Abstract: In this research, modal analysis of a second stage blade in a gas turbine was investigated by experimental and analytical examinations and results were compared together. The blade was made of a nickel-base alloy Nimonic115. The analytical calculation by using finite element method was utilized to determine natural frequencies of turbine blade in various conditions. The dynamic characteristics of the turbine blade were evaluated by the finite element modal and harmonic analysis. Finally by using a Campbell diagram there was a good agreement between the experimental and FEM results.
