Abstract: Impedance bandwidth is one of the important characteristics of microstrip patch antennas and can be significantly improved by using multilayer dielectric configuration. Focus is on bandwidth enhancement technique of a multilayer patch antenna for X-band applications. In this paper antenna losses are contained by controlling those quality factors which can have significant impact on bandwidth for given permittivity and substrate thickness. In order to achieve this conformal transformation of multidielectric microstrip antenna has been carried out to analyze performances. For ease of analysis Wheelers transformation is used to map the complex permittivity of a multilayer substrate to a single layer. Method of Moments and Finite Difference Time Domain approaches are used for computation of the results
