Abstract: In this paper, we proposed a combination of lattice Boltzmann and finite difference schemes to simulate an incompressible fluid flow problem. Our model applies the constrained interpolated profile method to solve the advection term in the governing lattice Boltzmann equation. Compared with the conventional lattice Boltzmann scheme, the current scheme is more accurate. In addition, the proposed model requires less mesh size for the computational at various conditions compared to other lattice Boltzmann models. Simulation of lid-driven cavity flow whose Reynolds number up to 1000 were carried out in order to validate the proposed approach. Numerical results show excellent agreement with those obtained by the conventional computational fluid dynamics approaches. We then extend our computation on the behavior of vortex inside a shallow lid-driven cavity flow at various aspect ratios. We found that the formation, strength and size of primary and secondary vortices are s!
ignificantly affected by the value of aspect ratio and Reynolds numbers. Good comparisons were obtained when the results are compared with those published in the literature. This indicates that the proposed approach is a reliable alternative computational scheme in predicting various types of fluid flow problem.

Abstract: It is commonly assumed that neural networks have a built in fault tolerance property mainly due to their parallel structures. The international community of Neural Networks discussed these properties only until 1994 and afterwards the subject has been mostly ignored. Recently the subject was again brought to discussion due to the possibility of using neural networks in nano-electronic systems where fault tolerance and graceful degradation properties would be very important. In spite of these two periods of work there is still need for a large discussion around the fault model for artificial neural networks that should be used. One of the most used models is based on the stuck at model but applied to the weights. This model does not cover all possible faults and a more general model should be found. The present paper proposes a model for the faults in hardware implementations of feedforward neural networks that is independent of the implementation chosen and covers !
more faults than all the models proposed before in the literature.

Abstract: This paper aims at providing the key aspects regarding vulnerability of supply chains and the way to make them more resilient. After having identified the most common threats affecting supply chains integrity, the success factors to build a resilient supply chain are provided. For instance, in the fashion goods context, particular phenomena cause unpredictable behaviours in the demand, so generating vulnerability in the relative supply chain. A KPIs methodology for studying the behaviour of these supply chains under these phenomena is proposed. This research represents the basis for a future work that will end up with the elaboration of a System Dynamics model able to reproduce the most significant dynamics of short life cycle products, such as electronic devices, with the goal of providing innovative solutions to make this kind of supply chains more resilient.

Abstract: This paper regards the analysis of the development of a logistics and transportation network concerning a steel plant. The main goal is to search for the best scenario that allows to supply the plant and to distribute all the finished products to final customers in the most efficient way. To this aim, a proper simulation model has been developed and implemented utilizing Logistics Re Designer (Lo. R. D.) software. More specifically, three different transportation networks have been created: two "single" modal choice scenarios - by road or by rail – and an "intermodal" one. Another system variable regards the production capacity of the steel plant: three different types of capacity have been considered; so in total nine scenarios have been taken into consideration. The results obtained indicate that the intermodal solution is the most suitable to be adopted both in terms of total time – and consequently costs - and resources required to perform all the neces!
sary operations. Future research will focus on the improvement of the solution found and on the development of an economical analysis.

Abstract: Anonymity is one of the important properties of remote authentication schemes to preserve user privacy. Besides, it can avoid unauthorized entities from using the user ID and other intercepted information to forge legal login messages. In 2004, Das et al. first proposed a remote user authentication scheme with smart cards using dynamic ID to protect user anonymity. Later, in 2005, Chien and Chen demonstrated that Das et al.¡¦s scheme fails to preserve user anonymity and then presented a new scheme to remedy this problem. In 2007, Hu et al. pointed out that Chien-Chen¡¦s scheme cannot preserve user anonymity if the smart card is non-tamper resistant; i.e., the secret information stored in the smart card can be revealed. They then proposed an improved scheme to cope with this problem. In this paper, however, we will show that Hu et al.¡¦s scheme still cannot preserve user anonymity under their assumption. In addition, their scheme is also vulnerable to the offline pa!
ssword guessing attack. We then present an improvement to overcome these weaknesses, while preserving all the merits of their scheme.

Abstract: This paper presents a new methodology for data hiding using digital watermarking in the DCT Domain. The methodology relies on a new scheme for encrypting the data prior to the embedding stage. The key used for ciphering is almost of arbitrary length, type and format; this endows the watermark with a powerful, 3-level reinforced security structure. It is a blind-detector watermarking technique and the amount of the hidden data is increased by 60% compared with the traditional AC-Coefficients Prediction algorithm while sustaining a high level of transparency. Simulation results were carried out which demonstrated a promising PSNR, limited blocking artifacts, and a satisfactory level of the overall performance. The paper also presents an extensive survey of prominent digital-watermarking research outcomes in the WSEAS Transactions.

Abstract: Low encoding/decoding complexity is essential for practical storage systems. This paper presents a new MDS array codes, called Triple-Star, for tolerating triple disk failures in Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks (RAID) architecture. The size of the information part is n*n, the size of the parity-check part is n*3, and the minimum distance is 4, where n is the number of information disks, the number of parity-check disks is 3, and (n+1) is a prime integer. We construct Triple-Star based on a bit matrix-vector product similar to the Reed-Solomon coding, and provide the geometry encoding method and detailed non-recursive decoding algorithms. The code rate is 3/(n+3) and the Maximum Distance Separable (MDS) property is proved. The key novelty in the presented codes is that it has optimal encoding and lower decoding complexity comparing with existing 3-column erasure codes.

Abstract: Suspension system is an important part of the car design, because it influences both the comfort and safety of the passengers. Controlling of Suspension system has special difficulties since this system is highly nonlinear, essentially unstable systems and energy demands of the system. In particular, this article is focused on experiments with the physical model of semi-active quarter-car suspension that using the method of fuzzy sliding mode which uses the fuzzy logic techniques to adjust the control gains that occur under the sliding mode. Functionality of the modification was verified taking various experiments and the results show that the proposed fuzzy controller robustly is efficiency. The computation of the command force to apply to the system in order to control the suspension was based on the fuzzy logic theory for which three essential steps were developed: fuzzification, inferences, and defuzzification. To put into evidence the efficiency and the perfor!
mances of such a control system, we have compared the results obtained through the sliding mode technique solely, then through the combination of the fuzzy logic theory and the set up by the sliding mode, and the fuzzy sliding mode.

Abstract: The habitat in which man lives is defined primarily by air, water, land, housing, food that consume and the environment in which he operates. Closely related to these factors, influenced or determined immediately or after a certain period of time is the health of the population. Quality of life is an essential component in socio-economic development of a territory. In this regard Dâmboviþa County occupies a central position within the Romanian territory-south, with an area of 4054 km2 and a population of 533,330 inhabitants in the year 2008. The degree of urbanization of the county is 31.2%, 7 towns, including 2 municipalities, 82 communes and 353 villages. Environmental pollution in general, the atmosphere in particular, is the widest and unpredictable propagation vector of pollutants whose effects are felt directly and indirectly by citizens, but also the other components of the environment. Areas most affected are mainly urban, which is the major consumer of r!
esources and at the same time, major manufacturer of pollutant emissions, resulting mainly from industrial activity, traffic, due to increasing industrial production, the intensification of the road traffic, and large quantities of waste. Analysis of indicators reflecting the phenomenon of environmental pollution and their effects on the state of comfort and health of the population will be the subject of this study.

Abstract: In this paper, a delay independent adaptive control strategy is presented for a class of uncertain, delayed nonlinear system subjected to actuator saturation. In proposed control scheme wavelet networks are used for approximation of unknown system dynamics as well as a wavelet based compensator is designed to deal with actuator saturation. Delayed wavelet networks are used for identification of unknown system dynamics having state delayed terms, thereby the approximation capabilities of delayed wavelet network are utilized. Adaptation laws are developed for the online tuning of wavelet parameters. Adaptation singularity problem is solved by employing a switching scheme. The stability of closed loop system and ultimate upper boundedness all closed loop signals is proved by constructing a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional.

Abstract: A comprehensive approach to climate change education is necessary to address numerous environmental issues. Such an all-encompassing ecological pedagogy is multifaceted providing an overview of the science behind major global environmental issues within the context of the physical environment of Earth including global climate change, resource extraction, water and air quality, urbanization, geohazards, and pollution. The main goal of the curricula is to engage students in rigorous analyses of data that can be compared with global trends. This research discusses the development of an upper-level college course on Climate Change created as part of an interdisciplinary Honors Seminar Series. The course makes use of multimedia instructional techniques to examine the physical, economic, and political dynamics of climate change. The curriculum includes an appraisal of assorted global warming websites as well as computer-based simulations and analysis of relevant climate !
data using current technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Among the most powerful tools of a GIS are its modeling capabilities, which allow simulation of various climate change classroom scenarios such as storm surge and sea level rise. Relevant aspects include changes in coastal land use, wetlands, and shoreline configuration. Students also examine the role of music as a means of raising awareness of issues such as global warming. The topic of climate change is extremely complex and the challenge for educators is to enlighten students through ways and means that that are truthful, understandable, and comprehensive.

Abstract: Information and communication technology (ICT) has become an important and essential decision support tool in agricultural products marketability. Farm high production cost and the increasing demand for food have pushed ICT to the forefront of the food supply chain. In developing world such as Sub-Saharan African (SSA) regions where the farms profitability is generally low, efforts have been focused on agronomy and production technologies for enhancing farm productivity. In today's competitive global and regional marketplaces, however, producing a sound product is not enough to ensure agricultural farms viability. Market information is considered as a prerequisite of farms business to enable the management of the products flow and substantially increase the benefit. Furthermore, ICT can reduce poverty by improving poor people's access to the market information to have better managerial decisions for maximizing their farms profit. Nevertheless, the realistic availab!
ility and effectiveness of ICT in current market information network to farms management in Africa have not yet been much explored. Therefore, this study aims to (i) analyse the ICT contribution in agricultural products market information system (MIS) through nonparametric procedures and (ii) identify the main problems for seeking an effective market-based information network pattern. For this study, important data for horticultural marketing have been collected in Saint-Louis and Dakar regions located in Senegal, Western Africa. From the results of this study, it is mainly found that there are different market information network patterns in the survey areas. These market information network patterns mostly rely on weak personal social contacts of producers and one-way media. Statistically, it is observed that some widely available ICTs have not been used effectively for market information dissemination in the survey areas. Basically, the major constraints of ICTs applicat!
ion for MIS in Senegal are the poverty of information contents, disadv
antages of the remote communities, language incapability and out-of-date information. Therefore, this study proposes an information network scheme as an effective strategy to enhance the existing market information system in Senegal.

Abstract: A self-exciting vibration model of a single-degree-of-freedom blooming mill, part of the main blooming drive system, is presented and its dynamical equation is established. According to the bifurcation, phase portrait and Poincar¨¦ portrait, the nonlinear dynamical motions are studied in one parameter. The software Matlab/Simulink is used to create a block diagram of the circuit system. The result of the simulation verifies the motion of the circuit system and is consistent with a numerical simulation of the mechanical system. The software Multisim is used to simulate the mathematical description of the circuit, and a phase portrait analysis is performed. Because there are errors in the electronic elements, the result of the circuit simulation using Multisim is different from the numerical simulation of the mechanical system.

Abstract: Abstract: - The performance of a multilevel frequency shift keying/frequency hopping-spread spectrum multiple access (MFSK/FH-SSMA) system over a cochannel interference scenario is dependent on multiuser detection schemes. Many investigations have demonstrated huge potential capacity and performance improvement by using multiuser detection schemes. However, their schemes are extremely complex while the total number of users is increased because the multiuser interference becomes larger. In this paper, we propose a novel multiuser detection scheme to reduce the complexity of decoding process. The performance of the system with the proposed scheme over a nonfading channel is simulated and compared with that of conventional and other multiuser interference cancellers. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme reduces the system complexity and improves the bit error rate (BER).

Abstract: - This review paper presents comparative study of various multiphase sinusoidal oscillators. Special reference is given to CFOA based oscillator which has high noise immunity, low distortion, relatively large slew rate, extended bandwidth, low sensitivity, low power consumption, greater precision and reliability with respect to active and passive circuit components. The purpose of this paper is to review two circuit configurations for realizing a single-resistance-controlled sinusoidal equi-amplitude quadrature oscillator based on CFOAs. The first circuit uses two CFOAs and second circuit employs three CFOAs. Both the circuits uses grounded passive elements, thus suitable for CMOS implementation. Condition for equal amplitude for quadrature phase is provided and verified by PSPICE simulation results.

Abstract: Abstract: - With the rapid development of the Internet, Web marketing has become more and more popular among businesses. However, excessive advertisement information is not only a burden to consumers but also a waste of marketing efforts. In this study, a personalized Web advertisement selection and recommendation system is proposed through a membership-based advertisement marketing website whose advertisement content is determined by consumer preference. As consumer preference declines with time, which is called the time effect, the proposed system applies the half-life theory and the fuzzy theory to members¡¦ browsing behaviors and automatically analyzes browsers¡¦ time-affected preference levels associated with the advertised products. Then, the target markets of the advertisement suppliers¡¦ products are matched with customer preference so as to filter out a portfolio of candidate advertisements for delivery. Finally, advertisement delivery is arranged via a co!
mmercial advertisement delivery scheduling and recommendation model so that browsers obtain exactly the advertisements they need, the benefits of target marketing are increased, and Web advertising service providers¡¦ market competitiveness is strengthened. Thus, a win-win-win scenario for the consumers, the advertisement suppliers, and the Web advertising service providers is realized

Abstract: An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) system has been extensively applied to numerous data classification problems such as cloud classification, business applications (sales forecasting), and medical domain for clinical diagnosis. The most well-known ANN architecture is the Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) network which is widely used for solving problems related to data classifications. However, the conventional ANN theory selects the best MLP (after training) for classification based on one which has the least number of hidden neurons, and gives the highest percentage of correct classification when if there are other MLPs (with more number of hidden neurons) which gives the same highest percentage of correct classification. The concept may not be correct since the other MLPs may perform better when presented with new datasets. Therefore, this project intends to investigate the capability of multiple MLP system with majority voting technique. It is a system which consists!
of all the best-performed MLPs and a single final output from these MLPs is selected by the voting system. The work employs neural network algorithm and C++ programming language as the tools to develop the proposed system. The MLP networks are trained using two types of learning algorithm, which are the Levenberg Marquardt and the Resilient Back Propagation algorithms. The performance of the multiple MLP networks are calculated based on the percentage of correct classificition. Data from two case studies; triangular waveform classification and breast cancer detection, have been used to test the performance of the developed system. The results show that the multiple MLP system with voting technique had the capability to improve the classification correctness. The advantages of this innovated method show that the MMLP system with automatic voting technique had the capability to improve the classification correctness. The most well-known artificial neural network (ANN) archite!
cture is the Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) network which is widely used
for solving problems related to data classifications. By approaching these invented MMLP system with automatic voting, the better classification result will be produce. With further advancement in the hardware of the system, "An automatic voting of the innovated (MMLP)" software has a vast potential to be prototyped as a commercial product.

Abstract: Unified power flow controller (UPFC) is one of the most advanced flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) devices that can simultaneously and independently control both the real and reactive power flow in a transmission line. The utilization of UPFC can result in significant reliability benefits in modern power systems. This paper proposes a novel reliability network model for a UPFC, which incorporates the logical structure and the distinct operating modes of a UPFC. Abstract: Historical urban centers in Iran are significant because of their population density and location, but also because of the major functions of the central buildings that are very often historical monuments and valuable urban ensembles. Historical urban quarters are special places not only because of the cultural heritage they house, but also because of their urban pattern. The tourist preferred to visit a comfortable city, but of course did so because of its old monuments. Heritage is highly valued, because it allows the traveler to experience historic density differently in each city. It belongs, is at home in the shaping of the identity of the city - for its inhabitants as well as visitors. The study of urban history reveals that a variety of factors has influenced the development of ancient cities, with one of the most important factors being the economy. In fact, the very survival of a city was highly dependent on its economic power. As the most significant pe!
destrian network and backbone of a city, the bazaar plays an important role in the development and livability of traditional Iranian cities. This paper analyzes two examples of where modern construction and the old urban bazaar intersect, and discusses how the old urban texture is being lost.

Abstract: The accuracy class of an IVT – Inductive Voltage Transformer – is typically assessed in laboratory installations either by comparing with another IVT presenting greater accuracy and traceable to a national laboratory or by using a capacitive divider. Calibration in the field using internal parameters is considered herein, using results obtained from typical open and short circuit tests and winding resistances, performed with common meters. A Möllinger & Gewecke graphic diagram is employed together with the results of an accuracy test previously carried out to determine the exact value of the winding turn relation and of the primary winding dispersion reactance. These values are used to calculate the phase and ratio errors, which must lie between definite limits, defined by the accuracy class of the instrument. Four commercial IVTs were tested to determine the validity of the procedure. The errors are compared with those obtained with the Schering-Alberti method (AC!
Bridge and comparison with standard IVT).

Abstract: This paper presents a hybrid approach to harmonic current compensation in a single-phase variable speed ac drive, which is widely used in agricultural, and textile industries. Passive power filtering utilizes contour-based design method, and is aimed to significantly reduce the 3rd, and the 5th harmonic contents, and to achieve the total current harmonic distortion after compensation of below 20%. Active power filtering is aimed to assist the passive filter to compensate for the residue group harmonic. The active filter employs a current amplifier, and the sliding window Fourier analysis (SWFA) for harmonic identification. Simulation and experimental results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and the usefulness of the proposed method. The proposed method can cope with the speed range of 72-100% rated speed, and the load torque range of 80-110% rated torque. The results of the proposed harmonic compensation are complied with the IEEE Std519-1992 for low p!

Abstract: : Investigations of domestic hot water (DHW) consumption and the consumption profiles have been carried out in many countries. Over-dimensioning of systems and equipment has been observed in the US. The last 15–20 years have seen drastic changes in people's DHW consumption in Estonia. Great changes have also taken place in top consumption. In Estonia it is customary to determine DHW design flow rates for schools and children's institutions, residential and office buildings proceeding from the sum of the standard flow rates. The design flow rate calculated by standard EVS 835:2003 for residential and office buildings, ordinary schools and children's institutions are considerably bigger than the actually measured ones. For determining the design flow rates for the determination of the water heating devices for schools, children's institutions, office and residential buildings calculation formulas are recommended. By the recommended formulas the design flow rates for!
ordinary schools are approximately 1…1.2 times smaller than those calculated by the EVS standard, 1.1…2.1 times smaller for children's institutions and 2 times smaller for office and residential buildings. Recommended calculation formulas reduce over-dimensioning both the DHW instantaneous heat exchangers and the flow rates of the district heating network.

Abstract: Biometric recognition system refers to the automatic recognition of human beings based on their physiological and/or behavioural characteristics. The purpose of this paper is to present and describe the main methods of human face recognition. We proposed a general Automatic Face Recognition (AFR) system framework to illustrate the processing stages of face images. The AFR includes two main phases: the enrolment phase and recognition/verification phase. Different popular and modern algorithms that have been applied on living persons to verify or recognize the identity based on his/her physiological characteristic are reviewed in this paper

Abstract: This paper introduces a real-time system for verifying handwritten signatures that relies on a hybrid methodology, for which consistency checking is performed prior to enrolling signatures for further processing. Only the best six signatures are retained out of 10 signatures for each signer, during the enrollment phase, based on the deviation in both the total signing time and the binary pattern of the pen movement. The proposed system consists of three consecutive phases, where the first one is an online approach that is quite similar to the enrollment phase, and acts as an initial bottleneck for the verification process so that simple forgeries are quickly filtered out. The second phase uses a combination of neural networks and linear predictive coding to construct a majority voting committee in a pattern recognition context to decide on the authenticity of the signatures that passed the first phase of the verification process. The third phase is an offline tech!
nique that processes the real-time data features after converting them into stationary image frames. A digitizing tablet was used to collect eight features during the implementation of the proposed system resulting in a 2.9% for the false acceptance rate and 8.8% for the false rejection rate.

Abstract: A big shock for the science and the mathematics, the General Trigonometry is introduced to replace the traditional trigonometry and the future will prove and demonstrate its importance and its huge advantage ahead the previous one. The General Trigonometry will be one of the most important phenomena introduced into the mathematical domain; it gives a general concept view of the trigonometry and forms an infinite number of trigonometry branches and each branch has its own characteristics and features. The concept of the General Trigonometry is completely different from the traditional trigonometry in which the study of angles will not be the relation between sides of a right triangle that describes a circle as the previous one, but the idea here is to use the relation between angles and sides of a geometrical form (e.g.: circle, elliptic, rectangle, quadrilateral …) with the internal and external circles formed by the intersection of the geometrical form and the pos!
itive parts of x'ox and y'oy axis in the Euclidian 2D space and their projections. This new concept of relations will open a huge gate in the mathematical domain and it can resolve many complicated problems that are difficult or almost impossible to solve with the traditional trigonometry, and it can describe a huge number of multi form periodic signals. The most remarkable trigonometry is the "General Elliptical trigonometry" that has a huge advantage ahead the traditional one. The importance of this trigonometry is that we can produce multi signal forms by varying some parameters of a single function. In this paper, an original study is introduced and some few examples are discussed only so that one can get an idea about the importance of the General Trigonometry and its huge application in all scientific domains especially in Astronomy, power electronics and in Energy Economic Systems.

Abstract: Although Customer Relationship Management is no longer a buzz word in businesses today the application continues to play an important in enhancing firms' competitiveness. At a general level, competition in cyberspace is becoming more intense. With vast information available at the click of the mouse, consumers may easily switch at low cost, thus gaining higher bargaining power in the electronic marketplace. In turn, companies have no choice but to rethink their marketing strategies in order to retain customers. Apparently, one of the ways to gain higher market share companies have sought to use information technology to learn the needs and preferences of their customers – building log-term relationships. This study attempts to investigate the extent to which companies utilize the Internet technology to help build customer relationships. This study aimed to assess the usage level of Electronic Customer Relationship Management (E-CRM) tools by telecommunication !
companies. The results indicated that companies are indifferent in their levels of usage for informational and transactional tools but are significantly different in the adoption of relational tools. We discuss the results and suggest some directions for future research

Abstract: Currently there is considerable interest in correcting the higher-order optical aberrations of the human eye [1]. Present-day laser eye surgery techniques like PRK and LASIK correct only defocus and astigmatism, which are 2nd order aberrations. Surgically correcting the additional higher-order aberrations could extend the limits of human vision beyond 20/20. In addition, this type of capability could be used to eliminate the higher-order aberrations that may have been caused by a prior surgical procedure. These induced aberrations are responsible for the glare, halos, and other visual defects that have been reported by some eye surgery patients.

Abstract: This paper presents a new extension for the effect of radiation on natural convection flow with variable viscosity from a porous vertical plate in presence of heat generation. The governing boundary layer equations are first transformed into a non dimensional form and the resulting non linear system of partial differential equations are then solved numerically using finite difference method together with Keller-Box scheme. The numerical results show that the variable viscosity affects the surface shear stress and the rate of heat transfer, which are here in terms of skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number. It affects velocity as well as temperature profiles also. These are shown graphically and tabular form for a selection of parameters set of consisting of viscosity variation parameterƒ×, heat generation parameter Q, radiation effect Rd, Prandtl number Pr.

Abstract: Web-based geographic information systems (WGIS) are focused on end-users who have only a very limited knowledge of GIS, if any. For this reason, WGIS applications have to be user-friendly. In the terms of a software quality, WGIS applications have to be usable. Lately, many various usability evaluation methods have been developed. Real users or their representatives are included in some of them. Other methods are based only on GIS experts' evaluation of applications. Advantage of deploying real users or at least their representatives is clear – they are able to identify some usability problems which could not be identified by experts. The problem is that usability evaluation in a real situation done by real users is quite difficult. Experimental user usability testing done by representatives of users is the next possibility. In this case, artificial environment is prepared in a laboratory and the whole experiment must be precisely conducted and controlled. In all c!
ases usability testing method must be precisely proposed and/or adapted for the given situation and conditions. Aim of the paper is to propose a suitable experimental method based on usability user testing to identify the most serious usability problems of 14 equal WGIS applications (all applications are run by the Czech Regional Authorities and they are targeted at citizens and other end users). The proposed method is qualitative, so its main aim is to identify the most serious usability problems of the evaluated applications. The proposed method, results of testing and identified problems are described in the end of the paper.

Abstract: Closing of old oil-shale based power plants and fast development of wind power has raised several issues regarding possible future electricity production capacities in Estonia and their environmental performance. In February 2009 Estonian government adopted a new Development Plan of Energy Sector until 2020. This study was performed in conjunction to the strategic environmental assessment of the plan highlighting especially the CO2 and SO2 emissions of electricity production scenarios. The analysis is carried out using the Long range Energy Alternatives Planning System (LEAP) software, which is suitable for elaborating the scenarios and their impact on power balance and to the environment.

Abstract: this paper presents a procedure for mathematical modelling of ring electric power systems for simulation of both transient and steady-state conditions. The idea of this procedure has been based on nodal voltages technique and on differentiation of Kirchhoff's current law (KCL) applied to each non-reference node of the system, the result of which a system of algebraic equations for nodal voltages has been obtained. Currents flowing through the electric power system components have been determined by solving their respective differential equations. The overall number of the algebraic and differential equations has been decreased by one third by transforming the three-phase coordinate system into Cartesian coordinate system, where the use of the latter does not ignore the DC component during transient conditions, but restricts the model's implementation for symmetrical modes of operation only. A numerical example for a four-bus ring electric power system with graphica!
l results has been computed and illustrated.
