Abstract: In this paper the dynamic selection normalized subband adaptive filter (DS-NSAF) is described. It dynamically selects the subband filters based on the largest decrease of the successive mean square deviation (MSD) at every iteration. Following this, the mean-square performance of this algorithm is studied. This analysis is based on energy conservation arguments and does not restrict the inputs to specific models or to being Gaussian. Simulation results illustrate the good agreement between theory and practice.
