Abstract: Computer-assisted learning has become one of the most dynamic fields of multi-disciplinary research. The major issues studied in this field have been the development of systems focusing on acquiring skills; while in the beginning, such systems were not quite adequate to the learner's profile and did not provide guidance in decision making throughout the learning cycle, they are now becoming increasingly intelligent, with more and more powerful pedagogical capacities. The emergence of new information and communication technologies (ICT) and especially of artificial intelligence technologies has revolutionized thinking in this respect for several reasons: firstly, ICT can be used to disseminate knowledge on a wide scale; secondly, courses can be selected tacking into account the behavior of the learner, her expectations and her preferences. Therefore, hypermedia systems destined to structuring courses based on the concept of reusing didactic items have started to be!
developed. In the literature of the field there are three categories of such systems: classical hypermedia, adaptive hypermedia and dynamic adaptive hypermedia.
