Abstract: A more accurate and numerically efficient Transmission Line model is proposed for a bow-tie microstrip patch antenna to include the effect of flare angle of nonradiating edges on the antenna characteristics. A comparison between MoM, Moussakhani Transmission Line model and proposed Transmission Line model show that the results of VSWR, return loss and resonant frequency obtained from the proposed model has a better agreement with results obtained by Advance Design System which uses MoM even for large range of flare angles compared to Moussakhani Transmission Line model.
