Abstract: Human Computer Interface (HCI) of Energy Management System (EMS) plays an important role on connecting operators and power system. For the purpose of improving the interaction efficiency, advanced HCI technologies of both input side and output side are presented in this paper. This paper proposes a new input interface by integrating speech recognition with the mouse and the keyboard, which improves the input efficiency, degree of comfort and the output ability. On the other hand, several aspects of the output side are discussed. Correlated multi-screen display technology is presented to take the place of the traditional one. The mode of combining 3-D visualization with 2-D visualization in EMS is discussed. Furthermore, speech synthesis technology is introduced to HCI of EMS.
