Abstract: In this paper, another extension of kernel Fisher discriminant analysis (KFDA) for multi-class cases, namely distributed KFDA (D-KFDA), is proposed by using the cost-normalized KFDA against others one by one. Compared with the generalized discriminant analysis (GDA), D-KFDA not only more suits for distributed computing and multi-class discrimination, but also costs less computation time and space. Based on D-KFDA, three distributed two-class-discriminant models, i.e., self-estimation D-KFDA (S-D-KFDA), other-estimation D-KFDA (O-D-KFDA) and general-estimation D-KFDA (G-D-KFDA), are presented for multi-class recognition. Experiment results on the measured and simulated radar HRRP databases confirm the recognition efficiency of the proposed models.
