Abstract: Based on distributions theory to continuous time systems with friction using the this paper presents a batch on-line method for the parameter identification of the modified LuGre friction model. Mainly it applies the results of the identification procedures based on distributions theory to continuous time systems with friction. There are defined the so called generalized friction dynamic systems (GFDS) as a closed loop structure around a smooth system with discontinuous feedback loops representing friction reaction vectors. Both GFDS with static friction models (SFM) and dynamic friction models (DFM), also the modified friction LuGre model is analyzed. The identification problem is formulated as a condition of vanishing the existence relation of the system. Then, this relation is represented by functionals using techniques from distribution theory based on testing function from a finite dimensional fundamental space. The advantage of representing information by dis!
tributions are pointed out when special evolutions as sliding mode, or limit cycle can appear. The proposed method is a batch on-line identification because identification results are obtained during the system evolution after some time intervals but not in any time moment. This method does not require the derivatives of measured signals for its implementation. Some experimental results are presented to illuminate its advantages and practical use. At last, the simulation results have shown effectiveness of the proposed method for friction parameter identification.

Abstract: In this paper, , we discuss the ability to deal with a Hybrid Intelligent Systems (HIS) for Intelligent Autonomous Vehicles IAV in unknown environment. The aim of this work is to develop HIS combining Genetic Algorithms (GA), Fuzzy Logic (FL), Neural Networks (NN) and Expert Systems (ES). This project deals with a simulation program that allows a robot to identify a path to reach a specified target avoiding obstacles. The combination of (ES FL, NN, GA) offers design flexibility and robust integration and has the benefits of reduced communications overhead and improved runtime performance. This integration provides the robot the possibility to move from the initial position to the final position (target) without collisions. The robot moves within the unknown environment by sensing and avoiding the obstacles coming across its way towards the target. The algorithm permits the robot to move from the initial position to the desired position following an estimated trajec!
tory. The proposed hybrid navigation strategy is designed in unknown environment with static unknown obstacles. This approach must make the robot able to achieve these tasks: to avoid obstacles, and to make ones way toward its target by ES_FL_GA_NN system capturing the behavior of a human expert. The integration of these technologies (FL, NN, ES, and GA) has proven to be a way to develop useful real-world applications, and hybrid systems involving robust adaptive control. The proposed approach has the advantage of being generic and can be changed at the user demand. The results are satisfactory to see the great number of environments treated. The results are satisfactory and promising. the proposed method is computationally efficient and is suitable for more integration of hybrid intelligent systems.

Abstract: CSIRTs (Computer Security Response Teams) are the natural response to the widespread internet threats. Many of them have grown of small, but focused groups of people, by streamlining and expanding of what they have been already doing as part of their IT administrative work. Formalisation of the procedures and workflows brings the need for specialised tools, helping with incident categorisation, authorisation of incident origin and general workflow. Also, special nature of incoming report emails introduces a new issues to otherwise well-known spam and backscatter fighting methods. As well as low level know-how, important part of security team practices are also higher level statistical analyses for pinpointing potential threats and trends. This paper proposes approaches to these problems and describes their implementation as modifications and supportive applications for Open Ticket Request System (OTRS), as well as experience from usage in the real world medium-size!

Abstract: The paper presents a new protocol for multi hop data transmission between nodes in a mobile sensor network. The only requirement for the network is to be connected. The routing is handled locally on the basis of informations contained in the data transmitted. Global (time dependent) routing table as well as knowledge on the position of the nodes are not required, since the protocol itself contains an Hand-Shake phase for the neighbour detection. This allow to have high mobility for the nodes and, moreover, it is dynamically reconfigurable once the number of the nodes varies. A innovative data structure called ``the Postman Bag'' is introduced to spread data collected by sensor quickly and simply. Some considerations about the computational complexity and the performances of the proposed approach are reported on the basis of some simulations and some initial tests on small dimension networks.

Abstract: The aim of this work is to improve the algorithm proposed for monitoring the reliability test (duration test). In order to improve this task, a new index was developed for studying the Side Bands. In fact each frequency of the spectrum has a specific meaning as well as the Side Bands. They appear when an anomaly occurs (in particular, in this work when an anomaly occurs in the gearbox under study). Several diagrams and considerations when an unexpected event occurs are presented. In the first part it is described the typical frequencies due to the gearbox vibration. In the second part it is illustrated the concept of harmonics, side bands and their meaning. In the third part a new index for monitoring the reliability test is presented. Such an index was designed in order to answer to many questions before the crack exceeds. In fact it gives the opportunity of checking the various aspects of the spectrum of the accelerometer signal. In particular it gives informatio!
n about the order exceeding the target, so we can find earlier the cause of damage. An alarm starts if a damage on a gear wheel is detected.

Abstract: The prediction of the location of disulfide bridges helps solving the protein folding problem. Most of previous works on disulfide connectivity pattern prediction use the prior knowledge of the bonding state of cysteines. In this study an effective method is proposed to predict disulfide connectivity pattern without the prior knowledge of cysteins¡¦ bonding state. To the best of our knowledge, without the prior knowledge of the bonding state of cysteines, the best accuracy rate reported in the literature for the prediction of the overall disulfide connectivity pattern (Qp) and that of disulfide bridge prediction (Qc) are 48% and 51% respectively for the dataset SPX. In this study, the cystein position difference, the cystein index difference, the predicted secondary structure of protein and the PSSM score are used as features. The support vector machine (SVM) is trained to compute the connectivity probabilities of cysteine pairs. An evolutionary algorithm called th!
e multiple trajectory search (MTS) is integrated with the SVM training to tune the parameters for the SVM and the window sizes for the predicted secondary structure and the PSSM. The maximum weight perfect matching algorithm is then used to find the disulfide connectivity pattern. Testing our method on the same dataset SPX, the accuracy rates are 54.5% and 60% for disulfide connectivity pattern prediction and disulfide bridge prediction when the bonding state of cysteines is not known in advance.

Title of the Paper: The Architectural Review of Web Security in Static and Dynamic Analysis

Abstract: Our objective in web security is to move black box to white box in enterprise practices. In this paper, we explain how our approaches achieve the goal in terms of static and dynamic analysis. To better explain the framework and roadmap of analysis work, we describe our approaches by using macro and micro views individually. Based on this foundation, we explore dynamic analysis in string validation and node tracking, and introduce micro and macro views to architect comprehensive approaches. Our evaluation reflects that a configurable and well-tuned topology helps architectural collaboration, consequently it achieve a better security governance. Pattern matching process has been commonly adopted in SQL vulnerability detection however, the approach fail to extend a full coverage to an effective detection of those hidden variables initiated by attackers. Consequently the embedded SQL injection and security bypass can cause massive taint distribution and illegal dat!
a manipulation. This paper further introduces a token based framing and filtering process to move SQL validation into semantic analysis, hence SQL frame and variables can be isolated, and validated against a token-based algorithmic check. The approach achieves accuracy, early detection of malicious data, and fast responsiveness.

Abstract: eLearning is a term broadly used to describe the process of learning with the use of informational technologies and tools, usually through a web page. Nowadays it is hard to speak about eLearning without implicitly including an eLearning management system and new informational technologies. A learning management system (LMS or LCMS) is used to deliver educational material and manage interaction between students and tutors. LMSs can be open source, commercial or developed in-house by the universities. Tools like audio/ video conferencing, streaming, podcasting, social software, RSS feeds, can be incorporated into the LMS or can be subsequently added to the learning system as individual modules. This present paper seeks to establish the current state of eLearning technologies, both worldwide as well as in Romania.

Abstract: In recent years the technological development in general and the spread on the territory of antennas for mobile phones urged a state of widespread public concern repeatedly verging the social alarm. The need for a greater territorial coverage of mobile telephone service, due to the continuous request of users and to the presence of more operators in the market, led an intensification of the installations that not only made to a progressive decrease the power radiated from individual installations, it also required that they be placed closer to homes with consequent concern of the population for their own health. It is known that for assessing the levels of electromagnetic field in a particular place or around a given source (thus assessing the potential risk for the population nearby living) should be campaigns to measure or apply the theoretical methods (analytical or numerical). The Municipality of Reggio Calabria in 2006 started a project having as its main pur!
pose the development of a GIS (Geographic Information System), capable of "storing" the results of measurement campaigns and also to apply a theoretical model for developing scenarios of exposure to electromagnetic field. The aim is to assess whether the presence of fixed installations for cellular phone is compatible with the health of citizens, or if the values of exposure to electromagnetic fields produced by them are within the limits set by law. This was achieved through the implementation of a Geographical Information System able to manage, store, process all data (both alphanumeric that geographical) relating to devices GSM, GPRS, UMTS with also the possibility to update the database (Technical data characteristics antennas) and insert new installations. In addition to the management, GIS is able to calculate the electromagnetic field produced by the antennas. The SIT is therefore the final collector, performing in a single "container" the stacking phase and the moni!
toring of electromagnetic radiation (in operational band of GSM, GPRS,
UMTS), and finally support the phases related to the remediation of areas with anomalous values of the electromagnetic field, thus supporting the planning phase of the distribution of antennas in urban context.

Abstract: The Information System of Cultural Heritage (SITBA) conducted by the Municipality of Reggio Calabria (ITALY), captures, enhances and makes accessible to a wide audience the complex work of urban archeology conducted under the scientific direction of Professor Francesca Martorano, from Faculty of Architecture of the Mediterranean University. Through a careful and scrupulous examination conducted both on archival material that on literature was realized an instrument - a kind of modern "map" - which allows both to scholars and citizens more demanding and attentive, to know the location of archaeological sites in the city, Rhegion Greek, Latin Rhegium until the Byzantine city. The work, which is the first example in Calabria of information and dissemination of archaeological, and thus historical, land knowledge using tools, is directed to the discovery and exploitation of the urban history of Reggio Calabria through the inventory of archaeological sites and artefacts !
discovered so far in the municipality. This allowed the Municipality, to inhabitants of Reggio who love the roots of their city and tourists to have a modern instrument that indicates the archaeological discoveries in the fabric of the town and also inform on the location of those monuments that have not left any trace except in documents. SITBA has many aims, one of these very important is to present to the population the great archaeological property, identifying and exploiting the strong witness presence of archaeological evidences of town. Another important aim is to feed and populate Municipal Informative System (SITCO) In the note, in addition to describing the technical aspects, the integration problematic between and about different informative systems, adopted technology solutions as well as future developments of the project, it has considered appropriate to emphasize the importance and expectations generated by the project by the city Reggio Calabria.

Abstract: Flood Frequency and Short Duration Rainfall Data Statistical Analysis from Sistan and Balochistan (Iran) By: M.A.Zainudini and M.J.Marriott ABSTRACT This paper presents an analysis of rainfall data from Sistan and Balochistan, for durations up to 12 hours. This information is useful for drainage or flood alleviation work, depending on the time of concentration of the catchments involved. The results are compared with analysis by others of data from Oman and Saudi Arabia, and similarities are indicated in the discussion. Other discussion is included about issues connected with flooding in the region, and flood frequency of recent events. Analysis of such events relies on the ready availability of appropriate data, and authorities are encouraged to maintain records not only of rainfall data but also where possible of runoff data too.

Abstract: Interference is one of the challenges that limit the performance of Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN). It became a major issue with new devises being equipped with more than one radio interface. This research emphasizes on impact of interference in multi-hop/ multi-radio WMN's throughput as a result of utilizing dual radios in WMN's station. Various laboratory experiments in this research indicates that the IEEE802.11 non-interfering channels for the 2.4GHz band still exhibit some level of interference. Furthermore, we proposed an interference cancellation circuit that showed a noticeable throughput enhancement in our experiments. This validates the proposed solution for interference suppression and throughput enhancement.

Abstract: The historical centers constitute, in every respect, "places of the memory" and develop, at social level, a refined identifying function. All that involves the necessity for local Administrations, associations and experts interested in the local transformation processes in act to read the possible evolutions and identify effective intervention strategies. In particular the small historical centres of Calabria constitute an architectural historical and urban property which often melts with the natural and ambient values of territorial membership. The developed application (and still in continuous development) has as principal aim to support the processes of the recovery of the Calabrian historical centres and the exploitation of the local enterprises interested to extraction and production of the material necessary to the recovery with the last purpose to re-propose the typical solutions and the original typologies in order of an usable conservation and, then, "sust!
ainable". From a structural point of view, the architecture of the application has organized in four levels, interconnected between them and climbable, that are the data base, the MIS component (Management Information System), the GIS (Geographic Information System) and at last, the multi-user interface (system manager, private and institutional stakeholders being due in matter). The so articulate application provides the necessary support both public administrations, planners, designers, and the sector enterprises.

This integration provides the robot the possibility to move from the initial position to the final position (target) without collisions.

Abstract: This paper discusses results of recent experiments, which intention was to simulate direct and indirect access to a remote amateur radio e-mail server from a chain of amateur radio relay systems (nodes). We based the experiments on publicly available node-networking software, which is compatible with Microsoft Windows and MS DOS / PC DOS operating systems. Nevertheless, a prospective experimenter is also encouraged to perform tests by using Linux operating system and appropriate solutions that come with that OS. In addition to the opportunities for experimenting with repeater programs for personal computers, networking procedures and commands are implemented in non-computer, or so-called 'hardware' types of radio relay devices. This work suggests the readers a couple of basic methods of communication in a wired local area network (LAN) which aim is to give a picture of what the amateur radio networking is about and how it can be practically implemented within an e!
ducational computer network.

Abstract: Radio astronomical instrumentation has become a fascinating field of research in astronomy. In this paper, a design of multiband novel antenna for low-frequency radio telescope is proposed. The multiband has been achieved by combining V-shape half-wavelength dipole, traps and parasitic elements. The low return loss, multiband and maximum gain within the zenith direction is provided by V-shape half-wavelength dipole, traps and parasitic elements respectively. The study showed return loss of about -20 dB, -17 dB and -13.6 dB for three different frequencies with maximum achievable gain of about 10.28 dBi. Measurement result shows that the proposed antenna can work properly and meet well to be used in a transient radio telescope which is operated in the urban centers.

Abstract: Signal coordination is perceived by many agencies as an advantageous improvement to the community or corridor in consideration. In many cases, signal coordination techniques have proven to be successful in improving the quality of life and mobility through the area. This study determines the coordination system pattern of traffic signal for four consecutive intersections spaced at 780 m distance. Data for vehicles movement were collected using video camera during morning and evening peak hour with congested conditions. For evaluation of the possible coordination of signalized intersections a simulation model, TRANSYT7F, was used. The results show after coordinating, the amount of delay, travel time, and queue reduce.

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a VHDL based design of a frequency synthesizer and a frequency analyzer along with a proposed design for their incorporation in a single FPGA. The module was developed by using direct digital frequency synthesizer and a Fast Fourier Transform algorithm for frequency analyzer. For FFT, radix-2 decimation in time algorithm of n-point samples was adopted. Structural and Behavioral modeling was implemented using VHDL to describe, simulate, and perform the design. The resulting design was simulated, synthesized and tested using Xilinx 9.1i and ModelSim SE 6.3f.The simulation results are presented in this paper.

Abstract: Genetic Algorithms (GAs) are adaptive heuristic search algorithm based on the evolutionary ideas of natural selection and genetic. The basic concept of GAs is designed to simulate processes in natural system necessary for evolution, specifically those that follow the principles first laid down by Charles Darwin of survival of the fittest. On the other hand, Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is a population based stochastic optimization technique inspired by social behavior of bird flocking or fish schooling. PSO shares many similarities with evolutionary computation techniques such as GAs. The system is initialized with a population of random solutions and searches for optima by updating generations. However, unlike GA, PSO has no evolution operators such as crossover and mutation. In PSO, the potential solutions, called particles, fly through the problem space by following the current optimum particles. PSO is attractive because there are few parameters to adjust.!
This paper presents hybridization between a GA algorithm and a PSO algorithm (crossing the two algorithms). The resulting algorithm is applied to the synthesis of combinational logic circuits. With this combination is possible to take advantage of the best features of each particular algorithm.

Abstract: This paper is divided into four parts: the first one introduces SADEX, a fuzzy Case Based Reasoning (CBR) System for fault diagnosis. The second focus on its observation relevance factors and shows how the results are in complete agreement with the relevance concept introduced by Robertson and Spark-Jones in their well known and proved technique for document retrieval. The third describes how equipment composition information can be used to generalize and adapt case solutions to new and unknown occurrences; this generalization is based on a taxonomic similarity between functionally autonomous modules (FAMs). Finally the MKM - Maintenance Knowledge Manager system is introduced.

Abstract: Experiments play an essential role in teaching earthquake engineering because the response of the structures is of dynamic nature and students are not usually accustomed to earthquake loads. Fortunately, severe earthquakes have long return periods, thus testing models in a shaking table until collapse is the best way to make the students understand the effects of earthquakes on structures and stimulate their interest on the field. However, testing a structure on a shaking table up to collapse can be dangerous and it is not feasible in the physical presence of a large number of inexperienced students. This paper presents an innovative approach for teaching earthquake engineering, based on an enhanced distance learning system, that uses synchronous ("video streaming") and asynchronous ("e-learning platforms") technologies. An extensive use of online educational tools are proposed to motivate students' participation in dynamic tests and competition for predicting the !
responses. As an example of implementation, a recent experience at the University of Granada is described. Here, several shaking table tests on two half scale models are combined with numerical simulations aimed at predicting the observed response. Based on this experience, the advantages and practical problems from the perspective of engineering are identified. In closing, several recommendations are made for improving the results of this teaching method.

Abstract: In the growing need for information we have come to rely on search engines. The use of large scale search engines, such as Google, is as common as surfing the World Wide Web. We are impressed with the capabilities of these search engines but still there is a need for improvment. A common problem with searching is the ambiguity of words. Their meaning often depends on the context in which they are used or varies across specific domains. To resolve this we propose a domain specific search engine that is globally oriented. We intend to provide content classification according to the target domain concepts, access to privileged information, personalization and custom ranking functions. Domain specific concepts have been formalized in the form of ontology. The paper describes our approach to a centralized search service for domain specific content. The approach uses automated indexing for various content sources that can be found in the form of a relational database, we!
b service, web portal or page, various document formats and other structured or unstructured data. The gathered data is tagged with various approaches and classified against the domain classification. The indexed data is accessible through a highly optimized and personalized search service.

Abstract: In today’s world the majority of information is sought after on the internet. A common method is the use of search engines. However since the result of a query to the search engine is a ranked list of results, this is not the final step. It is up to the user to review the results and determine which of the results provides the information needed. Often this process is time consuming and does not provide the sought after information. Besides the number of returned results the limiting factor is often the lack of ability of the users to form the correct query. The solution for this can be found in the form of question answering systems, where the user proposes a question in the natural language, similarly as talking to another person. The answer is the exact answer instead of a list of possible results. This paper presents the design of a question answering system in natural slovene language. The system searches for the answers for our target domain (Faculty of!
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) with the use of a local database, databases of the faculty’s information system, MS Excel files and through web service calls. We have developed two separate applications: one for users and the other for the administrators of the system. With the help of the latter application the administrators supervise the functioning and use of entire system. The former application is actually the system that answers the questions.

Abstract: The Web Mining arises like an appropriate tool to exploit the derived knowledge of the web-user interaction, describing models that use patterns and characterize the profiles of the different groups of users which use Internet. To achieve this, currently there are numerous techniques. Some of these techniques are integrated in this work to build a Hybrid System of Web Mining that allows extracting useful information of the web users. Specifically, three techniques of the area of Web Mining were used: Sequential Patterns, Path Analysis and Cubes. The System obtains a group of access patterns from the users to a website, to arrange them in a multidimensional structure, called Cube. Using that, the system can discover correlations between the web pages and users' groups, behaviors of the web users, among other things

Abstract: This work presents a methodology for the design of an intelligent supervisory system that combines the principles of fuzzy logic, the Internal Model Control (IMC) architecture and the paradigm of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS). The methodology has been conceived to be applied in an intelligent supervisory system, specifically for two kinds of complex petroleum industrial processes: the gas-oil separation process and the oil-heating process. The supervision proposal takes into account the fact of using standard local supervisors schemes connected between themselves and to a global supervisor so that local objectives in each process can be met, thereby letting the global or social objective be obtained through the application of basic mechanism of communication, cooperation and coordination; where these objectives have been previously defined and structured in a hierarchical manner. Abstract: The theories and methods of security risk assessment for e-government information systems have become one of the study focuses in the field. As the traditional security risk assessment method is more subjective in the aspect of assigning weights, the assessment results are often inconsistent with the reality. In order to overcome the problem, this paper presents a risk assessment method which combines wavelet neural network (WNN) and entropy-grey correlation, creates a WNN model and describes a simulation experiment by Matlab 7. In addition, comparisons are made in terms of convergent speed, training precision and forecasting effect between WNN and other traditional estimation methods such as BP-NN (Back Propagation Neural Network), FCM (Fuzzy Clustering Method) and SPR (Statistical Pattern Recognition). The experiment results indicate that, with the proposed method, subjectivity in the previous research is effectively avoided and the evaluation results are more sc!
ientific and valid. Case study proves that the method can be easily applied to the security risk assessment of e-government information system to produce objective results.

Abstract: In Mexico, the conventional teaching approach, when applied specifically to elementary school, seems to fall short of attaining the overall quality objective. The main consequence of this problem is when teachers are not sure that their students really understand the dynamic nature of concepts and mechanism since an early age, particularly in elementary school. This paper presents a pedagogical/technological platform, based on constructivism ideas, as a means of making the learning process in elementary school more efficient and interesting. The constructivist platform presented here uses graphical simulators developed for Web 2.0 as a support tool, creating a teaching and learning environment in which practical experiments can be undertaken as each topic is introduced and explained.

Abstract: In the present global economy, strongly influenced by IT (information technology) and information systems evolution, the modern organizations try to face the challenges by adjusting their strategies and restructuring their activities, for aligning them to the new economy requirements. It is certain, that the enterprise's performance will depend on the capacity to sustain collaborative work. The evolution of information systems in these collaborative environments led to the sudden necessity to adopt, for maintaining the virtual activities/processes, the latest technologies/systems that are capable to support integrated collaboration in business services. Stating this, we mean collaborative systems of different type: conversational tools, multi-agent systems, and all these, among various enterprise applications, integrated in portal-based IT platforms. It is obvious, that all collaborative environments (workgroups, practice communities, collaborative enterprises) are!
based on knowledge, and between collaboration and knowledge management (KM) there is a strong interdependence. Therefore, we focused on how collaborative systems are capable to sustain knowledge management and their impact on optimizing the KM life cycle. We explore some issues regarding collaborative systems and propose a portal-based IT solution that sustains the KM life cycle through a distributed architecture. All considerations have a strong research background, our portal-based proposal for sustaining knowledge management in organizations being subject of some Romanian research projects that are fitting in the European research demarches.

Abstract: Aerospace fuel nozzles maintenance, repair and overhaul operation is a dynamic process as the work flow is unpredictable. Further detail checking and analyzing on defects are needed in order to determine the workflow. The traditional paper based of work in progress information had been implementing as to manage the nozzles production. However, paper based of work in progress information is inefficient in dealing with these unpredictable and complex workflows. There is a probability of entering or recording the error information when it is in paper based system. This wrong information will cause problem in production line as the results are inconsistent. Furthermore, this inaccurate result will lead to difficulty in tracking the nozzles. Excessive time is needed and wasted in indentifying and correcting the errors. Hence, an electronic based of work in progress system is apparently required as to overcome the shortcoming of the paper based tracking and also to enha!
nce the efficiency of production line. This paper will describe the configurable and customizable work in progress tracking system as a mean to improve over the traditional paper based system.
