Abstract: The paper describes a protocol independent multicast(PIM)-Source-Specific Multicast (SSM) edge router multicast approach in Multi protocol Label Switching(MPLS) Virtual Private Network(VPN). This approach only needs Provider Edge (PE) routers to build multicast trees and maintain multicast states in order to decrease the burden of Provide core (P) routers. The paper also compares my approach with the approach of Multicast VPN. The result shows my approach is better than the approach of Multicast VPN in some aspects.
