Abstract: Now a days, power electronic converters are extensively used in power applications. They are used in DC and AC drives, control of power systems, induction heating of metals, and other applications. DC-DC, DC-AC and AC-AC converters are types of power electronic converters that used in many industrial applications. This paper proposes a new topology for an AC-DC-AC power electronic converter. The main attributes of the proposed converter topology are the generation of AC output voltage higher than the input one, the root mean square value of the output voltage can be controlled very easy and the frequency of the output voltage can be also controlled, if desired. The proposed converter can be used in power applications instead of the step-up transformers. Also, it can be used in AC drives, uninterruptable power supplies and other applications.
