Abstract: Solar assisted chemical heat pump drying system for tropical region has been studied. A simulation has been done under the meteorological conditions of Malaysia. The system consists of four mean components, solar collector (evacuated tubes type), storage tank, chemical heat pump units and dryer chamber. The monthly efficiency for evacuated tube solar collector has been predicted to be between the range (59 – 64%) with the deference between mean collector temperature and ambient temperature 20 ºC. The solar fraction as a function of solar collector area has been studied. It was found that as the collector area increases the loss increases and hence the solar fraction increases. A monthly coefficient of performance for heating (COPh) for chemical heat pump has been predicted and the maximum value of 1.8 as function for solar collector area 10 m2 and storage tank size 0.2 m3 were found. Any reduction of energy at condenser as a result of the decrease in solar radiatio!
n which in the final decrease the coefficient of performance as well as decrease the efficiency of drying.

Abstract: The requirements for significant computational resources imposed by dynamic security assessment applications have led to an increasing interest in the use of parallel and distributed computing technologies. This paper presents an adaptive scheme that involves user-friendly flat application program interfaces for scripting and an object-oriented programming environment for distributed dynamic security assessment implementation. Functional parallelism and data parallelism are supported by each of the message passing interface model and TCP/IP model. Adaptive stochastic-based objectives and conservative parameter prediction techniques are used to produce more efficient data parallelism. Abstract: This paper deals with the two main shortcomings of explicit finite difference schemes: the use of a discretization grid with the same resolution over the entire problem space, and low level of precision and stability. We present a combination of two improvements. Their application is illustrated with the numerical simulation of the propagation of a light beam in a photonic lattice. The discretization problem is avoided by using a multi-resolution grid. An algorithm for the grid creation is developed and that algorithm is optimized for software implementation and parallelization. The efficiency of the algorithm is increased by further improving the precision of the explicit method by use of a multidimensional generalization of the Runge-Kutta scheme. Due to the multidimensionality and nonlinearity of the considered problem, our improved explicit finite difference gave better results than Crank-Nicholson scheme.

Abstract: Abstract The notation of projective topological group for a category of topological groups has been defined by Hofman [3]. Free topological groups have been of interest in the study of topological groups since their invention by Markov [5]. We consider final group topologies and their relations to comactness properties. We consider situation ensuring that a final group topology is locally compact. We are interested in situations where a colimit or direct limit is locally compact, a kw-Moody groups can be described as the colimit of an amalgom of subgroups (in the category of Hausdorff topological groups, and the category of kw-groups).

Abstract: An analysis has been developed in order to study the unsteady mixed convection flow of an incompressible fluid past an infinite vertical porous plate with thermophorisis particle deposition effect. The governing equations are solved numerically using an implicit finite difference technique. The selected numerical method is validated by comparing the results with the analytical solutions. Numerical results for the details of the velocity profiles which are shown on graphs have been presented. It is found that the steady state values of thermophoretic deposition velocity reached faster as the thermophoresis constant decreased and the temperature ratio increased.

Abstract: The objective of this paper is to develop a hierarchical model of a systolic array which solves differential equations by using Upgraded Petri Net (UPN). The Upgraded Petri Net presents a formal modeling tool, based on mathematical apparatus, used for simulation and analysis of processes, particularly at the register transfer level. Original software for modeling and simulations of Upgraded Petri Nets, PeM (Petri Net Manager), is developed and used for all models described in this paper. This software supports: UPN formal theory, graphical modeling, simulation and analysis of an UPN model. This paper includes a preface on the UPN theory, the UPN models formulation, the UPN models of a processing element of a systolic array which solves differential equation, their simulation and analysis. The first hierarchical level refers to the high level systolic array modeling. This model shows processing elements that calculate or pass their input to the output. Thus, the nex!
t processing element uses the results from the previous one. The second level model is more detailed and refers to a single processing element. This model is capable to generate solution of a differential equation through UPN execution based on Taylor's method. This execution is based on parralel firing of a group of transitions. The results are stored into a *.mem file inside the PeM. The suitability of UPN for modelling of the systems at different levels of abstraction is examined and established.

Abstract: Mobile radio channel characterization using linear operators of affine group is presented. The foundation of this approach is primarily based on the natural extension of basic concepts of time-scale representations of wavelet-type to the analysis and representation the nonstationarity associated with the real-time mobile radio channel. We provide an operator-based characterization initiated by the need to present an intuitive and physical approach towards describing and representing the various effects of the channel. The concepts of delay-scale spreading function and operator as well as delay-scale scattering function and operator is introduced. We established the relationship between the continuous wavelet transform and these functions/operators by employing the powerful tool of group theory. We also derived canonical expression for the corresponding channel by discretizing the channel using frame concept. The practical relevance of our approach is illustrated vi!
a deterministic examples and the associated simulations.

Abstract: : Maintaining the glucose concentration in normoglycemic range in Type I diabetic patients is challenging. In this study H‡ control is applied for the insulin delivery to prevent the hyperglycemic levels in a type I diabetic patient. From a control theory point of view, the blood glucose regulation problem is reformulated as a tracking one. A glucose tolerance curve (GTC) validated from several healthy subjects is used as reference signal. A nonlinear compartmental model is linearized around nominal condition. And reduced for controller synthesis. H‡ design is carried out using Riccati equation based. The performance of the controllers was studied by implementing them into the nonlinear model. Sensitivity and Complementary sensitivity functions show the nominal and robust performance of the closed loop system

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a new method to design a grey prediction system controller using output feedback. The optimal reduced order model will be used to retain the physical meaning of the output states. By using only the output states feedback, the control strategy can be implemented easily. The grey prediction method adopts the forecasting information from the output state variables to control system behaviour. As a result, it reduces the oscillation and enhances the dynamic stability of the system. The advantages of the proposed method are verified through a detailed simulation of a multi-machine power system. Responses of the system with the proposed method and full state feedback optimal control are included for comparative analyses. In conclusion, the effectiveness of the grey prediction system controller in enhancing the dynamic performance stability is much better than the traditional optimal control methods.

Abstract: This paper optimizes the introduction of broadband internet service in an existing PSTN network, by the means of a techno-economical model. The proposed model determines the optimal timing of introduction of ADSL technology to an urban telephone network, as seen by the Network Access Provider perspective. The implementation strategy is determined on the basis of the maximization of the total income while keeping capital expenditures under a given budget. Costs and Incomes are predicted based on current prices of both charging rates and broadband equipment. The feasible policies concern the evolution of the Central Offices of the urban network, as well as the introduction of centralized equipment, such as routers and aggregators. The model first determines the number of feasible policies and the costs associated with each one, using inputs concerning the network status, i.e., the number, position and capacity of exchanges and links, broadband services demand predict!
ions, technical specifications as well as pricing predictions and, by the means of a charging (revenues) model produces the alternative policies for each Central Office (CO) as well as for the introduction of routers and aggregators along with their corresponding costs and incomes. These results are then fed to the second part of the model, which, using the costs and revenues associated with each alternative policy for each CO and for each type of centralized equipment, selects the overall optimal network policy, by estimating the most profitable combination of CO policies, one for each, as well as the policies concerning the introduction of routers and aggregators, by keeping the sum of the corresponding costs under certain limits. The overall policy is determined by the means of an IP (Integer Programming) algorithm. The Integer Programming algorithm consists of an objective function maximized with respect to a number of constraints. The model was implemented in the case !
of the urban telephone network of Patras/ Greece, using several realis
tic assumptions for the estimation of the costs and revenues, as well as typical current configurations for estimating the costs involved. The results obtained proved the validity of the model.

Abstract: With the structure miniaturization of SF6 Circuit Breaker in three-phase-in-one-tank GIS, improvement of internal structure design and layout should be taken into account to balance the electric field intensity distribution among phases. By calculating the three-dimensional electric field intensity distribution in GIS with FEM to guide and optimize its internal structure will improve the electric field intensity distribution status among each phase or whole field domain and can avoid insulated medium breakdown due to excessiveness of local electric field intensity. Based on the character of the complex structure of the SF6 circuit breaker in three-phase-in-one-tank GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear), the modified preconditioned conjugate gradient (MPCG) algorithm applied to solve multi-nodes and multi-elements large sparse real positive defined symmetric matrix is analyzed. The program diagram of MPCG algorithm is also proposed. According to the sparse symmetric chara!
cter of coefficient matrix, the method of storing coefficient matrix effectively and rapidly is studied and new data structure is adopted. The finite element calculation mathematical model and physical equations of SF6 circuit breaker are founded in this paper. The large sparse matrix is solved by using the MPCG algorithm. The electric field intensity and potential distribution is calculated under power frequency voltage and their corresponding cutaway charts and planforms are given. They can provide a useful design parameter for designing the circuit breaker optimum configuration in GIS.

Abstract: E-learning leads to evolutions in the way of designing a course. Diffused through the web, the course content cannot be the direct transcription of a face to face course content. A course can be seen as an organization in which different actors are involved. These actors produce documents, information and knowledge that they often share. We present in this paper an ontology-based document-driven memory which is particularly adapted to an e-learning situation. The utility of a shared memory is reinforced in this kind of situation, because the interactions do not usually occur in the same place and in the same time. First we precise our conception of e-learning and we analyze actors needs. Then we present the main features of our learning organizational memory and we focus on the ontologies on which it is based. We consider two kinds of ontologies: the first one is generic and concerns the domain of training; the second one is related to the application domain and is!
specific to a particular training program. We present our approach for building these ontologies and we show how they can be merged

Abstract: In this paper a new rotor field orientation control of six phase induction machine is proposed. The machine has two three phase windings spatially shifted by 30 electrical degrees. The dynamic model of the machine is based on the three two dimensional orthogonal subspaces. The proposed method uses a simple estimator for identifying rotor flux and its orientation. To eliminate the extra harmonic currents of stator windings that produce losses, space vector PWM technique and double synchronous frame current controller is employed. The simulation results illustrate the validity and efficiency of the proposed method.

Abstract: Multi agent system (MAS) reputation has some shortcoming in the existing model, such as system dynamic analysis and storage capacity. Based on dynamic analysis of MAS trusting model and its problems on system storage, this paper proposes a new trust mechanism which uses combined dynamic time to modify the weight of time. To mimic the dynamic ability of MAS system, we introduce a new parameter of dynamic adjustment, in order to its problems on system storage. Simulation experiments show that the new mechanisms have significant improvements on trust evaluation and storage efficiency, compared with the traditional model of trust.

Abstract: In today¡¦s competitive environment, a successful company must provide better customized services, that are not only acceptable to customers but satisfy their needs as well, in order to survive and succeed in gaining an advantage against competition. It has been proven by many studies that it is more costly to acquire new customers than to retain old ones. Consequently, evaluating current customers in order to enhance their lifetime value becomes a critical factor to decide the success or failure of a business. This study applies data from customer and transaction databases of a department store, based on the RFM model, and does clustering analysis to recognize high value customer groups for cross-selling promotions. Study findings show that clustering analysis can locate high value customers, and the company can then apply appropriate target marketing to enhance their lifetime value effectively. The implication for the marketer is that leveraging techniques of d!
ata mining can make the most from data of customers and transactions databases and thus create sustainable competitive advantages.

Abstract: Kalman filtering is a powerful technique for the estimation of the speech signal observed in additive background noise. This paper presents a contribution in the enhancement of noisy speech with white and colored noise assumption. Some tests were performed with ideal filter parameters, others using the Expectation Maximization (EM) algorithm to iteratively estimate the spectral parameters of the speech and noise. Simulation results show that the application has the best performance evaluated with objective quality scores, observation of the waveforms, as well as informal listening tests in the case of Noizeus database.

Abstract: A new control system of grid-connected power conditioner for distributed generation system is proposed and studied. The power conditioner consists of a dc-dc boost converter and a three-phase dc-ac voltage source inverter. The proposed control system consists of voltage and current control strategy, compensation control strategy and anti-islanding control strategy. The interrelationships of the control strategies are also designed so as to form a protection system for the distributed generation system. Thus, it can be considered as a total solution of the control strategy for distributed generation system. The power conditioner with the proposed control system can operate with high efficiency, high power factor and low current and voltage total harmonic distortion in a wide output range. The operation of the proposed control scheme is confirmed by the experimental results on a 10 kW design example.

Abstract: In this paper, a trade-off between noise reduction and the preservation of actual image features has been made in a way that enhances the diagnostically relevant image content. Data is transformed into the wavelet basis. In this, large coefficients are mainly the signals and the smaller ones represent noise. By suitably modifying these coefficients, the noise has been efficiently removed from the data. In this paper, a wavelet based sub-band filtering method has been applied to enhance the micro calcifications present in digital mammograms by inhibiting noise. In this thesis work, we have used wavelet transforms to denoise the medical images. Quantitative evaluation of various image restoration method has been done based on quantitative ratios such as CII, contrast enhancement index etc. Results as obtained in this case demonstrate that the proposed method improves the quality of the image more than the other enhancement methods.

Number of paper pages: 10
Abstract: In this paper, a non-linear model for a cracked rotor is established based on constitutive equations and local flexibility due to a transverse breathing crack on a rotor shaft. The crack is characterized by a switching function and change in shaft stiffness, whose variation and value defines the closing-opening or breathing condition of the crack during rotation of the shaft. The model accounts for the rotor shaft weakening parallel and perpendicular to the direction of the crack opening. The system equation bears discontinuity, and its numerical solution exhibits bifurcation and chaos. The model is used to investigate the dynamics of the vibrating rotor system, and the crack force reconstructed' by Time delay and Embedding Technique. The crack force manifests the action of the crack on the rotor. It is observed that the largest computed Lyapunov exponent of the simulated time series is a good and sufficient indicator of the system's chaotic state. Various scenari!
os of the system at sub-critical and super-critical speeds have been simulated and discussed.

Abstract: Abstract: The analysis of LHL Ga As IMPATT Diode structure has been developed on the basis of IMPATT nonlinear model. The paper presents a detailed analysis of the effect of peak value of the microwave signal and the operating conditions on the performance of GaAs IMPATT amplifiers. It is indicated that the variation of peak RF voltages gives rise to three modes of operation (conventional mode and two high-efficiency modes) . During the high-efficiency modes, the induced current has one or two additional peaks at the proper phase angles in the RF cycle due to the bunching and acceleration of the avalanche-generated packet of electrons. The diode conductance and the generated RF power increase sharply during the high-efficiency operation. Important conclusions concerning the effects of the dc bias current and operating frequency on the performance of this device are drawn. The results presented here are obtained using a full-scale computer simulation program tha!
t takes fully into account all the physical effects pertinent to the IMPATT diode operation .They will help optimize the Ga As IMPATT structure and its operating conditions.

Abstract: This paper proposes a new model to analyze the behavior of the WFQ scheduler in a DiffServ network node with LRD traffic. The model aims to simplify WFQ by treating queues separately. The RTT, Ploss and latency values for the model under several different circumstances (namely, different utilization factors, buffer sizes and weight setups) are compared to those obtained via NS-2 simulations. One of the advantages of this model is that much less processing time is needed to reproduce results that could otherwise only be obtained through lengthy simulations.

Abstract: In this paper is addressed the issue how to provide QoS control and improve performance in high speed Optical Burst Switching (OBS) networks. In order to provide better proportional differentiated services are proposed new algorithms: a burst assembly algorithm (named adaptive timer-based) with traffic shaping functions and a Delayed Burst Assignment (DBA) scheme, both able to reduce the variance of assembled traffic and to improve the burst loss performance. A precise analytical model to study the performance of the assembled traffic in high speed networks is also presented. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithms have better performance in terms of edge buffering delay and can lighten burst loss ratio for TCP flows of the OBS network.

Abstract: The problem of sorting an array $A=(a_1,a_2,...,a_n)$ is considered when the input elements are drawn from a linear range in $n,$ we call it integer sorting. We extend the domain of input data for the algorithm that solves the integer sorting on Sum-CRCW PRAM to be work on any distribution. The modified algorithm is deterministic with optimal cost, runs in $O(\frac{\log{n}}{\log\log{n}})$ time using $\frac{n\log\log{n}}{\log{n}}$ Sum CRCW processors and uses linear space.

Abstract: Recently, biology techniques become more and more popular, as they are applied to many kinds of applications, authentication protocols, biochemistry, and cryptography. One of the most interesting biology techniques is DNA and using it in such domains. Hiding secret data in DNA becomes an important and interesting research topic. Some researchers hide the secret data in transcribed DNA, translated RNA regions, or active coding segments where it doesn't mention to modify the original sequence, but others hide data in non-transcribed DNA, non-translated RNA regions, or active coding segments. Unfortunately, these schemes either alter the functionalities or modify the original DNA sequences. As a result, how to embed the secret data into the DNA sequence without altering the functionalities and to have the original DNA sequence be able to be retrieved is worthy of investigating. This paper applies reversible information hiding scheme on DNA sequence by using the revers!
ible contrast mapping technique. The reversible property makes the secret data hidden in anywhere in DNA without altering the functionalities because the original DNA sequence can be recovered exactly in our scheme

Title of the Paper: Incorporating Voltage Stability Limit in Competitive Energy Market Optimal Dispatch

Abstract: In restructured power systems, it has been a common practice to maximize a social-welfare function to find the optimal dispatch schedules of generators and loads. Voltage stability limit is usually ignored in this dispatch decision process. Even though exclusion of voltage stability limits from dispatch process may yield more economic schedules, this dispatch may lead to a less secure operation of the system, where the system may operate very close to the voltage collapse point. Therefore, this paper explores the representation of the steady-state stability limit in the social-welfare optimization process of an energy market that involves both spot and bilateral contracts. The paper investigates impacts of considering satiability limit, with and without bilateral contracts, on energy market outcomes such as social welfare, degree of fulfillment of spot market transactions, energy prices, and total system generation or load. The paper shows that incorporating stabil!
ity limits in system modeling tends to decrease social welfare value, increase energy prices, reduce system utilization, and may reduce feasibility of desired spot market transactions.

Abstract: Abstract: A simple span T-beam bridge was analyzed by using AASHTO specifications and Loadings as a one dimensional structure, then a three- dimensional structure was carried out by using finite element plate for the deck slab and beam elements for the main beam. Both models were subjected to 1.5 AASHTO Loadings and at the same locations to produce maximum bending moment and maximum shear. The results were analyzed and it was found that the results obtained from the finite element model are smaller than the results obtained from one dimensional analysis, which means that the results obtained from AASHTO loadings are consecutive.

Abstract: In this paper we present an efficient A* algorithm to solve the Directed Linear Arrangement Problem. By using a branch and bound technique to embed a given directed acyclic graph into a layerwise partition search graph, the optimal directed ordering is then be identified through a A* shortest path search in the embedding graph. We developed a hybrid DC+BDS algorithm to approximate the optimal linear arrangement solution, which includes directed clustering and bidirectional sort technique. Along with a lower bound based on the maximum flow technique, this approximation solution is used as an upper bound to prune the state space during the A* search. In order to reduce the memory requirement of the A* search, we also discuss a implementation of the relay node technique from Zhou and Hansen [22].

Abstract: This paper describes GRAF-ANT (Graphical Framework for Ant Colony Optimization), an object-oriented C# framework for developing ant colony systems that we have developed. While developing this framework, abstractions that are necessary for ant colony optimization algorithms were analyzed, as well as the features that their implementing classes should have. During creation of these classes, several problems were solved: implementation of individual ants and ant colonies, connection between visualization and problem spaces, creation of a multithread application in which multiple ant colonies can communicate, creation of a problem independent graphical user interface (GUI), establishing an opportunity for hybridization of ACO (Ant colony optimization). Effects of this hybridization to different variations of ant colony systems is analyzed. The use of the GRAF-ANT and its suitability is illustrated by few instances of the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). We also prese!
nt a concept of escaping ACO stagnation in local optima, named suspicious path destruction, that is also a part of GRAF-ANT.

Abstract: The instauration and the maintenance of a stable democratic government within a plural society is difficult to be realized. The social homogeneity and the political consensus are considered compulsory premises for a stable democracy or are considered extremely favourable factors for this one. Recognizing the cultural pluralism means to respect the principles of democracy, to instate harmonious intercultural relationships, ensuring that every member of the community can express himself.

Abstract: The consumption of plastic materials is now 20-times greater than 50 years ago. In the car industry plastic components are increasingly used to replace metal. Recycling of plastic materials from end-of-life vehicles (ELV) is still an unsolved problem. The most delicately problem in materials recycling from ELV is the sterile recovering, which in present is sent at the municipal waste, causing environmental problems. Some experimental results for recovering plastic materials from bumpers are presented in this paper. Different samples obtained from bumpers were analyzed and mechanical characterized for the identification of polymers and their level of mechanical strength and thermal stability. The recovered materials from ELV bumpers presented a still high level of mechanical strength and a still good thermal stability. New materials with interesting properties were obtained by compounding these samples with wood flower and virgin polymers.

Abstract: Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) provides scalable and effective solution for packet routing in mobile wireless ad hoc networks, however, the path generated by this protocol may derivate far from optimal because of inconsideration of node power ,load unbalance and link state£¬resulting in energy consumption of each nods is imbalanced and reduce the lifetime of whole networks. Based on the basic AODV protocols, an improved protocol is presented in this paper. When the protocol is selecting a route, node power, load status and link state between nodes are all considered. The proposed protocol can improve the network performance. Through the simulation on NS2, it is confirmed that the improved AODV protocol has higher package delivery ratio, lower end to end delay and lower routing overhead than basic AODV protocol.

Abstract: Efficient treatment of reject water originating from sludge digestion process was achieved by implementing a moving bed bioreactor. Since the ongoing processes in the reactor were unclear, model development was chosen in order to map them. To describe biofilm processes a newly presented zero-dimensional biofilm model [27] was chosen. Simulation data in the study of Plattes et al. [28] were promising for municipal wastewater but it did not meet the expectations in case of wastewater with high ammonia content. Therefore four step nitrogen removal was implemented in the 0D biofilm model. Steady-state simulation showed that processes over nitrite were of great importance in the system. The results also indicated that to a certain degree ANAMMOX (anaerobic ammonia oxidation) reaction took place as well. The special structure of the moving bed bioreactor with protected microorganism colonies was assumed to be the reason for that.

Abstract: In this paper we introduce a novel technique that can be used as an indicator of the number of active signal sources in convolutive signal mixtures. The technique is designed so that the number of sources is estimated using only recorded signals and some marginal information, such as possible minimum and maximum triggering frequencies of sources, but no information on mixing matrix, other parameters of signal sources, etc. Our research is based on the convolution kernel compensation method (CKC), which is a blind source separation method. First, a correlation matrix of the recorded signals is estimated. Next, a measure of the global activity of the signal sources, called activity index, is introduced. The exact analytical model of the activity index variance was derived for the purpose of the estimation of the number of signal sources. Using the analytical model, the number of active signal sources can be estimated if some a priori marginal information is available!
. We evaluated these marginal parameter values in extensive simulations of compound signals. The number of sources, their lengths, signal-to-noise ratio, source triggerings, and the number of measurements were randomly combined in preselected ranges. By using the established marginal parameter values and increasing extension factors, the model of the activity index variance was deployed to estimate the number of signal sources. The estimation results using synthetic signal mixtures are very promising.

Abstract: Thermal spraying represents the process of obtaining new special multilayer structure materials, with good mechanical and chemical characteristics. These materials are often used in solving real important problems, like repairing worn parts working under severe wearing conditions or, ensuring efficient corrosion protection of parts used in sea, as platform, bridges, or obtaining high refractory surfaces. Most of the times, once obtained, these coatings need additional machining and, it is of interest to study how, and, if, any of the machining parameters do influence one of their very important characteristic, meaning, adherence to the basic substrate. The paper presents a study on the adherence of thermal sprayed coatings, obtained from some Romanian thermal sprayed materials and submitted to exterior cylindrical turning.

Abstract: The momentary maximum concentration of the most important air pollutants (nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and dusts) was determined using the dispersion curves of the pollutants in the densely inhabited areas of Dâmboviþa County. In order to present the industry-wide potential impact of air pollutants on the population and on the environment, maps showing air pollution levels have been generated using gathered data and model calculations. Emissions data were retrieved through an intensive survey locating, characterizing and monitoring all important stationary sources. Weather and wind can result in exposures that occur in different locations from where the emissions actually occurred, and can create new pollutants due to chemical reactions in the atmosphere. There were used on-line collected meteorological and air quality data. Geo-applications were used to obtain Digital Elevation Models from the corresponding orthophotos through raster-vector conv!
ersion for each envisaged areas. Once an orthophoto has been prepared, the images displayed are spatially attributed (accurately mapped) and can be linked with any other data that is spatially attributed through geographic information system (G.I.S.). New information, collected from a combination of photo-interpretation, ground reconnaissance, and specific measurements, were layered on top of the orthophoto for easy reference. A Gaussian mathematical model allowed the calculation of the pollutants dispersion in air in order to estimate the environmental risk situations. The pollutant concentrations curves for various scenarios were overlaid on DEMs indicating the most exposed inhabited areas to pollutants. With the aid of measurements and scenarios, pollutant maps show the present and future air pollution situation in Dâmboviþa county with regard to various nocive substances. The results presented in this paper are obtained in the frame of the MEMDUR Project, which has as t!
he main objective to design, develop, test and implement in Dâmboviþa
County an advanced management system, which has to assure the evaluation of the environmental risk in order to administrate the crises situations.
