Abstract: The literature includes some knowledge of barriers to ýinternationalization of services in general, however very little ýknowledge exists of such barriers in the b-to-b-services context. ýClearly, there is need to increase the knowledge in this area. The ýpurpose of this paper is to increase the understanding of barriers to the ýinternationalization of b-to-b-services. More precisely, this paper aims ýat finding and distinguishing general barriers in service industries from ýthose specific to b-to-b-services. This paper is based on extensive ýliterature analysis and empirical data. First, this paper makes an ýintroduction to the nature of international services. Then, it discusses ýgeneral barriers to internationalization of services. After that, it ýdiscusses the barriers to internationalization of b-to-b-services. Then it ýexplains the empirical method. After that, it describes the empirical ýfindings. Next, this article proposes a framework of barriers to ýinter!
nationalization of b-to-b-services. This framework contributes to ýthe literature by showing both the general barriers in service industries ýas well as the barriers specific to b-to-b-services.ý
