Abstract: Wireless mobile communication technology is enhanced to provide data services in addition to voice services. Wireless mobile devices are also well equipped with notable processing ability and significant storage capacity. Such improvement facilitates data processing and storage in handheld devices and supports mobile transactions. Normally mobile transactions enable multiple users to involve in on-line transaction processing independent of their physical location. Users execute transaction from a mobile device and the transaction may fail and necessitate failure recovery of the transactions, to get back into the consistent transaction state. Thus present mobile computing environment poses a new challenging problem in designing new recovery schemes for mobile transactions. A recovery framework is proposed that ensures stable consistent state recovery when mobile device gets reconnected after the disruption in execution of the transaction. The proposed framework defi!
nes failure recovery algorithms that recover the consistent transaction state with dependency preservation between transactions and with recovery guarantees.
