Abstract: This article reveals the detailed analyses of the uniform stability and the transient stability of an adaptive sliding-mode load-torque observer. Using the Lyapunov's direct method, the stability can be concluded only in some time intervals during transient state. Using the LaSalle's invariance principle, it can be concluded that by the end of the transient state the observer definitely enters the stable steady-state.
