Abstract: The technologies of digital down conversion (DDC) and channel equalization in wideband digital array radar (WDAR) are introduced . This paper analyses the frequency domain equalization algorithm based on weighting least squares (LS) in detail . An efficient DDC based on polyphase structure under the condition of intermediate frequency (IF) bandpass sampling is present . A simple structure which combine equalizer and DDC is proposed . Then a design example is given , and the saving of FPGA resource consumption is discussed . The corresponding simulation and test results validate the DDC based on polyphase structure and show the obvious improvement to the channel mismatch after equalization . The simple structure which combines DDC and equalizer is prove to be valid , feasible and highly efficient .
