Abstract: This paper designs an IMS-based control architecture for IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) services on NGN and proposes a control method of them. The main idea of the control architecture is to add the IPTV multicast session control function to the CSCF(Call Session Control Function) of IMS, which makes IMS control not only the existing communication service but also the broadcasting service. And the function of profile management for HSS(Home Subscriber Server) subscriber is added to the management function for the IPTV subscriber. Also the information management function of the multicast group and the service(contents) is constructed additionally. The IPTV service interworking with the functions of IMS is controlled over the information management.
