Abstract: In an object-oriented software development project, one of the design methods such as OOSE and OMT is typically employed. However, a common weak point is recognized for these design methods, that is, they do not provide an easy approach for designing a class. In this study, we propose a method to support designing a class by focusing on modularization to reduce the degree of coupling. We extended the Law of Demeter, which is one of the laws to reduce the degree of coupling, so that it may be applied to Java. In addition, in Java, since modules developed by somebody are usually reused as packages rather than as classes, we decided to apply the Law to a set of packages. We developed a tool that can automatically detect a violation of the Law as a plug-in of Eclipse. We have conducted an experiment to prove that the tool can automatically detect a violation of the Law of Demeter and point out the location of violation Then, we enter the violated portion of source code!
to our tool to prove that the problem can be corrected.

Abstract: Conventionally, the variable structure control is investigated in the time domain. However, this paper explore the properties of robust stability for variable structure control in frequency domain. Here, it can be shown that the variable structure control can be transformed into a Lur¡¦e problem. If the uncertainties of system and input matrices satisfy the ¡§matching conditions¡¨, then the zero dynamics of sliding surface will not changed; For robust stability, it can be shown that from the frequency domain point of view, the variable structure control possesses phase margin and infinity gain margin. and it reveals superior robust properties. Finally, according to circle criterion, a formula is presented that with suitable boundary layer, the variable structure control can achieve absolute stability of the overall system.

Abstract: The abrasive waterjet cutting technique is a controlled erosive process in which the impact of high velocity water and abrasives cause cutting of the target material. Advanced engineering ceramics materials have been used in many applications. Cutting of such materials by abrasive waterjet is becoming the recent cutting technique. In the present study, an elastic-plastic erosion model was adopted to develop an abrasive waterjet model for cutting brittle materials. As a result, a closed-form cutting model based on fracture mechanics was derived and introduced. The suggested model predicts the maximum depth of cut of the target material as a function of the fracture toughness and hardness, as well as process parameters. The maximum depth of cut predicted by the suggested model was compared with published experimental results for AD99.5 ceramic material. The effect of process parameters on the maximum depth of cut for the AD99.5 ceramic material is also studied!
and compared with experimental work. The comparison reveals that there is a good agreement between the model predictions and experimental results, where the difference between the predicted and experimental values of the maximum depth of cut was found to take an average value of 3.9%. The predicted depth of cut of the present model for 7 different ceramic materials was also compared with that by a previous model, where the two models were found to predict the same maximum depth of cut within an average value of 4%.

Abstract: The completion of Human Genome Project in 2001 yields the entirety of human genetic information, or genome. A genome is organized in chromosomes and composed of thousands of genes, which are the heredity units of traits such as hair color and blood type. Genes in complex organisms such as primates and humans are composed of regions that code for protein, called exons, and non-coding regions, called introns. During the transcription from the DNA template for later translating into amino acid chain of protein structure, introns are to be removed and exons are then joined to form a continuous messenger-RNA strand. Splice sites are the junctions or borders between introns and exons. Accurate detection of splice sites from the fragments of DNA sequence is important to the success of gene prediction. Due to huge amount of genetic information in most genomes, computational techniques are essential for the interpretation and recognition of specific genetic sequences. In th!
is paper, we propose a splice site prediction technique based on frequent pattern analysis. We apply association mining to each splice junction types, that is, exon/intron, intron/exon, and none of the two types. The frequent DNA patterns are then combined and prioritized with respect to their annotated confidence and support values. The final result of our method is a set of cascaded rules to be used for gene prediction. From the experimental results, our method can make a high recall prediction comparative to other classification-based methods. We also demonstrate computational improvement via a concurrency technique. Running time reduction is considerably observable.

Abstract: Traditional k-means clustering iteratively performs two major steps: data assignment and calculating the relocation of mean points. The data assignment step sends each data point to a cluster with closest mean, or centroid. Normally, the measure of closeness is the Euclidean distance. On clustering large datasets, the k-means method spends most of its execution time on computing distances between all data points and existing centroids. It is obvious that distance computation of one data point is irrelevant to others. Therefore, data parallelism can be achieved in this case and it is the main focus of this paper. We propose the parallel method as well as its approximation scheme to the k-means clustering. The parallelism is implemented through the message passing model using a concurrent functional language, Erlang. The experimental results show the speedup in computation of parallel k-means. Abstract: In recent years, discrete models have emerged to play an important role in the study of immune response especially in the problem involving human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, leading to AIDS. As infection of target immune cells by HIV mainly takes place in the lymphoid tissue, cellular automata (CA) models thus represent a significant step toward understanding how the infected population is dispersed. Motivated by these considerations, we introduce a stochastic CA model for HIV dynamics and explore the spatiotemporal pattern of infection. The model is successful in reproducing typical evolution of HIV which is observed in the dynamics of CD4+T cells and infected CD+T cells in infected patients. The geographical result on cell distributions illustrates how infected cells can be dispersed by spatial communities. We have found the pattern formation is based on the relationship among cell states, the set of local transition rules, the conditions and the para!
meters in the systems. The main finding is that the emergence of dead cells barriers greatly controls the pattern formation in our system, by limiting infections and the manner in which the infection dynamics is brought to the last phase after the barrier is destroyed.

Abstract: Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) has been widely considered as the most devastating epidemic. To discover effective therapy for HIV infection, the dynamics of the virus-immune system in the human body have been the subject of intense studies. Since the development of the disease typically exhibits a three phase evolution, that is, an acute phase (measured in days), a chronic phase (measured in weeks) and AIDS (measured in years), the use of ordinary or partial differential equations are inadequate in our attempt to describe the three different time scales in order to simulate the entire course of the HIV infection. Cellular automata simulation approach has become well known as a useful technique to investigate complex biomedical systems in situations where traditional methodologies are difficult or too costly to employ. So far, relatively simple cellular automata models have been proposed to simulate the dynamics of HIV infection in human. Most cellular !
automata models only considered viral proliferation in the lymph node. However, most clinical indications of AIDS progression are based on blood data, because these data are most easily obtained. Since viral population circulates between lymph node and plasma, viral load in the two compartments are important for the description of HIV infection dynamics. We present here cellular automata simulations of a two-compartment model of HIV proliferation with delay.

Abstract: In this paper, a mathematical model of bone remodeling process, which incorporates the effect of impulsive hormone supplementary treatments, is investigated both numerically and theoretically. A three dimensional model proposed in our earlier work in 2003 is first extended to incorporate impulsive treatment of estrogen supplement. It is illustrated that it is possible for the treatment to be interrupted with no apparent drop in its desirable effect on maintaining a normal bone mass. When the parathyroid hormone is assumed to have a very fast dynamics, the model in its reduced two dimensional form is then analyzed in terms of the boundedness, asymptotic stability, permanence, and oscillatory behavior. We show that there is a stable periodic solution, at the vanishing level of osteoclastic cells, when the impulsive period is less than some critical value. The conditions for permanence of the system are then given. Finally, it is shown that as the impulsive period inc!
reases beyond a certain critical value, the emergence of stable positive periodic solution may be observed under appropriate conditions on the system parameters. Thus, dynamic behavior of the system is sensitive to the period and amplitude of the hormone supplements so that the variation of these parameters are crucial for the proper management and control of this complex system.

Abstract: For complex engineering optimizing problems, several problems are required to be controlled within the specific interval in which something can operate or act efficiently. Most researchers minimize the objective vector into a single objective and interested in the set known as Pareto optimal solution. However, in this paper is concerned with the application of genetic algorithm to solve multi-objective problems in which some objectives are requested to be balanced within its objective bounds. The proposed approach called genetic algorithms for objective boundary (GAsOB scheme) for searching the possible solutions for the particular multi-objectives problems. The elite technique is employed to enhance the efficiency of the algorithm. The experimental results have compared with the results derived by a linear search technique and traditional genetic algorithms through the search space. Abstract: The objective of the present study is to use a reliable model of the raw meal mixing process dynamics in raw meal production installations, in order to tune effectively PID controllers, thus regulating the product's quality. The system is described by a TITO process. The M - Constrained Integral Gain Optimization (MIGO) loop shaping method is utilized to adjust the controller parameters. Long term actual industrial data are used for this purpose while the controller robustness is also investigated. Taking into account the maximum sensitivity constraint and the model uncertainty the controller is parameterized and implemented to industrial raw meal production units by replacing previous controllers or manual regulation. The results indicate remarkable enhancement of the raw meal homogeneity fed to the kiln. Therefore the tuning methodology applied provides effective PID controllers, able to attenuate the disturbances affecting the raw meal quality.

Abstract: The paper presents the use of two techniques Reverse Engineering and Rapid Prototyping on a product, aiming to demonstrate the efficiency on time and cost reduction. We want to underline the need to implement these techniques in design and product manufacturing. We will apply Reverse Engineering on a part which represent a prototype made from a special resin using Stereo Lithography process, and try to obtain the virtual model. Working in the Reverse Engineering domain we propose a path to obtain virtual models from NC programs imported in CAD software. The paper presents a method of modeling a virtual object that can be compared with the technique of Reverse Engineering, meaning that the parametric model will be done using the information received from a NC program. The NC program contains information about the strategies used in making the part, technological parameters (cutting feed, cutting speed), tool type and characteristic and the most important thing in !
this matter – the tool path. All this information is useful for the operator of the CNC machine in the production stage, but we will use some of them to recreate a virtual model.

Abstract: Typical organizations in a company are usually engaged in more than one project running in parallel. In such a case, human and non-human resources (i.e., workers and development environments) are inevitably shared by those projects to carry out respective tasks. When a resource is shared among two or more projects and if a change is requested for such a resource by one of the projects, there may be a situation in which the project cannot change its assigned resource or adjust its schedule since other processes are competing for the same resource at the same time. The authors call such a process a bottleneck process. If a delay spreads to one of the bottleneck processes, the project cannot be completed by its due date because it is not possible to adjust its schedule or to change the resource. Abstract: This paper discusses the options for adaptability to environmental change inherent in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, the value of these options, and methods to asses the ERP value. The first point of discussion is the issue of ascertaining the effectiveness of ERP, an underlying asset. We divide the effectiveness into two types—effectiveness in actually generating cash and effectiveness confined to opportunity cost reduction—and propose a method for calculating the ERP value effective in generating cash. In this paper, we provide as Case Study 1 a specific proposal for ascertaining effectiveness through the valuation of ERP introduction and of the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) function realizable as a result of ERP introduction. The second point of discussion is the valuation of information systems in the context of business acquisition and divestiture. Although business acquisition and divestiture is another unavoidable topic for corporate mana!
gement, information system valuation has not been discussed in that context. We present a valuation method for the purpose of including information systems in divestment value, something not considered heretofore, to reveal the potential value of information systems in corporate management. In Case Study 2, we take up the divestiture of a certain business site. Calculation of the market price of an information system in such circumstances indicates the practicality and effectiveness of applying option valuation to information systems.

This study proposes a model measuring educational effects for assurance of education quality and improvement of student satisfaction, focusing on the concepts of both ggraduate attributesh and gfourth-generation evaluation.h This paper proposes the concept for the construction of the model, designs the method for data acquisition, and shows the results of actual analysis by structural equation modeling. Further, with regard to quality assurance for graduate attributes, this paper classifies students on the basis of their reasons for taking the course and the learning outcomes, then proposes a model for improving studentsf learning styles and analyzes their ability using the model. Furthermore, in this paper, it is verified that the proposed models meet the authenticity criteria of fourth-generation evaluation.

Abstract: n this paper a dynamic model of cam-follower-rocker-valve system is presented. The lumped parameters model is with 8 degrees of freedom. Camshaft eccentricity and cam profile errors are also modeled and can be introduced in the model to observe their influence. The numerical simulation shows a fluctuation on the acceleration of the valve induced by the motion law exerted by the cam follower mechanism. The presence of eccentricity on camshaft showed a slight influence on the dynamic behavior whereas the cam profile error showed a substantial increase in the vibration levels.

Abstract: This paper presents a new proposed method for identifying the coherent groups of generators for any large power system, this is based on two different techniques; the first one is based on applying two proposed coherency criterions introduced by using time response of the linearized power system model; the second one is based on the application of Fuzzy C-Means clustering algorithm (FCM). Also a new technique of constructing the dynamic equivalent of power system is presented in this work. The proposed method is applied on two different power systems. The obtained results proved that the proposed technique is highly effective in determining the coherent groups of generators and in constructing the dynamic equivalent of power system with high accuracy.

Abstract: Abstract:  3D video is new media extension of conventional 2D video into third dimension adding depth sensation and resolving 2D viewing ambiguity. Stereoscopic and free-viewpoint videos are visual representation and coding formats which takes 3D geometry information of acquisition system. 3DTV services requires jointly encoding multiple synchronized video signals that show the same 3D scene from different viewpoints. An end-to-end 3DTV system consists of 3D video representation and compression, transport protocols and systems, and 3D display client/peer. Technical trend and challenges in 3D video are summarized in this paper with special focus on 3DTV standardization activities in MPEG, DVB and IETF. The major research issues are scalable coding of layered multiview video, rate allocation/adaptation and packet loss protection on the server side for various streaming strategies.

Abstract: The biogas is one type of energy and sustainable development which is important to the energy and environmental planning of Thailand. The study and analysis of the mathematical model of the biogas process can be explained the variables that affect biogas process and proposed a design for biogas reactor using shrimp pond sediment. The treatment of shrimp culture pond sediment by anaerobic digestion process could also reduce the amount of waste and produce biogas, which were the high ratio of methane can be used as renewable energy. This paper presents a mathematical modelling and parameter identification of an artificial intelligence to estimate the mathematical model of an anaerobic digestion with shrimp pond sediments in the biogas process which is a batch reaction. The principles of mass balance equations were defined the mathematical models. The equations is one stage nonlinear caused by the reaction of organic substances that are decomposed into biogas. The general multistage process information structure, which enables the integrated modelling was built. The process models were generated for batch, semi-batch and continue multistage process units. Using the advanced method, one can evaluate by multi-convergence criteria dynamic state and steady state of the multistage system. For the process models distillation and absobtion multistage with and without chemical reaction were used. As a virtually process representation a multistage, multicomponent distillation process was used. The obtained results show benefits of the integrated modelling method.

Abstract: This paper presents the modified Renyi-CLIPx clustering algorithm and shows that with this algorithm more accurate groupings can be obtained, it gives higher accuracy rates as well. The combination of Renyi entropy based clustering and CLIP3, CLIP4 rule derivation algorithms is used to discover clusters and create rules to explain them. The algorithm itself contains refinements that are used while improving the goodness of obtained clusters and rules. Results on researching the influence of data discretization and so called negative examples data set to the rule complexity and cluster quality are presented as well.

Abstract: Abstract— Substantial evidence states that serum uric acid is an important, independent risk factor for cardiovascular and renal disease especially in patients with hypertension, heart failure, or diabetes, relative to the oxidative stress that alters the plasma lipoprotein profile, the coagulative parameters, the endothelium and the cell membranes, but this is not supported by large scale clinical studies. There is increasing evidence that inflammation and endothelial dysfunction are the most important pathogenic pathways explaining the propensity to atherosclerosis and its complications in metabolic syndrome. Most adipocytokines and proinflammatory biomarkers (adiponectin, cell adhesion molecules, TNF-á, IL, CRP) are elevated in the serum and vessel walls of patients with metabolic syndrome, being positive predictors for cardiovascular events. Aims: To investigate uric acid, oxidative stress, hs C-reactive protein and classical cardiovascular risk factors, in a !
never treated, non-smoking hypertensive adult patients group (age: 56,9±6,62, sex: m/f=14/22, waist: 93,2±20,3 Kg, ABP: 154.5±14/91.5±8.26 mmHg) with/without MetS vs age-, sex- matched control group. Methods: The concentration of serum and erythrocyte superoxiddismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and malonaldialdehyde (MDA) were analysed by spectrofotometry. All the other risk factors (uric acid, fasting glucose, lipid pro&#64257;le) were assessed by validated standard procedures. High sensitive C-reactive protein (hs CRP) has been performed by a sandwich ELISA method. Results: Plasma levels of oxidative stress parameters determined and hsCRP are significantly higher than the control group (p<0.0001). Oxidative stress markers in non-smoking hypertensive group are strongly correlated (r>0.7) with ABP values, the number of criteria for MetS, waist, BMI and hsCRP, they have an average correlation with age, weight, SCORE algorithm and are not correlated with fasting plasma glucose!
, triglyceride, HDL-C. The coefficient of determination is significant
ly increased between the number of criteria for the MetS and oxidative stress parameters. Uric acid levels are correleted on average with weight, waist, BMI, average BP, diastolic BP and have a weak correlation with hs-PCR and oxidative stress parameters. Level of hsCRP activity is strongly correlated with waist, the number of criteria for MetS, oxidative stress markers, SCORE algorithm and has an average correlation with BMI, TG, HDL-C. Conclusions: Increase oxidative stress activity and CRP levels are associated with MetS. When applying multiple linear regression, adjusted for sex, age, classical cardiovascular risk factors, arterial blood pressure becomes a powerful and independent determinant factor of oxidative stress parameters; weight and waist are a powerful and independent determinant factors of hs-CRP values.

Abstract: This study provides a robot industry-orientation training course which integrates the hardware circuits, firmware programming and shortest path algorithms into the implementation the line following maze robot. The objective of this work is to attract students¡¦ interest in industry skills such as design of hardware circuits, firmware programming and path-finding algorithms. The robot training course has several key components, including 1) the five sensors to detect the routing path (line position), 2)UART transmission and the corresponding firmware codes between two micro-controllers, 3) the robot motions with the corresponding firmware programming and 4) a shortest path algorithm for the tree-based routing map and path-merging algorithm for the cyclic-based routing map. After finishing this course, students learn many practical skills, including designing the sensors to guide the robot, developing a UART-based protocol and its corresponding firmware code for two!
micro-controllers, and implementing a shortest path algorithm for a tree-based map. Moreover, we also provide the programming exercise for the cyclic-based routing map. We merge the same paths after we analyze two different routing paths which are obtained through separate algorithms. Hence, total routing path could be further reduced. The price of this line-following maze robot is cheap (~USD$150) and the course materials, including the necessary theories for embedded systems, firmware for motion control, and the shortest path algorithms, are interesting to draw students¡¦ attentions. Finally, we design some questionnaire to measure the performance of students and modify the materials according the feedback from students.

Abstract: This paper studies wireless communication system following microdiversity to mitigate the effects of short-term fading and macrodiversity processing to reduce shadowing effects. N-branch maximal-ratio combining (MRC) is implemented at the micro level (single base station) and selection combining (SC) with two base stations (dual diversity) is implemented at the macro level. Model in the paper assumes a Nakagami-m density function for the envelope of the received signal and a gamma distribution to model the average power to account for shadowing. Analytical expressions for the probability density function (PDF), cumulative distribution function (CDF) and moments of signal after micro- and macrodiversity processing are derived. These expressions are used to study important system performance criteria such as the outage probability, average bit error probability (ABEP), average output signal value and amount of fading (AoF). presented to illustrate the proposed mathematical analysis and to show the effects of various system parameters to the system performance, as well as enhancement due to use of the combination of micro- and macrodiversity.

Abstract: Voltage source converter HVDC is definitely a competitive option to connect large scale wind energy to grid, which is able to generate lagging or leading reactive power. But the limitation power electronic devices in terms of current and voltage capabilities necessitates the use of series connected and multilevel converters in order to increase the operating voltage of converters. Modular multilevel converter-based HVDC make sub module switches in line frequency and converter outputs step waveform. So its control system has a long sampling period and slow dynamic response. The conventional cascade control of modular multilevel converter HVDC would not behave well as the power change sharply or the fault of grid happens. To enhance its dynamic performance the feed forward control is used here because it tracks reference faster than feed back. The paper designs such a feed forward controller based on differential flatness which can enhance dynamic performance. Finall!

Abstract: This paper presents a design method of a torque control strategy for parallel hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) by using fuzzy logic. Taking the driver command, the state of charge (SOC) of the battery, and the motor/generator speed as inputs, a fuzzy controller and relevant fuzzy rules have been developed to effectively determine the torque distribution between electric motor (EM) and internal combustion engine (ICE). The underlying theme of this strategy is to optimize the operational efficiency of all components, considered as one system. The simulation results reveal that, compared with the conventional logic torque control strategy (LTCS) which uses precise threshold parameters, the proposed fuzzy torque control strategy (FTCS) improves fuel economy and maintains battery SOC within its operation range more effectively.

Abstract: The objective of this research is to extend the basic support vector machine, to handle multi- category classification task and also explores the issue of asymmetric misclassification costs through an application to customer loyalty segmentation using empirical data collected from one of the largest credit card issuing banks in China. The data includes attributes from customer satisfaction survey and credit card transaction history is used to validate the proposed model. The results show that the proposed cost-sensitive support vector machine for customer loyalty segmentation is an effective method compared to the original support vector machine

Abstract: The manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) isolated from a human liposarcoma cell line (LSA) was able to kill cancer cells expressing oestrogen receptors, while it did not have cytotoxic effects on normal cells. The oncotoxic activity of the recombinant MnSOD (rMnSOD) was due, likely, to an increase in the level of oxidants in the tumor cells, which have low levels of catalase and, consequently, reach the threshold of toxicity before normal cells. The effectiveness of the rMnSOD in repairing the damage caused by radical excess was further shown by its topical application on necrotic skin. Together with its oncotoxic activity, the rMnSOD exerts a radioprotective effect on normal cells irradiated with X rays. The rMnSOD is characterized by the presence of a leader peptide, which allows the protein to enter cells: this unique property can be used in the radiodiagnosis of cancer or chemotherapy, conjugating radioactive substances or chemotherapic drugs to the leader pe!
