Abstract: Clustering of mobile ad hoc network s (MANET) is a crucial factor. Graph domination can be used in defining clusters in MANET's. This paper proposes an algorithm which uses a new variant called closeness index in Graph Theory to determine weight of each node. These weights are further used to determine a K- Hop weighted dominating set, in which each dominating node will act as a master node. Although finding the minimum dominating set is NP-complete problem the proposed algorithm gives an approximate solution. Simulation results show the performance of this clustering.
