Abstract: Abstract The notation of projective topological group for a category of topological groups has been defined by Hofman [3]. Free topological groups have been of interest in the study of topological groups since their invention by Markov [5]. We consider final group topologies and their relations to comactness properties.We consider situation ensuring that a final group topology is locally compact. We are interested in situations where a colimit or direct limit is locally compact, a kw-Moody groups can be described as the colimit of an amalgom of subgroups (in the category of Hausdorff topological groups, and the category of kw-groups).
