Abstract: In this paper, a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) pattern based on Selective Harmonic Elimination (SHE) is proposed for current control of five-level single- phase the current-source inverter. A combination of chops is positioned in such a way that the lower order harmonics are eliminated selectively with minimum switching frequency. Generalized equations and tables which show the relationship of various PWM-SHE parameters are provided and discussed in detail for evaluating the performance of harmonic elimination and current control, a simulation system is built based on PSPICE. Simulation results show the validity and practice of the single-phase five-level current-source inverter system proposed.
