Abstract: This paper presents a study of a new proposed End-to-End Based Admission Control scheme with loss policy scheme (EMBAC-L). The proposed scheme introduces an enhancement to the End-to-End Measurement Based Admission Control (EMBAC) mechanism for VoIP networks which contribute to an increase benefits of the scheme. EMPAC-L allows automatic adjustment of admission control scheme parameters using a feedback measurement of the network active loss rate. If the loss rate is less than predetermined threshold the call is accepted, otherwise the call is rejected with probability P which is a function of the measured network loss. The scheme call rejection probability is analyzed with various distribution functions to set the admission threshold to the optimal value which provides the required QoS for VoIP networks. Simulation is used to evaluate the network performance. Our study shows that the proposed admission control mechanisms enhance EMPAC mechanism !
performance and dynamically control VOIP packet loss rate under various network operational conditions.
