Abstract: In this paper we analyze the existence of periodic orbits via Hopf bifurcation in a predator--prey system of Holling and Leslie type. We provide the explicit conditions for the existence of a Hopf bifurcation in the model with its six parameters. Also we take an example from nature to test our results.
