Abstract: Ant System (AS) was the first Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm, which converged too slowly and consumed huge computation. Ant Colony System (ACS) which converged rapidly was developed to overcome the backwards of AS, but it was in early stagnation usually. A novel algorithm Simple Hybrid Ant System (SHAS) which hybridizes the AS and the ACS was introduced in this paper. Experiments for Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) showed that better solutions were obtained at the same time when the convergence rate accelerated rapidly
