Abstract: This paper investigates the feasibility of adaptive control algorithm for vibration suppression of flexible structure. The dynamic model of the flexible cantilever beam using finite element modeling is derived. Parameters of adaptive controllers are adjusted on-line to achieve the best performance. Adaptive feedforward control scheme using least mean square algorithm is developed to suppress the vibration. Simulations verify the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive vibration control scheme and demonstrate its application in vibration suppression of flexible structure.
