Abstract: Abstract: In this paper, we propose a dimension reduction based direction of arrival (DOA) estimation approach using an array of spatially distributed electric and magnetic component sensors, and the array comprises subarrays that are well calibrated individually but not with each other. The proposed method is compared with existing method and its computational complexity is analyzed. It is shown that the dimension reduction based method can reduce the computational loads significantly, and enhance estimation accuracy for low signal noise ratio (SNR) condition. Furthermore, we discuss DOA identifiability issues for such arrays and derive a relevant Cramer Rao bound (CRB). Computer simulations are conducted to illustrate the effectivity of the proposed estimators.
