Abstract: The effect of rotation and magnetic field on the thermal instability of Walters' (model ) viscoelastic fluid permeated with suspended particles is considered. For stationary convection, Walters' viscoelastic fluid behaves like a Newtonian fluid. It is found that, for the case of stationary convection, the rotation and magnetic field have stabilizing effect whereas the suspended particles has destabilizing effect on the system. The principle of exchange of stabilities is satisfied in the absence of magnetic field. The magnetic field, viscoelasticity and rotation introduce oscillatory modes in the systems which were non-existent in their absence.
