Abstract: A novel approach which combine the pipelining and the data gathering in wireless sensor networks is proposed in this paper. The aim of our data gathering technique is to reduce the number of transmissions required for data collection which consequently reduces energy consumption. While, our pipelining technique is deployed in order to optimize the transmission delay. Our approach is applied on tree sensor networks, in which we use TDMA and multi-frequency communication based on the parent node clustering. Our simulations show that our approach reduces the communication's delay by the pipelining technique and save the energy by the gathering technique.
