Abstract: Solution of measurement issues is one of the key problems analyzed within current research in financial theory. There may be seen a conflict between the requirements for relevance and timeliness of measurement on one side and the reliability and conclusive evidence on the other side. Accounting theory and practice has developed quite a wide range of possible approaches to the measurement in accounting. In the interest of reliability, clarity, and comparability of accounting data measurement is a significant part of the regulation of accounting both at the national level and within international accounting harmonization. This paper is an analytical study based on comparison of different approaches to fair value. The last very important result of the accounting measurement harmonization was adopting IFRS 13 - Fair Value Measurement in May 2011. The objective of IFRS 13 is to unify the approaches to determining fair value under IFRSs. The aim of this paper is to offe!
