Abstract: : Software quality has an important role in application development. In order to measure the quality, metrics have to be developed. The paper starts describing mobile applications and their role in the learning process. The quality characteristics of distributed mobile learning systems are presented. The security, a very important aspect for this type of applications, is analyzed. A knowledge management performance indicator is built, in order to measure the degree of knowledge management that a distributed mobile learning system implements. The costs related to the development process are analyzed and metrics are built to measure these costs.
