Abstract: Abstract: An air bottoming cycle (ABC) was proposed in the 1980 decade as an alternative for the conventional steam bottoming cycle. In this cycle at the gas-air heat exchanger, thermal energy of exhaust is transferred to bottoming cycle. In fact, exhaust of topping cycle is using as a heat source for bottoming cycle. Nevertheless, higher power output in ABC cycle makes difficulties of gas to air heat exchanger and causes ABC power output limited in industrial applications. So ABC cycle, in compare with combined steam turbine cycles, is not favorable. In this paper, effect of steam injection on specific work promotion in combined ABC cycle is investigated by using a computer code. In the model, steam or water is injected in discharged of bottoming compressor. Corrosion reduction, specific work promotion of ABC gas turbine and reducing undesirable effect of higher ambient temperature are the advantages of using this method.
