Abstract: This paper examines the problems and difficulties in gathering diverse goals and users requirements. One of the requirements engineering technique to cater for diversity of users requirements is a persona technique. However, there are very few approaches that delineate a clear cut way to identify personas from large amount of users' requirements. Hence, this research proposes an approach to identify personas based on questionnaires. The approach is elaborated and is supported by a software development tool which is referred as Personas based Support Tool for Requirements Elicitation (PSTRE). Essentially, the tool facilitates system analysts in organizing, categorizing and validating users' requirements within a software development project. The resulting personas which are suggested by the proposed tool, have to be well understood and well presented to the development team and can be the good basis for design process. Moreover, the resulting personas provide!
an easy way to extract main functionalities and features for the proposed system. PSTRE has been well evaluated and accepted by a group of potential developers.
