Abstract: Nowadays, e-learning has become one of the educational techniques because of its' influential force in higher education. The convergence of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) provides powerful tools to introduce new educational technologies as well as the usage of online applications. The objective of this study is to measure the importance level of e-learning in enhancement the Ordinary Differential Equations (ODE) among four main races in Malaysia. The questionnaire distributed to all second year students throughout four departments in the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, UKM. This paper presents the results of a research project aiming at uncovering evidence that students regardless to their races perceived the importance of e-learning in understanding ODE. The Chinese students indicate lowest perception on the importance of e-learning, followed by Malay students and Indian students. The "Other race" students indicate the highest!
level of importance of e-learning in their study. This paper also provides a suggestion to improve the usage of e-learning and the perception of the importance of e-learning among Chinese, Malay and Indian students.
Keywords: e-learning , SPIN, ICT, level of importance and ODE.
