Abstract: A robot as an assistive device is playing important role in advanced rehabilitation applications. Some of these applications required pertaining for the user as a type of Hume machine interaction. One of the best attractive training techniques is based on the Virtual Reality (VR) environment. Using such environment, user interacts and exchanges information about his/her movement intention that can be provided by electromyography (EMG) bio-signal. The current studies in motor rehabilitation robotics using VR and EMG are reviewed in this article. The benefits of VR and EMG environment in motor rehabilitation are discussed. The research in VR and EMG based rehabilitation systems are described and the main issues in the research are defined. Finally, the required future works are indicated.
