Abstract: In the present study numerical investigations are carried out to obtain the complex flow field features around Gemini type reentry capsule at a supersonic Mach number of 2.2. Three dimensional simulations were performed using the commercial software FLUENT for the flow field around the reentry capsule. By considering appropriate turbulence model, studies were carried out for effect of angle of attack and overall flow field around the reentry capsule. A number of important observations including the behavior of complex three dimensional nature of flow field with angle of attack have been obtained.
