Abstract: An understanding of how to enact well software process has become an important topic for both academicians and practitioners in recent years. Complex processes have many elements and there are many potential ways to improve them. Without a quantitative understanding of the process steps, but it is difficult to tell which ones are effective. Process must be measured for size, effort, schedule, and cost if they are to be performed successfully. To define a process is according to organization¡¦s intents which they are composed of other business goals. Although currently study on software process improvement is growing up fast, however, software development strategies do not provide a clear indication of what specifically constitutes software processes. In this research propose a UML-based approach to define a software process as effective ways for identifying, and defining the essential process elements of good evaluating practice. The aim is to embed quantitative ev!
aluation faculty into project¡¦s process definition stage to satisfy the goal of organization process improvement. The proposed approach focus on the study of UML models as class, state-chart and activity diagrams complemented with a set of OCL constraints.
