Abstract: This paper proposes a method for quantitative analysis of cardiac ventricular motions. A new parameter is defined as movement extents of myocardium, based on the point distribution model, to describe local cardiac motions. The algorithm finds the motion path of key points in a cardiac cycle via spline interpolation and the result is used to estimate their velocity and acceleration. Therefore, the movement of key points is recovered throughout the cardiac cycle between time intervals to estimate the parameters of heart (including radial velocity, radial acceleration, and cardiac stress and strain). These parameters are estimated by experiments to judge whether the moving area is driven by the other areas. If the movement of one area is much larger than or less than the adjacent areas, this area can be distinguished from the normal ones. This paper also puts forward a method to divide the physical-phase and built LV model to achieve the volume and surface motion of L!
V. Furthermore the physical-phase can be also used to accurately calculate a new heart function index-Tei index.
