy of multi-class SVM with AR features was 100%.

Abstract: Nonlinear boundary value problem of the Young-Laplace equation which describes the meniscus free surface in semiconductor crystals grown by Dewetted Bridgman technique is considered. The statically stability of the menisci, via the conjugate point criterion of the calculus of variations, is investigated in the cases of the classical semiconductors grown in (i) uncoated crucibles (i.e., the wetting angle èc and growth angle áe satisfy the inequality èc+áe<180°), and (ii) coated crucibles or pollution (èc+áe>=180°). Necessary or sufficient conditions for the existence of the statically stable convex (or concave, convex-concave, concave-convex) solutions of the considered BVP are established.

Abstract: The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite navigation system that allows the users to determine 3D positioning and the time with high precision. Its main purposes are: aid to radionavigation in three dimensions with high precision positioning, navigation in real time, time synchronization, global coverage and quick acquisition of data signal sent by the GPS satellites. In this work, it is proposed to estimate, in real time, an orbital state vector composed by position, velocity, bias and drift of the GPS receiver clock on board satellites by processing the raw navigation solution obtained by the on-board receiver. In this work the Kalman filter is used to estimate the state vector based on the stepwise incoming navigation solution from the receiver. The Kalman filter is used due to its robustness in real time applications, without unnecessary storage of observations, as they can be processed while being collected. The filter dynamic model includes perturbat!
ion due to geopotential, solar radiation pressure and perturbations due to the Sun and the Moon and the observations are the raw navigation solution composed of position and receiver clock bias. Simulations and tests are done using actual data from TOPEX/POSEIDON satellite. For performance assessment, a comparison is done between the estimated state vector and the precise orbit ephemeris (POE) produced by JPL/NASA.

Abstract: Abstract:- With the massive rise in the volume of information available on the World Wide Web these days, and the emergence requirements for a superior technique to access this information, there has been a strong resurgence of interest in web mining research. Web mining is a critical issue in data mining as well as other information process techniques to the World Wide Web to discover useful patterns. People can take advantage of these patterns to access the World Wide Web more efficiently. Web mining can be divided into three categories such as content mining, usage mining, and structure mining. In this paper we are going to apply web content mining to extract non-English knowledge from the web. We will investigate and evaluate some common methods; using web mining systems which have to deal with issues in language-specific text processing. Arabic language-independent algorithm will be used as a machine learning system. The algorithm will use a set of feature!
s as a vector of keywords for the learning process to apply text classification for the system. The algorithm usually used to classify a various number of documents written in a non English text language. The techniques used in the algorithm to categorize and classified the documents are two classifiers: Classifier K-Nearest Neighbor (CK-NN) and Classifier Naïve Bayes (CNB). However, the algorithms usually depend on some phrase segmentation and extraction programs to generate a set of features or keywords to represent the retrieved web documents. A proposed Arabic text classification system will be called Arabic Text Classifier (ATC). The main goal of ATC is to compares the results between both classifiers used (CK-NN, CNB) and select the best average accuracy result rates to start a retrieving process. The theorem behind the ATC was introduced in this paper without demonstrating any practical views of the system.

Abstract: Hydraulic regeneration propel system (HRPS) has been proven to be able to enhance the fuel economy and reduce the emission by regenerating the braking energy when it is installed in the existing conventional bus. The rebuilt bus is normally termed as the Hydraulic Hybrid Bus (HHB). This paper aims at exploiting full potential of the HRPS, so that the HHB is able to acquire minimum fuel consumption and maximum dynamic performance with minimum cost. The ideal point and weight square sum method is used to construct the evaluate function so as to consider the tradeoff among the objectives. The generation algorithm (GA) is used to solve the multi-objective optimization. The results of the optimization show that the improving of the dynamic performance combined with reduced cost and equivalent fuel-saving is possible. The optimal designing approach presented by this paper provides the theoretical directions for the design of HRPS for a HHB.

Abstract: The last decade offered the foundation of several seminal concepts, which although natively composite and complex, amply demonstrate the potential of 21st century technology to affect important societal trends. Among notable candidates, the convergence of technologies related to information and energy, has revealed the potential to reform conventional modes of operation towards a sustainable and more rational way of resources utilization. Perhaps the most profound example of this technological integration will be met in forthcoming planning of residential and industrial building design, where the rapid advance of co-generation technologies and respective legislation follow-up, pave the way for a vast growing market. The rational behind this blooming market becomes directly apparent, considering that the international power authorities and vendors, must –among many other issues such as power network safety- urgently address the gross imbalance between central power !
generation (93% global share), which is characterised by high losses from transmission and distribution (T&D) systems and inefficient power plants. Electricity losses are running at a minimum of 13.4% a year from developing countries T&D systems, while the efficiency of central power plants is only around 33%. This waste of energy, which is directly associated with the traditional model of central power generation -but can be largely stopped by the use of building-level cogeneration, is dragging along massive social, economic and environmental damage -particularly to the world's poor countries. Millions of people are failing to receive a supply of electricity as a consequence; national fuel bills are billions of dollars higher than they could be, and pollutant emissions are causing untold additional health and environmental harm. At this point it must be clearly stated, that at the context of this paper the term services is restrained to energy consumption reduction service!

Abstract: The paper analyzes power spectral density (PSD) of orthogonal pulse-based signals for time hopping ultra wideband (TH-UWB) systems. Our extensive studies show that the PSD of these signals not only depends on the time dithering code and the modulation schemes, but also on the energy spectral density (ESD) of orthogonal pulses. The different order orthogonal pulses provide different ESD which changes the shape of continuous spectral component with symbols. We show that orthogonal pulse-based signals reduce the dynamic range of amplitude of discrete spectral components. Further, we reduce the dynamic range by adopting longer TH code over orthogonal pulse-based signals. As a result, UWB system performance improves with average transmitted power. The theoretical analysis of PSD of orthogonal pulse-based TH-UWB signal is provided in details and verified through simulation results.

Abstract: Network Anomaly Detection covers wide area of research. Current best practices for identifying and diagnosing traffic anomalies consist of visualizing traffic from different perspectives and identifying anomalies from prior experience. Different tools have been developed to automatically generate alerts to failures, but to automate the anomaly identification process remains a challenge. Recently, Signal Processing techniques have found applications in Network Intrusion Detection System because of their ability of detecting novel intrusions and attacks, which cannot be achieved by signature-based detection systems. Visualization techniques are ways of creating and handling graphical representations of data. This survey explains the main techniques known in the field of Statistical based and Wavelet based anomaly detection approaches and focuses on the role of data traffic visualization tools in network traffic anomaly detection.

Abstract: This paper aims at providing the key aspects regarding vulnerability of supply chains and the way to make them more resilient. After having identified the most common threats affecting supply chains integrity, the success factors to build a resilient supply chain are provided. For instance, in the fashion goods context, particular phenomena cause unpredictable behaviours in the demand, so generating vulnerability in the relative supply chain. A KPIs methodology for studying the behaviour of these supply chains under these phenomena is proposed. This research represents the basis for a future work that will end up with the elaboration of a System Dynamics model able to reproduce the most significant dynamics of short life cycle products, such as electronic devices, with the goal of providing innovative solutions to make this kind of supply chains more resilient.

Abstract: This paper regards the analysis of the development of a logistics and transportation network concerning a steel plant. The main goal is to search for the best scenario that allows to supply the plant and to distribute all the finished products to final customers in the most efficient way. To this aim, a proper simulation model has been developed and implemented utilizing Logistics Re Designer (Lo. R. D.) software. More specifically, three different transportation networks have been created: two "single" modal choice scenarios - by road or by rail – and an "intermodal" one. Another system variable regards the production capacity of the steel plant: three different types of capacity have been considered; so in total nine scenarios have been taken into consideration. The results obtained indicate that the intermodal solution is the most suitable to be adopted both in terms of total time – and consequently costs - and resources required to perform all the neces!
sary operations. Future research will focus on the improvement of the solution found and on the development of an economical analysis.
