Abstract: This present paper is an efficient solution to control the basis weight of paper in pulp and paper industry using a Soft Computing technique. On line control of basis weight is monitored using Fuzzy Logic Controller. The traditional systems are based on operator’s experience and data provided by the mill. Fuzzy Logic offers a promising solution to this conceptual design through fuzzy modeling. In this paper, the output of the system is analyzed and on-line control of basis weight of paper is done using simulink .
