Abstract: In order to optimize the maintenance management of facility in the petrochemical plant, Reliability-centered Maintenance (RCM) considering Criticality Analysis (CA) is investigated. In this study, criticality evaluation method for the failure modes which is applicable for petrochemical rotary machinery is established. Aiming at each failure cause, the maintenance and monitor/detection recommendations are proposed. To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the RCM analysis, a computer-aided analysis software is developed based on the procedure of RCM considering CA. The software has been applied for RCM analysis of the rotary machinery in an ethylene plant in China. The research shows that the result of RCM analysis by using computer-aided software can provide reliable and scientific basis for maintenance strategy formulation.
