Abstract: Methods based on Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and its variant noisy compound PCA-ICA are proposed for detection in CDMA context of the compound system MIMO-OFDM. Both algorithms, ICA and noisy compound PCA-ICA, are used as post processors attached to CDMA detector. The proposed noisy compound PCA-ICA detector reduces the bias caused by the channel noise and further decreases the noise by dimensionality reduction. For both methods, an uplink CDMA based MIMO-OFDM channel is investigated given that only the code of the wanted mobile user is known. We compare the proposed detectors and their abilities to the conventional matched filter, the well-known linear MMSE detector, the conventional Matched Filter (MF), and the Zero forcing (ZF) multi-user detector. So, we first study the CDMA performances with the ICA. Secondly, we study the CDMA based MIMO-OFDM performances with the two same algorithms in the situation of several users. We also study, in this context, !
the architecture of the compound ICA-MMSE. We finish by evaluating the proposed detectors and the studied detectors in CDMA context for the compound system MIMO-OFDM.
