Abstract: Awareness of global warming, diminishing natural resources and energy cost increases, the demand for sustainable building also increase. Building are the major source of demand for energy and material that produce by product green house gases(GHG). Studies shows that building sector contribute for over 40% of world's energy requirements. More than 20% of the present energy consumption and carbon dioxides generation could be saved by applying sustainable features to new and refurbish buildings. Sustainable building or green building is important because it eliminates negative impact of building to environmental and occupants. A variety of assessment programs has been developed around the world to evaluate the environmental and energy impacts of buildings. This paper will study and explores the structure of selected SBRS and implementation issue to equip the Malaysian building industry player's knowledge and understanding. It will also cover the background and statem!
ent of the problem, aims and objectives of the study, methodology, scope and significant of the research and chapters organisation.
