WSEAS: Submission Notification

Dear Dr. Danimir Mandic,

On behalf of the organizing committee of the 4th European Conference of Computer Science (ECCS13) to be held in Paris, France, October 29-31, 2013, we would like to thank you for submitting your paper.

The following contribution:

Title: This paper is the result of empirical research performed with the aim of analysing arithmetic actions of the students in solving tasks based on the structures of multiplication and to determine its connection with the existing strategies of learning. Results show that students of the second grade more often choose the method of counting and using time's table during solving tasks based on multiplicative structures than for the addition operation and application of arithmetic characteristics when their choice is completely justifiable. The best success id is shown by students when solving tasks in the iconic level, whereas weaker results were shown in work with definite materials and solving textual tasks. Summarising results, we have drawn the conclusion which point at the fact that building up the term of multiplication should be based on carefully chosen iconic surrounding and schemas which clearly show disjunction union of the same sets, even more than on definite life situations. Multimedia interactive software is one of the possible solutions for improving teaching in the field of essential mathematical concepts.
