Abstract: In this paper, we propose an object management method in large-scale heterogeneous P2P networks. In the proposed method, objects can be stored in and searched from nodes by considering node's capabilities. The proposed system is based on skip list, and two identifications are utilized; TypeID and HashID. The TypeID is used to specify each node's capabilities, on the other hand, HashID is used for providing load balancing among nodes with similar capabilities. According to the two identifications, message routing for storing and searching objects is performed. We evaluate the performance of the proposed method by simulation, and we investigate the effectiveness of the method. Numerical examples show that the proposed method can manage objects based on node's capabilities and can provide the scalability when the number of nodes is large and the difference in node's capabilities is large.

Abstract: The tuberculosis mortality rate has been declining steadily for many years. Despite the availability of chemotherapy, mortality remains high among patients hospitalized for tuberculosis. We performed a study to define the factors associated with mortality following in hospital diagnosis of tuberculosis between January 1998- December 2004 on 100 patients who died in Cluj Napoca Pneumology Hospital and compared the results with a second group with 120 TB patients with favourable evolution. We tried to identify what risk factors are associated with high mortality among tuberculosis patients under treatment. . Also, we evaluated the main causes of death. Gender is not prognostic factor for Tb attributable deaths (OR=1.11 CI 95% 0.52-2.41 p=0.77) Patients over 50 years had a high risk of death (p=0,001). Urban residence was a significant prognostic factor p=0.002 (OR=2.65 CI 95% 1.37-5.17) and retired subjects had a relative risk of death. (Retired: p=0, 01 OR = 1.99!
). TB history family was a significant prognostic element (OR=4.55, p=0.0004), previous history of TB was associated with death. (OR=56.03 and p=0.0000000000001), homeless and insalubrious home were statistically significant prognostic factor. (P=0.00000002), alcohol abuse are factor with an unfavourable influence. Associated co morbidity were not revealed as death factors, but impaired general condition is a risk factor for death (OR= 4, 52). Patients with cavitations have risk of death OR=21, 28, near patients with positive smear (M+) and positive culture (OR=4, 57). Treatment failure as relapse and chronic TB were associated with increase of mortality (OR=56, 03) The identification of potentially reversible factors such as malnutrition, non adherence to treatment, respiratory failure suggests specific interventions that may lead to improvement in patients outcomes, can improve the management of TB cases and avoid increased mortality in such patients.

Abstract: There are only a few learning systems that take into account learner's needs and strategies. The interactive English Language Literacy System (i-ELLS) is designed from the ground up based on identified reading strategies of L2 learners at tertiary level. A survey was carried out to identify reading strategies used by these learners when they read in online environments. The findings provide the basis for the design of the system. This paper reports on how the strategies were mapped into technological features or tools within the system.

Abstract: This paper describes a way to use Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques in order to gain faster access to information from a closed domain. Using traditional graphical user interfaces built as a tree structure, such as menus, determine users to browse irrelevant information. To avoid this, we use one of the major tasks in NLI, Question Answering (QA) and build with Visual FoxPro 9.0 a demonstrating application. We impose restrictions related to the domain of use that of tourist attractions in Romania, and restrictions related to natural language input method. We use tags to represent words or groups of words and patterns to symbolize questions. We use this representation in order to provide to user a non-traditional human-computer interaction. The QA system rely on a database where we store specific information on chosen domain and related data in order to accomplish the task of providing an answer. The answering mechanism uses a knowledge engineering with s!
yntactic and semantic approach. At the end of this paper we discuss the QA System Evaluation.

Abstract: Everyday humans around the globe perform a series of activities that, in addition to the final product concerned, results in a significant number of solid waste, commonly called "junk." These solid wastes not treated to an appropriate final destination will be fatefully converted into pollutants causing a variety of environmental, economic and social problems. Particularly, the Brazilian legislation, in accordance with international treaties, adopted as one of the methods to prevent the realization of the potential damage of the waste generated on board the ship's obligation to deliver its solid waste to the administration of the local port. However, managing solid waste is still a challenge for Brazilian ports as most of them lack the means to make the classification, collection, treatment and final disposal of waste generated. It is therefore extremely necessary to invest in measures to manage the negative effects and prevent the realization of their potential en!
vironmental damage as well as combating illegal practices, such as smuggling and trafficking drugs. Though this can not involve undue delay to ships making use of their facilities.

Abstract: The paper deals with comparison of different continuous-time strategies applied to control of single-input single-output (SISO) periodically time-varying systems with delay. The first method is based on the fractional representation in the ring of proper and stable rational functions (RPS), general solutions of Diophantine equations and conditions of divisibility while the other two methods use the modified Smith predictor structures in combination with standard forms for minimum of integral squared time error (ISTE) or design by Coefficient Diagram Method (CDM). The capabilities of all techniques are demonstrated on simulative examples for first and second order periodically time-varying time-delay systems. Moreover, various modifications and improvements, such as control structure with more degrees of freedom or utilization of disturbance controller are also included in the research.

Abstract: This research is to use a Proportion and Integration (PI) as well as a Proportion and Derivative (PD) type of fuzzy controllers to reduce the hysteresis effect of a force actuator for a Scanning Probe Microscope (SPM). This improvement has been verified by MATLAB simulation and practical implementation to reduce the hysteresis effect of the force actuator. Comparisons with the previous designs with and without Linear Velocity Transducer (LVT) for inner-loop feedback compensation are also made. Thus the new design is cheaper and valuable.

Abstract: This research applied Proportion and Integration (PI) type fuzzy methods for mobile satellite antenna control system design. The detailed block diagram of a satellite antenna tracking system is very lousy; it is very difficult to obtain the key parameters for analyses and simulation. Thus a simplified model of antenna pitching or yawing control system is applied to speed up the design and obtain the key parameters. Firstly, the antenna tracking and the stabilization loops were designed according to the traditional bandwidth and phase margin requirements. However, the performances would be degraded if the tacking loop gain is reduced due to parameter variations. On the other hand a PI-type fuzzy controller was also applied for tracking loop design. It can be seen that the system performances obtained by the fuzzy controller were better for both lower and higher antenna tracking loop gains, and the tracking loop gain parameter variations effect can be reduced.

Abstract: This paper describes the further development concerning an adaptive sliding-mode speed observer employed as the rotor speed and resistance estimators for a three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor (IM). The novel observer is improved from the previous work by a way of on-line calculating the errors of rotor flux estimations and then feeding them to the PI adaptive laws. For that reason, these errors vanish in steady state. Moreover, stability of the proposed observer is guaranteed and verified via the Lyapunov function and its derivative. Finally, the performance between the novel and the previous observers is compared fairly.

Abstract: Power system security assessment based on the concept of risk is required in the current power environment. In risk based security assessment, the likelihood and severity of security violation are the two main factors that determine the security level of a power system. To evaluate likelihood of security violation, the probability technique based on Poisson probability distribution function is adopted. Severity function signifies the extent of security violation. Two types of severity functions, namely the continuous and percentage of violation severity functions are considered in this study. This paper presents the assessment of risk of line overload at various loading condition using a risk index. A risk classification technique is also proposed so as to provide a qualitative interpretation of the risk index value by classifying the risk as low, medium and high degree of risk. Abstract: In coarse-grained parallelism, it is effective to partition the network into Bordered Block Diagonal Form (BBDF) before subsequent parallel computation. An implementation of parallel power flow calculation based on a novel graph partitioning algorithm, which transforms the admittance matrix into nested BBDF (NBBDF)£¬is presented in this paper. In order to avoid excessive fill-ins during Gaussian elimination, a vertex ordering scheme is discussed. Distributed file storage combined with task scheduling is proposed for improving parallel efficiency. Testing results for grids with up to 5317 buses indicate that this proposed method is able to bring superlinearity into parallel power flow calculation for large-scale power systems.

Abstract: In an Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) system, target recognition-makers need assistance to determine which class a new High Resolution Range Profile (HRRP) belongs to. Note that the HRRP data can be obtained from an Open Database (ODB) freely, we present a new Multi-Agent System (MAS) model in which specialized intelligent agents, namely Individual Target Analyzing (ITA) agents, are designed to perform recognizing behaviour on behalf of their corresponding target classes, and then show their identity information and claims that Public Recognition Arbitrating (PRA) agent may adopt for HRRP analyzing and judging. In order to describe the details, we apply Generalized Discriminant Analysis (GDA) in the model, and accordingly, two new GDA variations come forth, called Distributed-GDA (D-GDA) and Synthetic-GDA (S-GDA) respecti-vely. Generally, the traditional application of GDA is to emphasize the Common-Discrimination Information (C-DI) among all targets while D-GDA!
prefers to the Individual-Discrimination Information (1-DI) against other targets one by one, so their syntheses S-GDA can obtain more useful discrimination information than both of them. Experimental results for measured and simulated data show that GDA and D-GDA are complementary in many facets and can be considered as a feature extraction method couple. Furthermore, compared with GDA and D-GDA, the proposed S-GDA not only achieves better and better recognition performance with the number of targets increasing, but also is more robust to many challenges, such as noise disturbance, aspect variation, Small Sample Size (SSS) problem and etc. All these experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the MAS model proposed in this paper.

Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to present an approach to detect, isolate and accommodate the sensor or actuator faults using bank of observer and unknown input observers (UIO). Full order observers, reduced order observers, unknown input observers and Kalman Filter are widely used in state estimations [1]. After the estimation of states, fault detection and isolation can be provided by conducting residual analysis. Despite the existence of unknown inputs, fault detection and isolation is implemented for a very large, four-engined, cargo jet aircraft model. Sensor accommodation is realized via switching under redundant sensor existence assumption. Actuator accommodation is provided by gain scheduling. Hence, if a fault occurs in an actuator corresponding to the control surfaces, the remainder (n-1) actuators are used to avoid hazardous flight regime. Sensor or actuator faults are detected by using residuals. Sensor faults are effective on the outputs while actuator fau!
lts are effective on the state equations. Fault isolation is implemented by taking into account that each residual is sensitive to all of the other faults but one fault. Fault detection, isolation and accommodation are shown to be functional through the simulations.

Abstract: This paper is aim to present the SVC intelligent control strategy to achieve improvement in damping of oscillations of two machine system. The most of SVC controllers are proportional integral (PI) type, however its performance under varying system conditions is not satisfactory. This paper compared the performance of SVC with PI type and fuzzy based control schemes under various system conditions. The details of intelligent fuzzy control of SVC have been design to achieve smooth reactive power control. The input signal for fuzzy logic controller is deviation in measured voltage at SVC location. The minimum fuzzy rules are applied to achieve maximum performance of the controller. The additional power oscillation damping (POD) signal is applied with fuzzy controller to suppress the local mode as well as inter area mode of oscillations. The proposed fuzzy controller coordination with POD provides significant improvement in damping of the system. The effectiveness of !
the proposed control strategy is demonstrated in two machine systems. The results are validated in MATLAB.

Abstract: Abstract - The need to evaluate performance management in sports for all, that is the sport instructors as managers, is determined by the accurate and optimum need of dimensioning and distributing objectives, by the method of improvement for these staff categories and by the need to diminish risks, which are caused by keeping or promoting incompetent persons in management positions. This text addresses the topic of performance management, a continuous process of identifying, measuring and developing the performance of individuals and teams and aligning performance with the strategic goals of Romanian Federation Sport for all It is no longer a secret for anyone that one of the most difficult challenges managers face in contemporary organizations is performance management. Within activities specific to sports for all, nowadays, the evaluation of sport instructor-managers is not accomplished on the basis of specific criteria, as the case of trainer â€" managers invol!
ved in performance sport. Our purpose is to elaborate evaluation criteria for sport instructor-managers so that their evaluation is made according to performance management, by commeasuring and comparing results, by the physical-intellectual potential, professional and managerial potential, according to the objectives and requirements of the position held , therefore being eliminated the subjectivism and hazard of evaluation.

Abstract: An intelligent grid-connected control system for distributed generation system is proposed and studied. The proposed control system consists of power and dead-time compensation control strategy, voltage and current control strategy, anti-islanding control strategy, and so on. The interrelationships of the control strategies are also developed so as to form an intelligent and integrated protection system for the distributed generation system. A 10 kW power conditioner which consists of a dc-dc boost converter and a three-phase dc-ac voltage source inverter is established. Experimental results show that the power conditioner with the proposed control system can operate with high efficiency, high power factor and low current and voltage total harmonic distortion in a wide output range. Thus, it can be considered as a total solution of the control strategy for distributed generation system.

Abstract: Three months old seedlings of four woody tropical species [Haematoxylum Campechianum L (Wood blood tree), Tabebuia Rosea (Pink flower tree), Cedrela odorata (Red Cedar) and Swietenia Macrophylla (Mahogany) were fumigated during 6 weeks at three different concentrations of ozone (50, 110 and 250 ppb) using charcoal filtered air within an open-top chamber from june to july in 2009. Visible damages were identified, effects on phtosynthetic pigment levels (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll and total charotenoids) and soluble proteins content were determined. All studied species ( Wood blood tree, Pink flower tree, Red Cedar and Mahogany) showed sensitiveness to ozone exposure levels, showing decreases in photosynthetic pigments levels and soluble proteins contents. Mahogany and Wood blood tree were the most sensitive species to tropospheric ozone showing greater visible damages.

Abstract: The consumption of energy resources has significantly increased in over the years. One of the sectors where this increase has been most notorious is in the domestic sector. Given the environmental and economic costs that this tendency brings with it, it has become necessary to reduce energy consumption. The aim of this study is to find which factors most influence the behavior of individuals in relation to energy saving. At the same time, an attempt is also made to understand whether advertising campaigns seeking to raise awareness about the need to save energy resources exert any influence over behavior. The results show that advertising cam-paigns are highlighted by individuals in general as a good way of raising awareness about the need to save energy resources, even though they do not point to this as the factor that most influences their energy saving behavior.

Abstract: Nowadays, data mining has been extremely interested; because of its ability to give the companies a better view for strategic decisions. In case of, contribution of several companies for a shared data mining, there is a big problem: confidentially of data. Here, the companies are avoided passing their data to the miner directly. The best solution is applying a cryptographic tools named as Multi Party Computation (MPC). In this paper, we represent a secure MPC algorithm for online transactions, where the clients' information, especially joint time and public keys are not clear. The algorithm emerges the excessively useful response time. The mathematic demonstration also ensures the privacy of clients' data.

Abstract: The urgent needs in many occasions have stimulated the study of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The model of the PMSM system has multi-variable, highly nonlinear, strong coupling character and the control performance of the PMSM drive system is also influenced by the uncertainties of the plant composed of unpredictable plant parameter variations, external load disturbances, and unmodelled nonlinear dynamics. In order to design a controller to meet with the desired requirement, based on Lyapunov stability theorem, the combined multiple recursive based sliding mode adaptive controller has been proposed and the physical parameters learn algorithm has been derived. This combined controller integrates the virtues of these three kinds of controllers, and it provides a solution to the servo position control of permanent magnet synchronous motor with the parameters of uncertainty and external load disturbance and also a reference criterion for the controlle!
r parameters selection. Theory derivation and experiment simulation results verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the controller. This method provides the foundation of the settlement of the servo position control of the permanent magnet synchronous motor.

The results show that advertising campaigns are highlighted by individuals in general as a good way of raising awareness about the need to save energy resources, even though they do not point to this as the factor that most influences their energy saving behavior.

Abstract: The need to evaluate performance management in sports for all, that is the sport instructors as managers, is determined by the accurate and optimum need of dimensioning and distributing objectives, by the method of improvement for these staff categories and by the need to diminish risks, which are caused by keeping or promoting incompetent persons in management positions. It is no longer a secret for anyone that one of the most difficult challenges managers face in contemporary organizations is performance management. Within activities specific to sports for all, nowadays, the evaluation of sport instructor-managers is not accomplished on the basis of specific criteria, as the case of trainer â€" managers involved in performance sport. Our purpose is to elaborate evaluation criteria for sport instructor-managers so that their evaluation is made according to performance management, by commeasuring and comparing results, by the physical-intellectual potential, profe!
ssional and managerial potential, according to the objectives and requirements of the position held , therefore being eliminated the subjectivism and hazard of evaluation.

Abstract: Inner class is a special variety of class declared within another class. It functions as a helper class to aid the outer class that contains it. Usually inner classes carry out a subset of tasks of its outer class. To date, there is no special cohesion metric tailored for inner class. In current practice, the cohesion of inner classes is measured using the regular class cohesion metrics. We have found out that the existing practice does not properly reflect the cohesion of inner classes because their role as helper classes is not evaluated. Furthermore, the existing cohesion metrics do not measure the cohesion of inner classes per se. In this paper, the cohesion of inner classes is measured in term of the single functionality it has fostered for the outer class as a whole. This paper presents a novel twofold approach in measuring the in-bound cohesion and out-bound cohesion for inner classes. Our approach enables the software practitioners to recognize the!
cohesion of inner classes by evaluating the functional relationship between inner and outer classes together.

Abstract: This paper addresses three models of traffic based on fractional Gaussian noise (fGn). The first is the standard fGn (fGn for short) that is characterized by a single Hurst parameter. The second is the generalized fGn (GfGn) indexed by two parameters. The third the local Hurst function. The limitation of fGn in traffic modeling is explained. We shall exhibit that the model of GfGn can be used to release that limitation. Finally, we discuss the local Hurst function to interpret that it is a simple model to express the multifractal property of traffic on a point-by-point basis.

Abstract: Recently, the correlation function of the Mat¨¦rn¡¯s receives increasing interests in geostatistics. This paper discusses our work in synthesizing the random data based on the Mat¨¦rn¡¯s correlation function. The analysis in this paper exhibits that the data of the Mat¨¦rn type are in the domain of fractal time series. The present results suggest that the power spectrum (PSD) based method may be efficiently for synthesizing the random data of the Mat¨¦rn type. We shall explain the reason to select the PSD based method and give the demonstrations of simulations. This paper may yet provide a pavement towards the generation of multidimensional random fields of the Mat¨¦rn type.

Abstract: Moving least squares (MLS) has wide applications in scattering points approximation fitting and interpolation. In this paper, we improve a novel MLS approach, adaptive MLS, for non-uniform sample points fitting. The size of radius for MLS can be adaptively adjusted according to the consistency of the sampled data points. Experiments demonstrate that our method can produce higher quality approximation fitting results than the MLS.

Abstract: Connection of power lines in transmission system is activated after defined conditions are met in the setting of synchro-check relays; namely ∆V – difference in voltage amplitudes, ∆f – frequency difference, and ∆á – difference in phase angles. The aim of this contribution was experimental verification of the connection condition focused on transient phenomena course on connected line, the transient stability of generators, and the analysis of their influence on power system. As the past critical situations (state of an imminent blackout threat) in transmission system has shown, inability to connect line into the power system because the connection conditions are not met (blocking of a power switch) could have severe negative influence on the continual operation of the power network. Setting of synchro-check relays as connection conditions can influence also the process of electric power system restoration after collapse. Thus, this paper discusse!

Abstract: This paper proposes an approach for optimum reactive power dispatch throughout the power network, using Genetic Algorithms (GA). Varying the crossover probability rate Pc and mutation probability rate Pm, the GA control parameters provide faster convergence than constant probability rates. The active power loss is minimized using six controlled system variables (generator voltages, transformer taps and shunt capacitors). The proposed method is evaluated on the practical Ward-Hale 6-bus system and the IEEE 14-bus power system. The Optimal Power Flow (OPF) is solved by a classical nonlinear optimization technique as well as the proposed linear adaptive genetic technique. Numerical results are presented and compared with published results.

Abstract: Authentication lets a system know who you are, while authorization controls your resources access rights and what operations you are allow to perform. Resources have owners to whom the resources belong to. The owner knows best who is allowed to access her resources at any one time. Distribution of concerns and responsibilities can be effectively used for efficient management of enterprise wide authorization. A collection of users with similar rights to a resource can be logically grouped. Managing user groups, recourse groups, access relationships and permissions is tedious due to complex inter-relationships between actors and among actions. A Web-based application which implements a higher level abstraction of access management that mappes specific low level operating system access control can be deployed to access local manager to manage their resource access effectively and economically, which in turn will increase the system’s security level of the!

Abstract: A Web-based multi purpose contractual management system can provide support to contractual process workflows for different types of contractual process of unilateral, bilateral or multilateral contracts. These pro- cesses can be done on-line i.e. Web-based without the need for all actors to be synchronously present with respect to both time and space. Different contractual processes of initialization, negotiation, agreement, signing (witness), and archive are managed within the application securely by analyzing data-flow between actors, ushering actors to perform their duties in a timely manner and employing appropriate cryptographic techniques on every step of the way. The implementation must deliver a management system that provides operational properties of authenticity, privacy, trustworthy, reliability, verifiability, and linkability.

Number of paper pages: 10
Abstract: Conventional automatic generation control (AGC) systems had been developed, based on the classical linear control theory . So under the case of condition, it is impossible to considering the inherent non-linear characteristics of generator unit for an engineer, it is very difficult to determine a correct and accuracy value of the integrator gain due to the impact from the non-linear of generator unit and power grid, so the regulation results of generator unit is frequently overshoot or insufficiently. In this paper, PI controller is replaced by reinforcement-learning controller, non-linearity AGC was discretized as a Markov decision process. Area Control Error (ACE) used as state variant of the system is obtained by Q-learning. Furthermore, to improve learning efficiency, the information of AGC environment was translated into prior knowledge of Q-learning. In order to verify that the method applied in this paper is available, simulation result obtained by this AGC !
model is tested for indicate that it complies with CPS standard or not. Comparing to the standard value with the simulation results, we may conclude that the result is satisfied.

Abstract: Within this paper, a novel strategy for structural alignment of proteins based on text modeling techniques is introduced. The method summarizes the protein secondary and tertiary structure in two textual sequences. The first sequence is used to initial superposition of secondary structure elements and the second sequence is employed to align the 3D-structure of two compared structures. The comparison technique used by the method has been inspired from computational linguistics for analysing and quantifying textual sequences. In this strategy, the cross-entropy measure over n-gram models is used to capture regularities between sequences of protein structures. The performance of the method is evaluated and compared with CE and SSM methods. The results of the experiments reported here provide evidence for the preference and applicability of the new approach in terms of efficiency and effectiveness.
