Abstract: This paper presents a computer-based simulation of high voltage generation. The simulation is intended to help students to understand high-voltage generation techniques. It includes generation techniques of high voltage DC, AC and impulse. The high direct voltage generators include Villard circuit, Greinacher doubler-circuit, and Greinacher cascade circuit. The alternating voltage generator uses a three-stage generator circuit and the impulse voltages generators include single-stage circuit and Marx circuit. Simulation examples of high voltage generation circuits and their output voltages are presented. The simulation is carried out using Matlab/Simulink software package.
